Glenn Enzweiler, 'did anything for anybody'
Glenn J. Enzweiler spent much of his free time volunteering for local charities.
He helped out at Be Concerned in Covington, the Diocesan Catholic Children's Home and Blessed Sacrament Church in Fort Mitchell. He also coached various youth baseball, basketball and softball teams throughout the years.
"He was a quiet, kind-hearted man that would do anything for anybody, " his daughter, Diane Enzweiler of Fort Mitchell, said.
Mr. Enzweiler, 73, of Fort Mitchell, died at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday at his home.
His favorite pastime was being with his two grandchildren, Mitchell and Madison Enzweiler, and the rest of his family.
His daughter said he loved taking Mitchell fishing.
"Wherever they could find a fishing hole, they went, " she said.
He and Madison enjoyed working in the yard together.
Mr. Enzweiler also enjoyed taking trips with his grandchildren to state parks, festivals and any other place that struck their interest.
"I really think it was just truly spending time with his family, " his daughter said of her dad's favorite moments.
He was a retired printer with J.W. Ford Printing Co., Cincinnati, a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Fort Mitchell and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his daughter and grandchildren, survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Weibel Enzweiler; daughters, Susan M. Enzweiler of Montgomery, Ala. and Sharon R. Enzweiler of Nashville, Tenn.; sons, Glenn G. Enzweiler of Erlanger and Gary J. Enzweiler of Cincinnati; sisters, Fern Snowball of Alexandria and Vera Mae Meyers of Highland Heights; brothers, Eugene Enzweiler of Southgate, John Enzweiler of Newport, Carl Enzweiler of Southgate and Raymond Enzweiler of Fort Thomas.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Erlanger.

Margaret Thelma Blackburn, 91, of Elsmere, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a nurse with Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence, and a member of Elsmere Baptist Church.
Survivors include sisters, Hilda Erickson of Overland Park, Kan., and Wanda Beiser of Florence; and brothers, Fred Blackburn of Pisgah, Ohio, and Don Blackburn of Petersburg.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Antioch Christian Cemetery, Kiefer. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Bettie Ruth Martin Blankenship, 70, of Independence, died Wednesday at her home. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include daughters, Brenda Edwards of Taylor Mill and Melissa Vanlandingham of Alexandria; sons, William L. Blankenship of Cincinnati and Patrick Blankenship of Independence; a brother, Ray Martin of Talent, Ore.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Monday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Fort Mitchell. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
Elvira Alice Brady, 89, of Edgewood, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Edgewood Homemakers. Her husband, George L. Brady, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Susan Kay Blodgett of Phoenix and Joy Lee Meiman of Union; a brother, Ronald Barker of Battle Creek, Mich.; a sister, Annona Barker of Franklin, Ohio; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Elnora B. Decker, 95, of Newport, died Wednesday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. She was an assembler with Nutone. Her husband, Roy E. Decker, died in 1978.
Survivors include daughters, Shirley Fultz and Joyce Benge, both of Bellevue, and Jeanette Neil of Cincinnati; sons, James E. Decker of Cincinnati and Harlin Pete Decker of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Ruth Cole of Fairfield, Ohio; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Myrna Mae Hornback, 67, of Covington, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was an admitting department employee of St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington, and a member of St. Benedict Church, Covington.
Survivors include her mother, Anna Mae Gillespie O'Neill of Covington; brothers, Melvin O'Neill of Covington, William O'Neill of Charlotte, N.C., and Herbert O'Neill of Las Vegas; and a cousin, Dottie Hungler of Covington, who took care of Ms. Hornback.

Phyllis Butcher Lombardo, 73, of Fort Thomas, died at 10:09 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker.

Robert T. Meyer, 78, of Dayton, died Thursday at Grey Stone Retirement Home, Cincinnati. He was a machinist with Winterhalter Machine Co., Cincinnati. His wife, Louise Fryman Meyer, died July 21. A daughter, Donna Meyer Skaggs, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Bob Meyer of Dayton; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

William David Morris, 80, of Cynthiana, died Wednesday at his home. He was a certified public accountant, a former employee of the Internal Revenue Service and Kentucky Department of Revenue, and a past president of First Federal Savings Bank in Cynthiana. He was a deacon and treasurer of Cynthiana Presbyterian Church, a member of the board of directors of the Harrison County Society of Retarded Citizens and Kiwanis, Inquisitors and Pyramid clubs, and was an Army veteran of World War II. His previous wife, Margaret Karrick Morris, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Frances L. Morris; a son William Randall Morris of Lexington; a daughter, Sally Elizabeth Morris of Gravel Switch; stepsons, Michael Quinn of Paris and Patrick Quinn of Lexington; stepdaughters, Lorrie Quinn and Amy Quinn, both of Cynthiana, and Jeanette Quinn Bracken of Paris; seven grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Ruth Juanita Murphy, 83, of Ludlow, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a member of Ludlow Christian Church.

David Neff, 66, of Lewisburg, died Wednesday at his home. He was a retired Army sergeant.

Linda Ruth Norris, 53, of Taylor Mill, died at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday at her home. She was a human resources worker with the Internal Revenue Service.

Norris; daughters, Lori Ann Wells of Florence, Tracy Lynn Bazsika of Brownsville, N.J., and Tiona Dawn Norris of Taylor Mill; sisters, JoAnn Edie of Germantown, Shirley Thornton of Maysville and Donna Smith of Newport; a brother, James Winter of Calvin; and two grandchildren.

Leslie G. Peebles, 90, of Independence, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired mill worker with J.B. Doppes Lumber Co. and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Independence. A son, Gary Peebles, died Oct. 24.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Conner Peebles of Independence; a son, Richard Peebles of Independence; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Dorothy I. Prewitt, 65, of Taylor Mill, died at 3:55 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was an apartment manager with LaSallette Gardens Apartments, Covington.
Survivors include brothers, Howard Schammel of LaMoille, Ill., Doug Schammel of Sublette, Ill., and Alan Schammel of Mendota, Ill.; and sisters, Eileen Weber of Sandwich, Ill., and Sue Brown of Springville, Texas.
