Carol Lee Goins loved giving, grandchildren
Carol Lee Goins loved giving to other people, but she considered the greatest gifts those to her grandchildren.
She made baby quilts for each of them, and she took every opportunity to spend time with them.
To a granddaughter, she passed on her love for sewing.
A grandson she taught how to play chess.
With a younger grandson, who had not the patience for such a deliberate game, she played video games, and with a 3-year-old granddaughter, she played dollies.
"She loved her grandchildren; they were the greatest thing to her, " said a daughter, Jeanne VanDusen of Cov-ington. "Almost every sporting event they were in, she went to."

She was a medical technologist for 30 years at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. Retirement in 2000 gave her more time for the Licking Valley Quilters, of which she was a member 20 years; and for her church work at Blessed Sacrament parish in Fort Mitchell, where she was in the choir and guitar group, made blankets for needy people and did lots of fund-raising.
She was also a volunteer for several years for Meals on Wheels.
"She was a very giving person. I think that came from her upbringing, from her mother, " said VanDusen.
