'Randy' Rolfsen, loved photography
Randall Larry "Randy" Rolfsen usually had a camera in his hands and a smile on his face.
"He was a very pleasant person, " said Mr. Rolfsen's father, Larry Rolfsen of Florence. "He loved taking photos, and he was always smiling. He was very easy to get along with."
The body of Mr. Rolfsen, 47, of Florence, was found Monday in a storm water spillway in Erlanger. Police said it is believed Mr. Rolfsen drowned.
Mr. Rolfsen worked in the food court at Florence Mall for the past five years. He previously worked at car washes in Erlanger, Newport and Florence and also worked at the Duro paper bag plant.
He attended St. Henry Elementary School and Lloyd High School and was a member of St. Henry Church in Elsmere.
"He lived a quiet life and especially loved getting away to the peace and quiet of the mountains around Gatlinburg, Tenn., " said the elder Mr. Rolfsen.
"He enjoyed fishing and bicycle riding and played golf once in a while. He especially liked to be with all his nieces and nephews."
Other survivors include his mother, Mary Ann Rolfsen of Florence; brothers, Rick Rolfsen of Verona and Ron Rolfsen of Edgewood; and sisters, Connie Neel of Marietta, Ga., Sharon Hambene of Cincinnati, Missy Rolf of Florence, and Michelle Brauer of Walton.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Henry Church in Elsmere.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger.
Burial will be in St. John cemetery in Fort Mitchell.

Veramae Schadler Bathalter, 86, of Alexandria, died Sunday at St. Luke East Hospice, Fort Thomas.
She was a homemaker, an Eucharistic minister, and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Alexandria, Ladies Altar Society, and a volunteer at Lakeside Nursing Home, Highland Heights. Her husband, Harry E. Bathalter, preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Jerry L. Bathalter of Villa Hills, Robert E. Bathalter of Alexandria, and William H. Bathalter of Winchester, Ohio; a daughter, Susan Popovich of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Alexandria. Visitation will begin there at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Alexandria. Alexandria Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Pamela Sue Cole Bond, 61, of Dry Ridge, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth North Hospice, Covington.
She was a truck driver and a member of the Grant County Gun Club.
Survivors include sons, Keith A. Lemons of Dry Ridge, Kevin W. Lemons and Kent L. Lemons, both of Mount Orab, Ohio; a sister, Sandra Cole Elder of Warsaw, Ind.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. Visitation will begin there at noon Friday. Burial will be private.
Martha Daulton, 84, of Largo, Fla., formerly of Ludlow, died Monday at Baptist Convalescent Home, Newport.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Eastern Star Rosebud Chapter, Covington.
Her husband, James "Jack" Daulton, preceded her in death.
Survivors include brothers, Bill Clayton of Hebron and Charles Clayton of Murray; and sisters, Sue Eickhoff of Bromley, Nell Estep of Ludlow, and Betty Carder of Greensburg, Ind.

Edna Evans, 83, of Elsmere, died Monday at St. Elizabeth North Hospice, Covington.
She was a homemaker. Her husband, Marvin Evans, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, David Evans of Elsmere; a daughter, Patricia Burns of Crescent Springs; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Malachi David Aydan Antonio Garcia, 15 minutes, of Covington, died March 9 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was the son of Rio Mabrey of Covington and Carrie Garcia of Covington.
Other survivors include sisters, Chelsee Evans and Kyleigh Evans, both of Covington; and maternal grandmother, Ruby Garcia of Covington.

Rita Gerwe, 84, of Covington, formerly of Taylor Mill, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Anthony Church, Taylor Mill.
Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Gerwe; sons, Rick Gerwe of Florence, Kenny Gerwe of Cincinnati, and Larry Gerwe of Edgewood; a daughter, Jeriann Kidd of Taylor Mill; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Stanley "Deac" E. Jones, 75, of Florence, died Sunday at Veterans Medical Center in Cincinnati.
He was a retired grocery store owner. He was a Navy veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Paul Church in Florence and the Walton American Legion Post, past president of the Walton Lions Club and a member of St. Timothy Church Seniors Club.
Survivors include his wife, Joan (nee Bertsch) of Florence; two daughters, Laura K. Joy of Batavia and Tracy A. Chalfant of Florence; a son Mark A. Jones of Florence and a sister Agnes Corbitt of Cincinnati and 9 grandchildren.

Bonnie Morris Kostelac, 77, of Verona, formerly of Pendleton County, died Monday at Owen County Hospital, Owenton. Her husband, Steve Kostelac, preceded her in death.
