William Conradi, Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame member
William B. Conradi was a splendid athlete who excelled in baseball, softball, bowling and golf and was inducted into the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame.
"He was fiery and fun to be around, " said Mr. Conradi's son, Mark Conradi of Hebron. "Everybody respected and liked him."
Mr. Conradi, 74, of Villa Hills, died Tuesday at his home.
He was the owner and operator of Conradi Roofing.
Mr. Conradi's favorite sport was baseball.
"He was a very good shortstop and good hitter and played on a lot of top quality amateur teams in the area, " said his son. "He also was on a softball team that went to a world tournament."
Mr. Conradi was in a bowling league and recorded the highest single game score, 289, and the highest three-game series, a 289, 244 and 199 for a 732 total, at Kenton Lanes.
He coached sons Mark and Dave in Knothole baseball in Villa Hills and later, when his sons played baseball at Northern Kentucky University, traveled extensively to watch them play.
Mr. Conradi enjoyed fishing, was a Lion of Kenton County and devoted to his church.
"He loved being around his grandchildren, " said Mark Conradi. "He loved his family. That was the main ingredient that kept him going."
Other survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Conradi of Villa Hills; a son, Dave of Villa Hills; a brother, Ralph Conradi of Edgewood, and five grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church in Villa Hills.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger.
Burial will be at St. Mary's cemetery in Fort Mitchell.

Eva Catherine Alsip, 84, of Carrollton, died Tuesday at Norton's Hospital in Louisville. She was a retired employee of Teledyne Wirz. Her husband, James V. Alsip, died in 1967.
Survivors include daughters, Janice Johnson of New Jersey, Linda Hendershot of Georgetown, Ind., and Shelby Rodgers of Louisville; sons, James Alsip of Carrollton and Jerry Alsip of Madisonville; her stepmother, Madell Taylor of Kings Mountain; brothers, Kenneth Taylor and Ronald Lee Taylor, both of Sidney, Ohio, Jimmy Taylor, Roscoe Taylor and Donald Taylor, all of Kings Mountain, and Charles Taylor of Eubank; sisters, Glenna Wilma Dobbs, Nina Bertsch, Linda Tucker and Wilma Graham, all of Sindey, Luada Leish of Danville, Ill., Diane Wilson of Sanford, Janice Wells of Eubank, Francis Snow of Dayton and Tresa Cook of Minford; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Carrollton First Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Carrollton. Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton, is handling arrangements.
Frances W. Bartels, 91, of Alexandria, died Tuesday at Carmel Manor Nursing Home, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Philip Church in Melbourne, Northern Kentucky Seniors and the Belles and Bows Seniors. Her husband, Walter Bartels, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Carl Bartels of Alexandria; a daughter, Judy Holloway of Silver Grove; a sister, Elizabeth Fender of Flemingsburg; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Philip Church. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Friday at A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Reba Price Ellis, 89, of Florence, died at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Constance Christian Church. She worked a family-owned grocery store in Constance and the Constance Post Office, and was a member of the Florence Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, Edward Boyd Ellis, died in 1989. A son, Edward Boyd Ellis Jr., died in 1941.
Survivors include a daughter, Hope Kinman of Hebron; a son, Dennis Ellis of Burlington; a sister, Della Marie Short of Oneida, Tenn.; brothers, Ralph Price Powell of Tennessee and Jim Price of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Hebron Lutheran Cemetery. Anne DuVal Hildreth, 98, of Villa Hills, died at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. She was a homemaker and a member of Fort Mitchell Baptist Church. She held several offices with the Kenton County PTA and was a member of Gideon's International Auxiliary. She was former member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Covington, where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the church choir and a soloist. Her husband, Charles S. Hildreth, died in 1980.
Survivors include sons, Charles David Hildreth of Montevallo, Ala., and James Stuart Hildreth of Edgewood; a brother, James D. DuVal of Spruce Pine, N.C.; a sister, Ruth J. Williams of Erlanger; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Fort Mitchell Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Ruth A. Johnson, 78, of Highland Heights, died Wednesday at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Woodie Johnson; a daughter, Nancy Lagedrost of Alexandria; a son, Woody Johnson of Alexandria; a brother, Jack Neal of Lakeland, Fla.; sisters, Ann Adams of Camp Springs and Betty Gunning of Highland Heights; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Friday. Entombment will be in St. Stephen Mausoleum, Fort Thomas. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Mary Delona Jump, 93, of Dry Ridge, died Monday at Grant Manor Health Care Center, Williamstown. She was a retired nurse's aide and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, Dry Ridge. Her husband, Elmer Jump, died in 1961. A son, Elmer "Bud" Clifton, died in 1999.
Survivors include daughters, Betty Gutman of Corinth, Hazel Birmingham of Norwood, Ohio, and Nadine Buchanan of Greenville, N.C.; sons, Leonard Clifton Jr. of Walton, Bobby Ray Clifton of Dallas and Jesse Lee Clifton of Copeville, Texas; a stepson, Harry M. Jump of Mount Zion; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. George Michael Overby, 55, of Bromley, died Wednesday at his home. He was a salesman with Cline Chrysler in Southgate.
Survivors include his mother, Dolores Volponi of Independence.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Peach Grove Cemetery.
