She is survived by her parents, Patrick Bryan Abney and Alice Lorraine Barlow Abney of Flat River; grandparents; Maynard Abney of Fredericktown; Milton and Maudie Barlow of Flat River; great - grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Weir of Bonne Terre, Adell Mitchell of Frankclay; one brtoher, Patrick Abney, Jr. of the home; one sister, Sara Abney of the home; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held 11:30Am Wednesday at the Caldwell Funeral Home chapel. Graveside services will follow at 1PM at the Mitchell cemetery with Rev. Elbert Mason officiating.

Elza Abney, 80, of 8113 Winchester Road, Clay City, widower of Willie Mae Stone Abney, died at 5:02 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington. A native of Clark County, he was the son of the late Jasper and Linnie Willoughby Abney. He was a retired farmer and antique dealer. Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Williams, Cincinnati; a grandson, Steven Williams, Cincinnati; a granddaughter and son - in - law, Sandi and Lloyd Ross, Cleveland Heights, Ohio; a brother and sister - in - law, Lewis and Katherine Abner, Winchester; three sisters and brothers - in - law, Lorean and Denzil Rader and Juanita and Ray Adams, Winchester, and Gladys Griffett, Clay City, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Jimmy Muncie. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lewis Abner, Louis Ray Adams, Dwayne Rader, Donnie Adams, Daniel Abner and Robert Abner. Friends may call 6 - 9 p.m. today.

ELZIE C. ABNEY, 78, Speedway, died Dec. 25. He worked at International Harvester Co. for 27 years, retiring in 1981 as an inspector. He was a member of the Speedway Church of Christ.

Emma Long
Emma Frances Abney Long, 86, Cantrill Street, Irvine, wife of 68 years to Herman Earl Long, died Friday after a long illness. She was born Sept. 27, 1919 in Estill County, a daughter of the late Curtis and Lula Dunaway Abney and had lived in Estill County all of her life. She was a homemaker. Survivors in addition to her husband, Herman, include three daughters, Lois (Harold) Wiseman and Janice Estes, both of Irvine, and Margaret (Phillip) Wiseman of LaGrange; three sons, Billy (Thelma) Long of Cincinnati, Ohio, Roger Long of Irvine, and Larry Long of Epherta, Pa.; a sister, Helen Houghton of Vevay, Ind.; four brothers, Curtis Abney of Louisville, Charlie Abney of Nicholasville, James Abney of Irvine and Taylor (Florence) Abney of Camargo; 12 grandchildren; 17 great - grandchildren; and two great - great - grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Lewis Funeral Home by Bro. Delvin Reese with burial at Oakdale Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Christopher Walters, Brandon Long, Darvin Johnson, Drew Wiseman, Mike Lay and Malcolm Wells.
Ernest Abney
Ernest Abney, formerly of Belgrade, died July 27 at Arcadia Valley Hospital at the age of 85.
He is survived by one son, Carl Abney of Florissant, three brothers; Claude Abney and Clarence Abney, both of Belgrade and Grafer Abney of Bismark, one sister, Lola Woods of Warren, Mich., three grandchildren and six great - grandchildren.
Friends may call at 3 PM Tuesday at the Britton Brothers (Sparks) Funeral Home in Potosi. Funeral services will be held 2PM Wednesday at the Britton Brothers Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Thomas officiating, Burial will be in the Liberty Baptist cemetery at Belgrade.

Eva Belle Abner, age 84 of Paces Creek passed away Tuesday, November 29th, 2005 at the Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was born January 10th, 1921 to the union of Gilbert and Vicie Gibson Abner. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her sister: Chelsea Abner of the Paces Creek Community, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her sisters: Georgia Abner and Minnie Smith, and her brother: Bill Abner. Funeral Services for Eva Belle Abner will be Friday, December 2nd, 2005 at 11 AM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dennis Steely and Pastor Doug Abner will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens in Manchester, Kentucky. Visitation will be Thursday, December 1st, 2005 after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Ewart G. Abner Jr.
Ewart G. Abner Jr., a music industry veteran who helped direct the careers of such performers as Stevie Wonder and the Jackson 5 on his way to becoming president of Motown Records, died of complications from pneumonia at Cedars - Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. He was 74. Abner, known to his friends as "Ab, " began his music industry career in Chicago in 1948 working on the production line of a record company for 85 cents an hour. In 1950 he joined Art Sheridan to start Chance Records, then moved to Vee Jay Records, the first Black - owned, full - line record label.

Funeral services for Everett C. (Crip) Abney, 62, were conducted at 3PM today at the Karl K. Lusk and Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Earl Pennington officiating. Burial was in the Paris Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Thomas McAnally, Ray Estes, Kenneth Edgington, Steve Edgington, Larry Abney and Clarence Abney.
Abney, of 8 Bankrow, died at 10:20PM Sunday in the Bourboun County Hospital. He was a retired farmer, a native of Estill County and a son of Levi and Rosemary Abney.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nellie Rison Abney, of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Estes and Mrs. Arthur Walker, both of Louisville; Mrs. Frank Edgington, Paris, and Mrs. Henry Mitchell, Lexington; three sons, Leroy Abney, New Albany, Ind.; Paul Abney, Louisville, and Michael Abney, Paris; a sister, Mrs. James Crouch, Lexington; three brothers, Allen Abney, Bourbon County; Robert Abney, Logansport, Ind., and Thomas Abney, Lexington, and 17 grandchildren.

Grace Harrison Abney Tyre, 85, of Lexington, died Thursday, July 17, 2003, at Darby Square Nursing Home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 07, 1917, in Irvine, Estill County, Kentucky the daughter of Taylor Price and Nannie Powell Harrison.
She was preceded in death by two husbands: Robert A. Abney and Alvie Luther Tyre. She is survived by her children: Virginia Mae (Tommy ), Frank Anderson (Patsy), Marcella "Cookie", John Thomas "Tommy" (Leona), Robert Arthur "Bob" (Bonnie), William Edward "Eddie", Carl "David" (Mickey), and Gilbert Ray Abney (Uta), and Roy Luther Tyre (Nancy) and one step - daughter, Sara Ann Abney Wescott (Wayne), and one sister: Fanny Harrison Trimble. She has 27 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Road at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 21, 2003, following will be a chapel service at the Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, visitation will be today from 5 to 9 PM. Grayfer Abney, 82, of Bismarck, died April 4 at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center. He was born July 22, 1909 in Goodwater to the late William and Sarah Mason Abney. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Ernest Abney, Clarence Abney and Claude Abney; two sisters: Hallie Abney and Lola Wood.
He is survived by his wife, Isla Abney of Bismarck; three daughters: Pauline Abney of Bismarck, Freda Mae Maredith of Lonedell, and Charlott Abney of Bismarck; two grandchildren and two great - grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2 PM Tuesday at Britton Funeral Home in Potosi. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 2PM in Britton Chapel. Burial will be in Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
