Louise Bach, 77, devoted to family
There wasn't much Louise McVean Bach couldn't cook.
Her grandson, Steven Bach, of Owingsville, said she made wonderful angel food cakes and German cookies.
"The cookies she made were awesome, " he said.
Mrs. Bach, 88, of Alexandria, died Wednesday at Carmel Manor Nursing Home, Fort Thomas.
Bach said he would spend a week with his grandmother every summer.
He'd enjoy her meals, and they'd go to a dinner theater performance at Northern Kentucky University.
He recalled described his grandmother as having a sharp mind and sharp tongue.
"Whatever was on her mind, there wasn't any beating around the bush, " he said.
"She was out with it."
Mrs. Bach also enjoyed spending time with her friends.
She was a member of Campbell County Homemakers, Kings & Queens, and Sun Valley Senior Citizens.
Her grandson said she would get together with the Senior Citizens group to play cards, including bridge and rummy, and take trips.
"Family and friends. That was what her world revolved around, " he said.
Bach said his grandmother loved to travel, but she wouldn't fly.
A couple of years ago she and a niece took an Amtrak train to California to visit another niece.
"She just enjoyed getting to spend time with family, " he said.
She was a retired agent for the Farm Bureau in Alexandria.
Her husband, Robert Paul Bach, preceded her in death.
In addition to her grandson, survivors include her son, Robert Bach, of Owingsville; a daughter-in-law, Mary Bach of Owingsville; and a nephew and two nieces.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Alexandria Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Katherine Ann Clements, 21, of Cincinnati, formerly of Kentucky, died Tuesday at Ohio State University Memorial Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
Survivors include her parents, William N. and Amy M. Clements of Cincinnati; brothers, Kyle Clements and Samuel Clements, both of Cincinnati; a sister, Sarah Clements of Cincinnati; and grandmothers, Emilie Clements and Yvonne Ballhaus, both of Cincinnati.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Paul R. Young Funeral Home, Cincinnati.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Arlington Gardens, Cincinnati.

Dolores M. "Dee" Stephens Dance, 81, of Erlanger, died Wednesday at Woodcrest Manor, Erlanger.
She was a retired waitress and a member of St. Paul's Church, Florence.
Survivors include sons, David S. Dance of Cold Spring and Randy E. Dance of Independence; a daughter, Debbie "Dot" Gripshover of Erlanger; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Cecilia Church, Independence.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Burial will be in Independence Cemetery.

Arthur Emory Garrison, 85, of Louisville, formerly of Fort Thomas, died Wednesday at Episcopal Church Home, Louisville.
He was a retired chief of procurement at NASA Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas, and a veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the Rotary Club, Houston, Texas, a 32nd degree Mason, and first president and developer of the Timber Cove Recreation Association, Houston, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Garrison; sons, David Garrison, Jeff Garrison, and Dr. Thomas Garrison; a daughter, Susan Pesnell; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be at noon Saturday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Della Pat Magee, 90, of Latonia, died Wednesday at Rosedale Manor, Latonia.
She was a nurse's aide. Her husband, Orville Magee, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a sister, Hazel Armstrong of Covington; and several nephews and nieces.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona.
Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery, Verona.

James A. Small, 45, of Fort Wright, died Thursday at his mother's residence in Erlanger.
He was employed with Small's Hardware Store, Harrison, Ohio, and was an Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his mother, Ruth Sacksteder Small of Erlanger; sisters, Karen Sandker of Cincinnati, Connie Neiheisel of Villa Hills, and Cindy Mihalovich of Edgewood; three nephews and three nieces.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Henry Church, Elsmere.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger.
Entombment will be in St. Stephen Mausoleum, Fort Thomas.

Frank J. Thaman, 69, of Burlington, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
