Leo 'Boots' Reinke, 74, owned body shop
Leo "Boots" Reinke was the James Dean of Bellevue.
His daughter, Antoinette Reinke of Cold Spring, said when he was a teenager, he always had a car and always had girls chasing after him. "I've heard he was quite cute, " she said.
Mr. Reinke, 74, of Bellevue, died Saturday at Lakeside Heights Care Center, Highland Heights.
His father nicknamed him "Boots" when he was a little boy because every night he would help take the boots off his father, who suffered from polio.
After his father died, Mr. Reinke was raised by his grandfather in a house behind the fire department. Because he lived so close, he became the official siren blower.
He was owner of Boots Body Shop in Bellevue and Newport and loved it, his daughter said. After he retired, he worked part time delivering dentures from a dental lab to dentists.
"He enjoyed work, " she said. "He wanted to go to work."
He also enjoyed antiques, traveling to garage sales and flea markets on weekends.
He was a member of St. Anthony Church, Bellevue, the Independent Garage Owners Association and an Army veteran of the Korean War. His first wife, Madge A. Reinke, died in 1991.
Other survivors include his wife, Betty Weber-Reinke; stepsons, Brad Weber of Bellevue and Brian Weber of Lakeside Park; a brother, Rev. Robert J. Reinke of Covington; a sister, Helen Dames of Kentucky; and four step-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit Church, Newport. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Robert S. Emmitt Jr., 60, of Covington, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a former salesman with Cincinnati Belting and Transmission and a member of Morning View Methodist Church. A son, Daniel Emmitt, died in 2000.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Coomer of Independence; sons, David A. Emmitt II of Erlanger, Robert S. Emmitt of Cincinnati and William Hart of Independence; a sister, Carolyn Wakeman of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery.
Elmer F. Fibbe, 83, of Walton, died Saturday at his home. He was a clerk with E&J; Swigert Co., and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, Paul M. Fibbe of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Barbara Dieckmann of Walton and Kathy Schroeder of Andover, Mass.; a brother, Larry Fibbe of Highland Heights; a sister, Ruth Reynolds of Erlanger; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Garry Wayne Griffin Sr., 61, of Dry Ridge, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was an assembly worker.
Survivors include a daughter, Jessica Marshall; sons, Chris Griffin of Shepherdsville, Rodney Griffin of Jonesville and Garry W. Griffin Jr. of Dry Ridge; his mother, Jessie C. Griffin of Dry Ridge; brothers, Carl Griffin Jr. and Jimmie Griffin, both of Dry Ridge, and Johnny Griffin of Independence; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Katherine Curtis Hendricks, 84, of Mount Olivet, died Saturday at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Kentontown Christian Church. Her husband, William Robert Hendricks, and sons, James E. Hendricks and Harold C. Hendricks, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Ernie Hendricks of Versailles; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Paris Huddleston Jr., 81, of Sardis, died Saturday at Robertson County Health Care Center, Mount Olivet. He was a retired farmer and a member of Sardis Assembly of God Church. His wife, Marcella Stitt Huddleston, died in 1986.
Survivors include daughters, Erma Rudy and Carolyn Linville Tuel, both of Mays Lick; a son, Jerry Huddleston of Sardis; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Betty R. Kaiser, 79, of Crescent Springs, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs.
Survivors include her husband, Edgar J. Kaiser; sons, John Steven Kaiser and Andrew Kaiser, both of Crescent Springs, and Dr. Jeff Kaiser of Fort Mitchell; a daughter, Betsy Adams of Maysville; a sister, Dorothy McPherson of Edgewood; and eight grandchildren.

Terry W. Linton, 45, of Crittenden, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a warehouseman with Winnelson Plumbing Supply Co.

Michael Dale Martin, 58, of Owenton, died Saturday at his home. He was a self-employed carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Mary House Martin; a son, Tim Martin of Owenton; brothers, Otis Martin and Roy Martin, both of Hesler; sisters, Mary Lou Branstetter of Connersville, Ind., and Emma Courtney of Hesler; and three grandchildren.

Anna F. Mobley, 81, of Hebron, died at 3:30 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker and an employee of Conner High and Conner Junior High schools' cafeterias, and was a member of Belleview Baptist Church. Sons, George Wayne Mobley and Terry L. Mobley, died in 1962 and 1978, respectively.
Survivors include her husband, George W. Mobley; a daughter, Brenda Berner of Superior, Wis.; sons, Gary Mobley and Daryl Dean Mobley, both of Burlington, Keith A. Mobley of Springdale, Ohio, David R. Mobley of Hebron and Mike L. Mobley of Erlanger; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

James C. Palmer, 76, of Cincinnati, formerly of Fort Thomas, died at 7 a.m. Sunday at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a retired salesman with Wellen Ford, Covington. His wife, Johann Prince Palmer, died in 1985.
Survivors include daughters, Pam Thurman of Fort Thomas and Julie Hay of Florence; a sister, Sylvia McKiernan of Lakeside Park; and a grandson.

Elmer G. Smith, 83, of Alexandria, died at 2:10 p.m. Saturday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. He was a retired foreman with Interlake Steel and was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, Alexandria. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Gosney Smith; daughters, Jan Geiman and Dianne Miller, both of Alexandria; a son, Gordon Smith of Alexandria; a sister, Mildred Clark of Cold Spring, a brother, George Leonard Smith of Cold Spring; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Main Street Baptist Church, Alexandria. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
Evelyn Waite, 91, of Florence, died Thursday at Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence. She was an office worker with the Kenton County Water District.
Survivors include a niece, Patsy Aureden of Edgewood, and two grandchildren. Graveside services were this morning at Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice. Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger, is handling arrangements.
Clara Louise Williams, 73, of Covington, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was a homemaker and attended Erlanger Baptist Church. Her husband, Hansel "Bud" Williams, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Dean Williams of Covington; daughters, Karen Campbell of Covington, Louisa Brooks of Newport and Pricilla Featherstone of Burlington; 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
