Stacy Henricksen, loved education
Stacy Schadler Henricksen was an award-winning teacher at Scott High School in Taylor Mill.
"She absolutely loved education, " said Mrs. Henricksen's husband, George Henricksen.
"She lived for world history."
Mrs. Henricksen, 49, of Cold Spring, died Wednesday of cancer at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.
She taught 26 years at Scott High School, where she was dean of women, girls basketball coach and boys golf coach.
Mrs. Henricksen was a recipient of the "Who's Who Teacher of Northern Kentucky" award.
She was a graduate of Northern Kentucky University and earned her master's degree in history at Xavier University.
Mrs. Henricksen taught at Scott through 2002, but was unable to return after that because of cancer, which she battled for 22 months.
"Two words sum her up: 'Wonderful lady, '" said her husband.
"She was the most precious person in my life. She was the best. A perfect person."
Mrs. Henricksen was a "giver, " said her husband.
"She wanted to help everybody else to her last dying day, " he said.
"She was always concerned about everybody else."
Mrs. Henricksen's hobbies were playing golf and reading books.
"She would read a book a day, " said her husband.
Other survivors include a daughter, Kelsey McKee of Cold Spring, and two sisters, Gayla Sherman of Erlanger and Lynsey Foley of Mason, Ohio.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Swindler & Currin Funeral Home in Latonia.
Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Josephine H. Bradford, 82, of Augusta, died Wednesday at her home.
She was an owner of Bradford's Home Mart in Augusta.
Survivors include daughters, Carol Chamblee and Ellen Moore; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Augusta.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Norma Jean Caton, 72, of Erlanger, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
She was a retired treasurer with Michaels Art Bronze Co., Erlanger, and a member of Erlanger Baptist Church.
Her husband, William C. Caton, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Onkst of Erlanger; sisters, Melva Marshall of Roswell, Ga., Marian Steen of Louisville and Lucille Curtis of Danville; and two grandsons.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Forest Lawn cemetery Chapel, Erlanger.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger.
Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Mausoleum, Erlanger.

Margaret Chandler, 60, of Williamstown, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Grant County, Williamstown.
Arrangements are pending at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.
Jeanne O'Brien, 86, of Fort Thomas, died Wednesday at Highlands of Fort Thomas nursing home.
She was a homemaker and president of the Guardian Guild of the Catholic Children's Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Smith of Cincinnati, and a grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Stephen cemetery Chapel, Fort Thomas.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.

Harold B. Sterneberg, 84, of Ryland, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday at Highlands of Fort Thomas nursing home.
He was a retired vice president and an owner of Bahrs Die and Stamping Co. Inc., Cincinnati, a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and Ryland Lakes Country Club, and a volunteer with Action Ministries, Methodist Men and the Ryland Heights Fire Board.
He played both football and basketball at the University of Cincinnati and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary I. Cortright Sterneberg; sons, John C. Sterneberg of Loveland, Ohio, and Dr. Steven B. Sterneberg of Ryland; daughters, Sally A. Kunkel and Sue J. Dawkins, both of Ryland; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Ryland.
A reception will follow at Ryland Lakes Country Club.
Mr. Sterneberg bequeathed his body to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Jane Blakely Woodrough, 94, of Largo, Fla., formerly of Fort Mitchell, died Wednesday at Sabal Palms Health Care Center in Largo.
She was a retired office manager with Chase Metals, and a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell, and St. Cecelia and St. Catherine churches in Largo.
Survivors include a son, Stephens B. Woodrough of St. Petersburg, Fla.; daughters, Laura W. Steneck of Belleair, Fla., and Susan W. Purdy of Oakland Township, Mich.; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.
