George F. Abney
Anderson - George F. Abney, 81, Anderson, died March 31, 2004 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana after an extended illness.
He was born January 25, 1923 in Madison County, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. He lived in the Madison County Area all of his life.
He retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 39 years of service.
He received the Purple Heart while serving his country during WWII in the US Marine Corp.
He was a member of the Fall Creek Conservation Club, Marine Raiders, National Rifle Association and the UAW Local #662. He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, gardener and enjoyed being outdoors. He loved being a grandfather and great grandfather and was a wonderful husband and father to his children.
He is survived by his Wife who he married
March 10, 1945: Joan (Heath) Abney. Four Children: Michael & wife Debbie Abney of Anderson. Vici & husband Terry Schlabach of Wilkinson. Holly & husband Ross Fadely of Wilkinson. Shelley & husband Dan Calvert of Pendleton. Sister: Allamae Cram. Twelve Grandchildren and Fourteen Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces & Nephews. Special Friends: Junior & Sue Franklin. Gene & Joan Brumfield.
He was preceded by his Parents: George W. & Ruth (Franklin) Abney. Sister: Jane Castor.
Memorial Service will be Sunday, April 4, 2004 at 2:30 PM, at at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel; 200 W. 53rd Street; Anderson, with Rev. John Day officiating.
Cremation will take place.
Visitation will be from 12:30 - 2:30 PM on Sunday, April 4, 2004 at funeral home, south chapel.
Military rites will be by the VFW Post #266.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association.
Gipp Abney
Gipp Abney age 85, of Trip died 5AM Wednesday at 15 Sterling Street after a short illness. He was a native of Powell County, a member of the Railroad Brotherhood Lodge.
Survivors are a daughter Mrs. Lena Mae Crouch, Anderson, Ind.; a son Clayton Abney, and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Sophie Hisle and Mrs. Mary Holder, all of Clark County and a stepson Edward Estes, Estill County.
Services will be conducted at 10AM Friday at the Edgington Funeral Home by Rev John Chambers. Burial will be in the Pharis Hill Cemetery, Clark County. Bearers will be Thomas Crowe, Omer Center, Hubert Berryman, William Recotr, Russell King and Snowden Berryman. The body is at the funeral home where friends may call after 10AM today.
Glenn M. Abney Jr.

BRENHAM - Glenn M. Abney, 83, of Brenham died Thursday at Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. No services are planned. Local arrangements are under the direction of Brenham Memorial Chapel. Mr. Abney died Thursday. He was born in Donna and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a registered nurse. Survivors include his wife, (Randy) Mildred Abney of Brenham; a son, Glenn Maurice Abney III of Burnet; two daughters and sons - in - law, Ann and Kenneth Bevers of Chappell Hill and Glenda and Darrell Riegel of Maryville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and five great - grandchildren.

Goldie M. Abney (nee Turnbough) age 83, of Festus, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 in Festus, Missouri.
Goldie was born on October 31, 1920, in Potosi, Missouri. Goldie was a homemaker.
Goldie and her husband the Late David Abney were married

Gordon Abney, Sr., 86, of 543 7th Ave Sw, Graysville died Sunday. He was a veteran of WWI and was retired from Republic Steel. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gardendale Chapel, with burial in New Walkers Chapel Cemetery. Survivors include four sons, Gordon Abney, Jr., Birmingham, Frank Abney, St. Louis, Wesley Abney and Marvin Abney, both of New Orleans; three daughters, Mrs. Margie Tusa, Baton Rouge, Mrs. Francis Plaisance and Mrs. Marie Loyola, both of New Orleans, and a sister, Mrs. Edith Giamportone, Birmingham.

Gracie Abner passed away Tuesday at the Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was formerly of Teges and the Laurel Creek Health Care Center. She was a widow. Services for Gracie Abner will be Graveside, Thursday, October 21st, 2004 at 2 PM at the Hart's Branch cemetery in the Hart's Branch Community. Rev. Don Penner will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Hart's Branch cemetery in the Hart's Branch Community.

Faye Eunice Williams Abney
Faye Eunice Abney, 76, of Farmington, formerly of Steelville, died Oct 3 at Farmington. She was born August 17, 1915 in Steelville to the late Walter and Leatha Martin Williams.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Ralph Abney; two daughters; Franics Skaggs and Bonnie Skaggs Masters; one brother; Clyde Williams; two sisters Blanche Long and Francis Hawkins.
She is survived by one son; Eugene Abney of Steelville; three daughters; Betty Austin Gilliam of St. Peters, Gladys Calvert of Tempe, Arizona, Ann Schidler of Mesa, Arizona, one brother; Kenneth Williams of Cherryville, Mo. 14 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
Funeral is at 2 PM today at the Britton Funeral Home in Steelville, with the Rev Ed Gamble officiating. Burial will follow at the Czar cemetery in Steelville.
Floyd Abney
Floyd Abney, 72, widower of Elsie Abney, of 1641 Little Hardwicks Creek Road, Clay City, KY died Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at his residence following a long illness. He was a native of Estill County, KY and the son of the late Odus Douglas and Elsie Puckett Abney. He was retired from Foster & Creighton Construction Company and was a member of Hardwicks Creek Church of God. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Charlene Bailey. He is survived by four sons, Wayne Abney, Gary Abney and Tony Abney all of Clay City, KY and Ray Abney of Frenchburg, KY; three daughters, Janet Townsend and Barbara Robertson both of Clay City, KY and Laura Rogers, Stanton, KY; 23 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. Funeral; services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hearne Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. J. R. Phillippe with burial following in Puckett Cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday at Hearne Funeral Home. Active pallbearers are Jerry Wells, Earl Profitt, James A. Bailey, Glenwood Abney, Darrell Slemp and Marvin Abney.
