Vestal Liedhegner, classy lady
Vestal McNabb Liedhegner was a classy lady.
Her husband Roy said she took pride in dressing nicely and keeping a neat appearance.
"She was just a very dignified, high-class woman, " he said.
Mrs. Liedhegner, 93, of Fort Mitchell, died Sunday at Villasprings Care Center, Erlanger.
While she was sophisticated, her husband said that didn't mean she was overly prim and proper.
He said she was fun for both children and adults to be around.
When her grandchildren were little, she used to get down on the floor and play dolls and games with them.
Mrs. Liedhegner also enjoyed socializing at the Fort Mitchell Country Club, where she was a member. She also used to look forward to traveling with a group of 20 friends every year to the state high school basketball tournament.
Her activities included collecting antique china, so much so that she was a member of the Tealeaf International Club. She also enjoyed gardening, golfing and traveling.
Mr. Liedhegner said they used to combine the latter two activities, packing up their clubs and traveling to Hawaii, Mexico and Puerto Rico for golf vacations.
She also was a retired secretary from Equifax and a member of Fort Mitchell Baptist Church and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Her first husband, Edgar McNabb, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Liedhegner; sons, Ed McNabb of Carrollton, Ohio, and Lou McNabb of Worthington, Ohio; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Alberta Wiedemann Alsip, 78, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Matthew's Church, Kenton County. Her husband, Dillard "Whitey" Alsip, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Neil Alsip; a daughter, Sandy Jackson; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew's Church, Kenton County. There will be no visitation. Mrs. Alsip's body will be donated to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Lillian Mae Wilson Cummins, 87, of Stamping Ground, died Saturday at Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Lawrenceburg . She was a member of Hilltop Church of Christ, Covington. Her husband, Joseph Early Cummins, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Pamela Johnson of Stamping Ground and Carol Coughlan of Catonsville, Md.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson's Funeral Home, Georgetown. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Minorsville Cemetery, Stamping Ground.
Carol E. Farmer, 66, of Stanford, died Saturday at University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was retired from Centre College, Danville and a member of Latonia Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, W.D. Farmer; a son, Bill Farmer of Stanford; a daughter, Melissa Carter of Somerset; sisters, Alma Angel of Taylor Mill, Marsha Crouch of Ryland Heights, and Linda Oldiges of Independence; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Spurlin Funeral Home, Stanford. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, Ga. 30368.
Melvin Andrew Henry, 77, of Warsaw, died Monday at his residence. He was a retired fire chief and a member of the Warsaw Baptist Church, Warsaw City Council, and a Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Hope Klopp; a daughter, Lisa Ferguson of Union; a sister, Dorothy Alcorn of Union; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will begin there at noon Thursday. Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Warsaw Baptist Church Building Fund, 106 W High St., Warsaw, Ky. 41095.
Rosetta Huddleston, 53, of Covington, died Thursday in Louisville. She was employed by CSX Railroad. Her son, Jemel Huddleston, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Kila Macklin and Nakia Huddleston, both of Louisville; brothers, David Hunter and Pete Hunter, both of Dayton, Ohio, and Dickie Hunter of Covington; and sisters, Mary Jane Lewis and Luddie Robinson, both of Covington.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ninth Street Baptist Church, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Mary Smith Cemetery, Elsmere. Jones, Simpson & Gee Funeral Home, Covington, is handling the arrangements.
Wayne Kinnison, 54, of Covington, died Monday at his residence. He was a travel agent with American Airlines.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Hoffrogge of Florence; his stepfather, Edward "Pop" Hoffrogge of Florence; aunts, Patti Hercutt of Gatlinburg, Tenn., and Nancy Madewell of West Alexandria, Ohio; and best friend, Tom Reiff of Fairfield, Ohio.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger.
Thomas H. Pauly, 56, of Lexington, formerly of Covington, died Monday. He was director of neonatology at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Kathleen Sullivan Pauly; sons, Mack Pauly and Sam Pauly, both of Lexington; a daughter, Allison Pauly of Lexington; his parents, Howard and Marian Pauly of Fort Mitchell; brothers, Robert Pauly, James Pauly, and John Pauly; and sisters, Nancy Pauly Brinker and Liz Sullivan.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ Church Episcopal Church, Lexington. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Della R. Traylor, 90, of Newport, formerly of Alexandria, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Roy Lowry of Kentucky, and a daughter, Nancy Dye of Kentucky; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
