Mary Kay Thiel-Molloy, 'woman of gratitude'
Mary Kay "Tootsie" Thiel-Molloy married
for the first time when she was 62.
The Fort Wright resident met Edward J. Molloy, a 79-year-old widow and retired roofing company owner, at a church dance.
They enjoyed 16 years together before Mr. Molloy's death in 1992. She introduced him to the joys of traveling, swimming, golfing and playing tennis, and he loved it.
"She added years to his life, " said her daughter-in-law, Ruth Molloy of Fort Wright.
Mrs. Thiel-Molloy, 90, who died Wednesday at the St. Charles Care Center in Fort Wright, was welcomed into the family by her husband's children.
Her daughter-in-law had tremendous admiration.
"She was a woman of total gratitude, " Mrs. Molloy said. "She lived her whole life asking what she could do for others. The words 'I love you' were always a part of her very being."
During World War II, Mrs. Thiel-Molloy did social work for the American Red Cross. After the war, she became a teacher, and taught fifth grade at John G. Carlisle School in Covington and then middle grades at Riverside Harrison School in Cincinnati.
"She was one of those kinds of people that just kind of left a mark of positive things on anyone she met, " her daughter-in-law said.
Other survivors include stepsons, William Molloy and Thomas Molloy, both of Fort Myers, Fla., Donald Molloy of Cincinnati and Edmund Molloy of Fort Wright; a stepdaughter, Kathy Geoppinger of Cincinnati; and a brother, Ralph Thiel of Park Hills.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Friday at St. Charles Care Center. Visitation will begin there at 4 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to St. Charles Care Center, 500 Farrell Drive, Covington, Ky. 41011. Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow, is handling arrangements.
Paul C. Billiter, 87, of Covington, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Carmel Manor, Fort Thomas. He was a retired deliveryman with Cloverleaf Dairy.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Billiter; a son, Barry Billiter of Villa Hills; daughters, Barbara Horton of Petersburg and Paula Snow of Covington; a brother, Joseph Billiter of Cincinnati; a sister, Helen Cahill of Lakeside Park; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, Covington. Cremation will be at Hillside Chapel, Cincinnati. Don Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
Frances E. Bond, 89, of Elsmere, died Wednesday at Woodcrest Manor in Elsmere. She was a package department employee of Crossette Co. and a member of the Citizens Band Radio Club. Her husband, Hugh Bond Sr., died in 1990.
Survivors include sons, Hugh Bond Jr. of Hebron, Stanley Bond of Florence, Harvey Bond of Cincinnati and Tom Bond of Cincinnati; daughters, Phyllis Overmeyer of Milton and Virginia McDaniel of Taylor Mill; a sister, Dorothy Cole of Covington; 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Elmer V. Keith, 90, of Beechwood, died Wednesday at his home. He was a retired farmer and a member of Beechwood Assembly of God.
Survivors include his wife, Roxie A. Terry Keith; sons, Dallas Keith and George Keith, both of Beechwood, and Dean Keith of Leo, Ind.; a sister, Viola Osborne of Owenton; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Caroline Kroth, 94, of Florence, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a sales clerk with Shillito's department store in Covington and a former member of St. Ann's Altar Society. Her husband, Allen Kroth, died in 1982. A son, Daniel E. Kroth, died in 1991.
Survivors include sons, Allen L. Kroth of Reading, Ohio, and David L. Kroth of Union; a daughter, Ruth Ann Sturgis of Florence; sisters, Martha Frank of Park Hills and Rosemary Arnold of Kettering, Ohio; 23 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Carol "Sue" Bowlin Nance, 56, of Independence, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a utility coordinator with Mazak Corp. A son, Demetrius Nance, preceded her in death.

Marie O'Day, 83, of Dayton, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a watchmaker with Wadsworth Watch Case Co. and a member of Bellevue Lady Lions.
Survivors include her husband, Charles O'Day; daughters, Cindy Weber of Mentor, Debbie Young and Sally O'Day, both of California, and Judy Reinert of Walton; brothers, Jim Scott of Bellevue and Al Scott of Fort Mitchell; sisters, Bert Reis of Alexandria and Nancy Harris of Erlanger; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Leslie G. Peebles, 90, of Independence, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired mill worker with J.B. Doppes Lumber Co. and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Independence. A son, Gary Peebles, died Oct. 24.
Survivors include her husband, Hazel Conner Peebles of Independence; a son, Richard Peebles of Independence; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Tami A. Rich, 45, of Union, died Wednesday at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Timothy Church, Union.
Survivors include her husband, Gerard T. Rich; sons, Brett Rich and Kyle Rich, both of Union; daughters, Karen Rich and Tara Rich, both of Union; her parents, Roy and Connie Yellstrom of Fremont, Ohio; a sister, Sue Rimelspach of Findlay, Ohio; and brothers, Steve Yellstrom of Centennial, Colo., and Tom Yellstrom of Fremont.

Helen Mae Trump, 84, of Dayton, died Wednesday at her home. She was a retired bookkeeper with Walgreens.
