Daniel Hucker, adventurous spirit lived his life to fullest
A copy of a videotape that Daniel N. Hucker sent to the "Survivor" television program to try out for a role will be played at his funeral Tuesday.
"It shows his adventurous spirit, " said Mr. Hucker's sister, Melinda Trevor of Erlanger. "He liked to have high-spirited fun."
Mr. Hucker, 47, of Erlanger, was killed Friday in a tractor-trailer collision on Interstate 75 near Williamstown.
He was a truck driver for Domino's Pizza.
Mr. Hucker was an Army veteran who served a year in Korea.
"Dan was the kind of person who drew people to him, " said Mrs. Trevor. "He loved life, and he lived life to the fullest.
"He liked to sky dive, ride a motorcycle, drive a quad, go camping and rappel at Red River Gorge. He was an avid body-builder who constantly worked out.
"He was the kind of person who would do anything that anybody asked of him. If anybody was in need, my brother was there to do it for him. All you had to do was ask."
Other survivors include two sons, Brandon and Brogen; a sister, Connie Hucker; three brothers, Raymond, Ben and Robert, and his mother, Jeannie McManus Hucker, all of Erlanger.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Erlanger.
Funeral services will be at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Robert Allen Baynum, 59, of Crestview, died Friday at home. He was a service technician for CAFCO, and a member of the Father DeJaco 5250 Knights of Columbus, Sun Valley, and the Catholic Order of Foresters #1492, California.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine "Sis" Baynum of Crestview; his mother and father, Harold and Clara Baynum of California; sons Donald "Pee Wee" Baynum of Alexandria and Jeffrey Baynum of California; a daughter, Shelia Hofsterrer of California; brothers James Baynum of Alexandria, Michael Baynum of California, Ronald Baynum of Edgewood, and Timothy Baynum of California; sisters Sandra Bezold of California, Kathleen Neises of Camp Springs, and Patricia Schultz of Dry Ridge; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at SS. Peter and Paul Church, California. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, California.
Cora Morgan Bradford, 82, of Maysville, died Friday at Meadowview Regional Center, Maysville. She was a retired homemaker and a member of the Seddon United Methodist Church. Her husband, Cecil Woodrow Bradford, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters Carolyn Mace of Tampa, Fla., Bonnie Reed of Salyersville, Wanda Gilkerson and Pam Reese, both of Maysville, and Betty Mullikin of Murphysville; sons Cecil Bradford of Crittenden, Richard Bradford of Brooksville, Elmer Bradford of Mount Washington, Johnny Bradford of Maysville, and William Bradford of Sand Hill; sisters Gertrude Allen of Owensville, Ohio, and Margaret Ricketts of Vanceburg; 29 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Seddon United Methodist Church, Maysville. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today and from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brell & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Manchester Cemetery.
Owen Robert Ferguson, 28 days, of Elsmere, died Friday at Children's Hospital, Cincinnati. A sister, Mallory James Ferguson, died in September.
Survivors include his parents, James Bradley Ferguson and Stacy Lynn Ferguson of Elsmere; a brother, Bradley Ferguson of Elsmere; maternal grandparents, Mike and Suzanne Putthoff of Burlington; and paternal grandmother, Sharon Ferguson of Florence.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Good Samaritan Hospital Department of Neonatology, 375 Dixmyth Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio, 45220. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron, is in charge of arrangements.
Alpha Parrett Floyd, 93, of Taylor Mill, died Saturday at Twin Towers Care Center, Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a homemaker and member of Community Pentecostal Church. Her husband, James A. Floyd, died in 1989.
Survivors include daughters Irene Pace of Flint, Texas, Nancy Fatum of Tucson, Ariz., Faye McIntosh of Walton, and Betty Muldoon of Fort Wright; sons Paul Fred Carlisle of Independence and Rev. James E. Floyd of Union; a sister, Bessie Lake of Bond; 11 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Allison & Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Garden, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's association.
Delmar Fox, 62, of Carrollton, died Friday at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton. He was a retired farmer and a member of the United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Leona Fox of Carrollton; a daughter, Vanessa Fox of Carrollton; sons Rodney and Tim Fox, both of Carrollton, and Elmer Logan Fox of Louisville; sisters Mary Smith of Turners Station, Wilma Jean Hensley and Stella Jackson, both of Carrollton, and Loretta Thevenow of Madison, Ind.; brothers Simmon Fox Jr. and Taylor Fox Sr., both of Carrollton, and George Fox of Bedford; and nine grandchildren.

Elsie Dean Clark Kearns, 94, of Cynthiana, died Saturday at Harrison County Hospital, Cynthiana. She was a retired employee of Webber and Ken's New Market, a member of the First United Church of Cynthiana, the woman's club of Harrison County, the Thursday Club, the Democratic Woman's Club and the Rebekah Arlington Lodge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Kearns.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Hollar Smith of Cynthiana; a sister, Cornelle Fronk of Paris, two grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Joseph Peter "Joey" Laber, 22, of Fort Thomas, died Saturday. He was a former soccer player at Highlands High School and for other area teams, a pilot for ASAP Aviation, Cincinnati, and a former pilot and guide in Alaska.
Survivors include his parents, Stephen and Mary Stross Laber of Fort Thomas; sisters Sarah Steiby and Beth Laber, both of Fort Thomas; brothers Greg Laber of Southgate, Jeff Laber of Fort Thomas and David Laber of Athens, Ohio; and his grandparents, Charles and Helen Stross of Burlington and Charles and Janet Laber of Fort Thomas.

Russell "Rusty" Lippert, 38, of Newport, died Saturday in Highland Heights. He was an electrician, and a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, Cold Spring.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Marjorie and Guy Schetange, of Alexandria; sisters Deborah Miller, Penny Kaufman and Mary Steinman, all of Alexandria; brothers Leroy Lippert Jr. of Independence, Michael Lippert of Florence, and Greg Lippert and Homer Lippert, both of Alexandria.

Elizabeth J. "Bets" McFarlan, 76, of Fort Thomas, died Saturday. She was a school teacher and a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Fort Thomas, the Garden Club of Fort Thomas, the Kappa Alpha Theata Alumni Association, and the Cosmopolitan Club, Fort Thomas.
Survivors include her husband, James P. McFarlan; sons James Powell "Jeep" McFarlan of Fort Thomas and Douglas McFarlan of Lexington; a daughter, Elizabeth "Betsy" Borders of Munfordville; and seven grandchildren.

William F. Miller Jr., 90, of Covington, died Saturday at his home. He was a retired inspector for General Electric, and a member of Bradford Lodge #123, Independence, and American Legion Post #203, Covington.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy J. Smith-Landis of Covington, a son, William L. Miller of Fairview; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Allison & Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
Robert Orme, 39, of Butler, died Friday in a truck wreck in Williamstown. He was a member of Salemn Ridge Church, Germantown.
Survivors include his wife, Shelly Orme of Butler; father, Harold Orme of Lexington; a daughter, Felicia Orme of Butler; and a sister, Benita Fifer of Wilder.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery.
John William "Jack" Stratman, 84, of Covington, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired clerk for L&N; Railroad with 44 years of service and an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Rita Arens Stratman, died in 1996, and a son, Paul William Stratman, died in 2000.
Survivors include daughters Judy Mark of Covington, Carol Sittason of Florence, Jean Kilma of Cleveland, and Marcia Gilbert of Covington; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Services were Saturday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home. Burial was in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.
J.C. Vannarsdall, 89, of Florence, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Covington. He was a baker for Klosterman's and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Louella Vannarsdall of Florence, daughters Rosalind Caldwell of Amelia, Ohio, and Brenda Landrum of Elsmere; a son, Terry Vannarsdall of Florence; a sister, Bea Perkins of Owenton; brothers Amos Vannarsdall of Georgetown and Carey Vannarsdall of Jonesville; stepdaughters Lynda Agee of Burlington, Genny Horton of Union, and Alice Marksberry of Florence; a stepson, Mike Marksberry of Anderson Township, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger.
