Julia Maxfield Brooks, avid UC basketball fan

One fan didn't live long enough to see the University of Cincinnati play the University of Kentucky in this year's NCAA basketball tournament.

Julia Maxfield Brooks, an avid Bearcats, Bengals and Reds fan, died Wednesday at 83.

The Dayton resident's favorite time of year was basketball season, said her son, Ernest Brooks of Dayton.
