Mary Blanche Hahn, antique shop owner

Mary Blanche Kunkel Hahn, a native of Lakeside Park, owned and operated the Central Antique Shop in Cincinnati from the late 1940s until her retirement in the early 1980s.

"Her life was her antiques, " said her sister-in-law, Blanche Kunkel of Florence.

"She was very knowledgeable about them."

Ms. Hahn, 87, who died Thursday at Villaspring Care Center, Erlanger, was one of 14 children.

All the girls in her Roman Catholic family were named "Mary" and all the boys "Joseph."

She lived in apartments in Covington or Cincinnati while she ran her antique business, then moved back to the home she grew up in on Turkeyfoot Road in 1981.

When the house got too big for her to handle in 1991, she moved to the Florence Christian Home.

She helped prepare the weekly Mass at the center, and was also a member of St. Paul Church.

She always had a smile on her face, Kunkel said.

Other survivors include sisters, Mary Therese Minor of Reading, Ohio, Mary Eileen "Hinze" Kunkel of Albion, Calif., and Mary L. Sue Zimmerman of Florence.

Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Tuesday at St. Paul Church.

Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul Church, 7301 Dixie Highway, Florence, Ky. 41042.

Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger, is handling arrangements.

Robert E. Beattie, 67, of Florence, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.

He was a retired store order clerk with Cinergy.

Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Beattie; sons, R. David Jones of San Francisco and Timothy K. Jones of Greendale, Ind.; a daughter, Deborah Jo Durr of Richwood; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Richwood Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.

Burial will be in Richwood Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Richwood Presbyterian Church, 1070 Richwood Road, Walton, Ky. 41094.

Margaret West Chandler, 60, of Williamstown, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Grant County, Williamstown.

She was an insurance agent with Wethington Insurance Agency Inc. in Walton, an Avon distributor and member of Williamstown Christian Church.

She was a member of Williamstown Order of the Eastern Star No. 301, and a former mother adviser with Eagle Assembly No. 50 Order of Rainbow Girls.

Survivors include her husband, Virgil Chandler Sr.; sons, Virgil Chandler Jr. and William Chandler, both of Williamstown; a daughter, Angie Chandler of Bardstown; a sister, Valadine Marsh of Williamstown; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.

Visitation will from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, with Eastern Star services at 7 p.m.

Burial will be in Williamstown Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, Ky. 40502; or National Kidney Foundation, 250 E. Liberty St., Suite 710, Louisville, Ky. 40202.

Dr. Chapin Hawley, 88, of Newport, died Thursday at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati.

He was a radiologist both with Christ Hospital and in private practice, a fellow of the American College of Radiology and past president of both the Cincinnati and Ohio radiological societies.

He was a member of the Church of the Advent, the Camargo Club and the Cincinnati Country Club.

His wife, Ann Powell Hawley, died in 1973.

Survivors include daughters, Susan Kelly of Greenwich, Conn., Robin Wood of New Providence, N.J., and Courtney Newell of Chester, Va.; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.

Memorials are suggested to Church of the Advent, 2366 Kemper Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206; or Christ Hospital, 2139 Auburn Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.

Robert M. Dunaway, 84, of Newport, died Friday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Cincinnati.

He was a retired maintenance worker with the City of Newport and a custodian with the Newport Board of Education.

Survivors include his wife, Della Dunaway; daughters, Patricia Dorgan of Elsmere, Donna Usleaman of Newport, Joy Goe of Dillsboro, Ind., and Robbin Sweigart of Pendleton County; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Full Gospel Assembly Church, Newport.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport.

Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Anna Margaret Faigle, 89, of Covington, died Wednesday at St. Charles Care Center, Covington.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Augustine Church, Covington.

Her husband, Norbert G. Faigle, preceded her in death.

Survivors include daughters, Mary Jo Dahloff of Erlanger and Barbara Ann Willis of White Villa; sons, Thomas N. Faigle and Richard G. Faigle, both of Covington, William G. Faigle of Villa Hills, Kenneth L. Faigle of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Lawrence D. Faigle of Independence and Ted Faigle of Philadelphia; sisters, Lillian Schneider of Bellevue and Alice Lowry of Kentonvale; a brother, Joseph Feiler of Bellevue; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Augustine Church.

Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m.

Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.

Maurice David Haley, 96, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Fort Wright, died Tuesday at his daughter's home in Fort Myers. He was a retired service technician with Cincinnati Gas and Electric, and a former owner of Skyline Drive-In Restaurant in Florence.

He was a member of St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright. His wife, Virginia M. Kordonbrock Haley, died in 2001.

Survivors include his daughter, Maureen Stewart; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington.

Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Gladys D. MacDonald, 83, of Covington, died Friday at Lakeside Heights Care Center, Highland Heights.

She was a homemaker and a member of Epworth Methodist Church, Covington, where she was a former trustee and school superintendent.

Her husband, Andrew "Sonny" MacDonald, died in 1978. A son, Timothy MacDonald, died in 1993.

Survivors include sisters, Donna Harmon of Cincinnati and Mildred Maxwell of Hebron; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Memorials are suggested to Epworth Methodist Church, 1229 Highway Ave., Covington, Ky. 41011.

Richard Lee Secrist, 44, of Southgate, died Wednesday at his home.

Arrangements are pending at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas.

Peggy Woeste, 75, of California, died Wednesday at Thornton Hospital, University of San Diego, Calif.

She was a former owner of Art's Food Market in Alexandria and a retired assistant vice president with Provident Bank.

Survivors include her husband, Art Woeste; sons, Garry Woeste and Bob Woeste, both of California; a daughter, Marylu Steffen of Alexandria; a sister, Rosie Carmack of Alexandria; and six grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Peter and Paul Church, California.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick.

Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Alexandria.

Memorials are suggested to St. Peter and Paul Church Building Fund, 2162 California Crossroads, California, Ky. 41007.
