NORA MAYNARD, 87, of Wayne, WV went to be with he Lord Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at he Hospice House of Huntington. She was death, along with one brother, Buck Ratcliff, and one half-brother, Willie Davis.
Audrey was a retired nurse’s aide and attended the Crossroads Baptist Church and Lavalette Baptist Church. She loved reading the Bible, enjoyed cooking, and cherished her time with her family.
Survivors include her loving husband, John Adkins; six daughters, Kay Kennedy of Huntington, Linda Miller of Atlanta, Ga., Frances Hall and husband Jim of Huntington, Janet Blankenship and husband Eddie of Wayne, W.Va., Marsha Seigle and husband Alden of Prichard, W.Va., and Kathy Bais and husband Keith of Huntington; four sons, Jerry Browning of Huntington, Greg Adkins and wife Karen of Wayne, Johnny Adkins and wife Susan, and Okie Adkins and wife Debbie, all of Huntington. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren including special granddaughter, Renee Kennedy of Huntington; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Ratcliff and wife Patty of Huntington; special friends from Hospice and the St. Mary’s Home Health team; and friends and neighbors too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Elder Jimmy Lester officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowen Burial followed in the Bean preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Pelfrey; aunt Paula Denof and uncle Nick Denof; uncle Stephen Christopher Perry; and great-great uncle Glenn Staley. Additional survivors include three sisters, Jaleena and Jessalyn Perry of Chesapeake, Oh., and Alexis Perry of Guyandotte, W.Va.; paternal grandparents, Tina Perry of Ashland, Ky., and Charles and Karen Perry of Sealy, Tex.; maternal grandparents, Paul and Melody Bailey of Huntington; paternal great-grandparents, Robert and Linda Urekew of Louisville, Ky and Neil and Bonnie Anthony of Buxton, Maine; maternal grandmother, Edith Hester of Huntington; one uncle, Billy Pelfrey and wife Shannon of Huntington; two aunts, Candace Bailey of Huntington and Crystalyn Bradshaw of Ashland, Ky.; special friends aunt Julia "Jewls" Holley, uncle Josh "Cornbread" Franklin, Sherri Simpson all of Huntington, Liz Lockhart of Kenova, W.Va., and "Mamaw" Holley; cousins Jakan Bradshaw, Cadence Pelfrey, Kiana Pelfrey, Kaitlyne Holley, Paula Holley, and Chad Bailey; special friends from Hospice and Birth to Three Team; and a host of dear family and friends too numerous to mention. Visitation was held prior to the services Sunday.
