Terry Ray Williams, a Vietnam War veteran
Terry Ray "Terry Berry" Williams was a Vietnam Veteran, a motorcycle enthusiast and an avid gun and knife collector.
Mr. Williams, 59, of Visalia, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
He was greenskeeper at the former Beechland Golf Course in Boone County and a member of Fort Mitchell Baptist Church.
"He loved motorcycles and used to ride his motorcycle all around the golf course when he was younger, " said his mother, Elsie Williams of Walton. "He didn't ride them much when he got older, but he wouldn't part with them."
Mr. Williams was a graduate of Boone County High School, where he ran track.
He fought with the 196th Army Light Brigade in Vietnam and defended the "Iron Triangle."
He was a gun collector and also had an extensive knife collection.
Other survivors include his wife, Claudia Williams; a son, Terry Williams, II, of Visalia; daughters, Robin Williams, Shelley Williams, and Tina Williams, all of Walton; brothers, Ronald E. Williams of Walton and Ted Williams, Jr., of Covington; a sister, Betty Grimme of Walton; and 13 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Carol Jean Allen, 59, of Owenton, died Wednesday at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Allen; sons, Edger Rose of Trimble County, Scott Rose and John Rose, both of Owen County, Alex Rose of Owenton, and Adam Rose of Carrollton; daughters, Christina Wilson and Patsy Cron, both of Owen County, Paula Law of Campbellsburg, and Kelly Stephens of Versailles, Ind.; two stepsons, Larry Ray Allen of Baltimore, Md., and Gary Wayne Allen of Dearborn County, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Pamela Sue Allen of Ripley County, Ind.; 40 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today and at 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Moffett Cemetery, Trimble County.
Andrew F. Baldwin, 68, of Lexington, died Tuesday at the V.A. Hospital, Lexington. He was retired from NCR, Lexington, and an Army veteran. His wife, Marie Harney Baldwin, preceded him in death.
Survivors include sons, Keith A. Baldwin of Louisville and James E. Baldwin of Lexington; and a brother, Jack Baldwin of Louisville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry. Visitation will begin there at noon today. Burial will be in Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, Ky. 40504.
Chris Martin Balmer, 68, of Covington, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was a retired nurse's associate from St. Elizabeth Medical Center North and a member of Jeannie's Social Club, Latonia, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Balmer; sons, Daniel Martin of Cleveland, Ohio, and Troy Martin of Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter, Diane Hemling of Beaver Dam, Wis.; a sister, Margie L. Brown of Covington; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Mary C. Farrell Campbell, 74, of Port Orange, Fla., formerly of Elsmere, died Wednesday at Halifax Hospital, Daytona Beach, Fla. She was retired from NuTone, Inc. and a member of Erlanger Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Donald S. Campbell; sons, Dennis J. Hunter of Orlando, Fla., Kenneth R. Hunter of Melbourne, Fla., Donald S. Campbell of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Glenn W. Campbell of Walton, and D. Scott Campbell of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Donna Campbell Golub of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; a brother, Joseph A. Farrell of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and 10 grandchildren.

Harvey Richard "Joe" Cordray, 93, of Falmouth, died Thursday at Edgemont Manor Nursing Home, Cynthiana. He was retired from the 3M Company and a member of Oakland Christian Church, Pendleton County, and Pendleton County Senior Citizens. His wife, Louise Shelton Cordray, preceded him in death.
Survivors include brothers, Everett "Jiggs" Cordray of Falmouth and Melvin Cordray of Fort Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.

Eva Easter Crowe, 90, of Newport, formerly of Winchester, died Thursday at Audubon Hospital, Louisville. She was a retired clerical tax preparer from H&R; Block.
Survivors include a brother, Edward Easton of Hawthorne, Calif.; a niece, Evelyn Brinley of Louisville; a great-nephew, Hubert Brinley of Louisville; and great-nieces, Judy Pittelko and Jennifer Jones, both of Louisville.

Virginia Rose Shackelford Downard, 72, of Newport, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a retired vending hostess from Howard Derringer Co., Cincinnati, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Gertrude Chapter No. 19, Newport. Her son, Michael Shepherd, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Kimberly Smith and Connie Turner, both of Newport; brothers, Wayne Shackelford of Elsmere, Lloyd Shackelford of Alexandria, and Elwood Shackelford of Florida; a sister, Joan Shackelford of Richmond; and five grandchildren.

Gerald D. "Jerry" Ellison, 66, of Atlanta, Ga., formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Oct. 16 in Atlanta.
Survivors include a son, John Ellison of Atlanta, Ga.; his mother, Edith Doll of Latonia; brothers, Gilbert Gadby of Fairfield, Ohio, and Richard Gadby of Copley, Ohio; and a sister, Rita Hodke of Latonia.

Evelyn Faller, 82, of Fort Thomas, died Thursday at Highland Crossing Care Center, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a nephew, Len Jacob of Loveland, Ohio; nieces, Janice Copfer of Mount Washington, Ohio, and Peggy Neinaber of Cincinnati; and a cousin, Eva Ann Welms of Cincinnati.

Laura Marie Farmer, 45, of Hamilton, Ohio, formerly of Covington, died Wednesday at Jewish Hospital. She was a factory worker at Standard Textiles, Cincinnati.
Survivors include a son, Jammie Mullins of Fort Mitchell; a daughter, Desirae Hertel of Cincinnati; sisters, Sharon Jent, Maxine Born, and Denise Sloane, all of Hindman; and two grandchildren.

Dr. Lawrence Funke, 55, of Baltimore, Md., died Oct. 5. He was the head of the chemistry department at Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, and the chair of the chemistry department at the College of Notre Dame, Baltimore, Md. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, a Boy Scout leader, and a volunteer for the N Street Village.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Laverty Funke; a son, Larry Funke; his mother, Dorothy Funke of Northern Kentucky; brothers, Bill Funke and Paul Funke; and a sister, Dorothy Hayes.

Philip G. Higgins, 62, of Melbourne, Fla., formerly of Dayton, died Thursday. He was a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the V.F.W., Satellite Beach, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Higgins; sons, Philip Higgins of Viera, Fla. and James Higgins of Melbourne, Fla.; daughters, Trinity Muehlberger of Tokyo, Japan, Mary Higgins and Dottie Higgins, both of Melbourne, Fla.; brothers, Edward M. Higgins of Lexington and James M. Higgins of Fort Thomas; sisters, Deborah A. Ramey of Fort Thomas and Patricia L. Markus of Alexandria; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the V.F.W. Post, Satellite Beach, Fla. Mr. Higgins will be cremated. Davis Funeral Home, Melbourne, Fla., is handling the arrangements.
Harlan Iles, 71, of Covington, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington.

Edward Thomas "Junior" Jones, Jr., 59, of Cynthiana, died Oct. 13 at his residence. He was a retired painter and an Army veteran.
Survivors include a son, Brian Jones of Massachusetts; a daughter, Angela Howell of Lancaster; a brother, Terry Jones of Bourbon County; sisters, Shelby Doyle, Doris Reeves, and Roxie Wiglesworth, all of Harrison County; and one grandchild.

Gerald Lee Norton, Sr., 64, of Covington, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. He was retired from the Board of the Directors of the Emergency Food Center, Cincinnati.
Survivors include sons, Gerald Lee Norton, Jr., of Findlay, Ohio, and Erik Scott Norton of Covington; daughters, Cirrena Norton of Findlay, Ohio, and Melissa Norton of Florence; a brother, Larry Norton of Marshall, Va.; sisters, Sandra Lovelace of Morrow, Ohio, and Betty Waters of Taylor Mill; and many grandchildren.

Noah V. "Jack" Reed, 87, of Mount Olivet, died Thursday at Harrison Memorial Hospital, Cynthiana. He was a retired carpenter and school bus driver from the Robertson County School System, a Robertson County magistrate, and a member of the Mount Olivet Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella Fulton Reed, and several nieces and nephews.
