Mary Lynn Taylor, loved hiking and weaving baskets
Mary Lynn Taylor loved spending a week every summer hiking at state parks with her husband, Chuck.
The two would go to Carter Caves in northeastern Kentucky, or another park at least once a year and hike all day, sitting around in a rented cottage and relaxing at night.
"We were together for 30 years, " he said. "We had a great relationship. We were best friends, great lovers and great confidants. We could talk about anything."
Mrs. Taylor, 55, of Southgate, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was born Jan. 11, 1949 in Dayton.
The couple also enjoyed visiting friends on Haven Island in Michigan every summer and attending the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks with other couples every year, he said.
In Cincinnati, they'd go to the symphony, operas and musicals at the Aronoff Center.
"We did everything for fun, " he said.
Mrs. Taylor enjoyed weaving baskets that she would give to friends and keep for herself.
She also was passionate about animals, including her dog, Gus, and six cats, Hattie, April, Simon, Lewis, Pink and Albert. She was a member of the Animal Welfare Society of Northern Kentucky.
Her husband described her as "outgoing, vibrant and well-liked."
She was an office employee with Patient First's corporate office in Crestview Hills.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by sisters, Joan Keairns of Newport and Patty Kuntz of Melbourne.
Memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Visitation will begin there at 2 p.m. Saturday. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Ronnie Adams, 50, of Newport, died Thursday at Lakeside Heights Rehabilitation Center, Highland Heights. He was disabled.
Survivors include his mother, Nannie Griffith of Newport; and sisters, Joann Carrington of Ohio, Pricillia Ross of Elsmere, Judith Adams, Marcella Fulton, and Jeanette Fields, all of Newport, and Lisa Adams of Highland Heights.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Johs Hill Cemetery, Highland Heights.
Kenneth A. Burton, 47, of Cincinnati, formerly of Ludlow, died Friday at his residence. He was disabled and a member of the First Baptist Church of Ludlow. A stepson, James McCoon, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his fianc�e, Clara M. McCoon of Cincinnati; daughters, Melissa Ann Burton of Florence and Stephanie Marie Gibbons of Hebron; stepsons, William McCoon and Joseph McCoon, both of Cincinnati; a stepdaughter, Sandall Weinberg of Cincinnati; a brother, Steven Burton of Hawaii; one grandchild and five step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Ludlow. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
Donald Lee Craven Sr., 65, of Williamstown, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired book binder from Hennegan Printing, Florence.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Albrecht Craven; a son, Donald Lee Craven Jr. of Walton; stepsons, Timothy Huff of Florence and Richard Huff of Hamilton, Ohio; a brother, Howard Craven of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters, Vera Daniel of Lady Lake, Fla., and Donna Roberts of Lehigh, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Daniel Crawford, 57, of Ludlow, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. He was an auto body technician.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Crawford; a son, Danny Crawford of Villa Hills; a daughter, Diana Gaupel of Ludlow; and three grandchildren.
Cremation Society of Greater Cincinnati is serving the family.
Charles "Bud" Dick, 77, of Covington, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Covington. He was a retired machinist from Equitable Bag Co., an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the Col. Clay Masonic Lodge No. 159, Covington. His first wife, Virginia "Gee" Dick, and his son, Mark Dick, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn White Dick; a daughter, Sherry Earl of Erlanger; a sister, Zonia Bryant of Ludlow; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Robert G. "Bob" Farney, 90, of Covington, died Sunday at the V.A. Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a retired mechanic and owner of Farney Service Station, Covington, and an Army veteran. He was a mason and a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Covington, and Kenton Game and Fish Association. His son, Michael Robert Farney, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Patte Farney of Covington; and one grandchild.

Mae E. Highhouse, 77, of Fort Thomas, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Michael Brooks of Cincinnati; a daughter, Billie Smithson of Fort Thomas; a sister, Dorothy Pulliam of Melbourne; and three grandchildren.

Mary Elizabeth James, 88, of Dry Ridge, died Saturday at Parrish Medical Center, Titusville, Fla. She was retired from Fryman's Grocery and Freezer Plant, Dry Ridge, and was a member of Stonewall First Church of God, Sadieville. Her husband, Ollie Jones, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Richard James of Williamstown; daughters, Kathleen Courtney of Titusville, Fla., Gerri Prather of Crittenden, Caroline Messer of Walton, Marie Gauspohl of Newport, and Louise Sadler of Berry; brothers, Ray Hollon and Leslie Hollon, both of Campton; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mary Frances McMillan, 78, of Erlanger, formerly of Harrison County, died Saturday at Village Care Center, Erlanger. She was a retired secretary and a member of Madison Avenue Christian Church, Covington. Her husband, Charles McMillan, preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Steve McMillan of Bonita Springs, Fla., Ron McMillan of Roscoe, Ill., and Gary McMillan of Santa Maria, Calif.; a daughter, Vickie Brisbin of Florence; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Virgil L. Walton, 68, of Burlington, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a retired service agent from Avis Rental Car and a member of Belleview Baptist Church, Burlington.

Georgia "Jewell" Weber, 78, of Fort Thomas, died Sunday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Edward Charles Weber, preceded her in death.
