EMMA FAY RAMEY, 86, of Branchland, W.Va., Burial will follow in the Ramey death along with two sons, Bobby and Odell Ramey, one brother, Lawrence Ramey, one sister, Sinda Ramey, and one grandson, Dallas Morrison.
Survivors include one daughter, Willa Jean Morrison and her husband Ed; one son, Leroy "Jim" Ramey and his wife Ethel, all of Branchland, W.Va.; three brothers, James "Tom" Ramey, Audie Ramey and his wife Betty, all of Salt Rock, W.Va., and Fred Ramey and his wife Bonnie of Williamsfield, Ohio; Six grandchildren: Mary Adkins and her husband Darrell of West Hamlin, W.Va., Elesha Hager, Kayla Morrison, Leroy "Jimbo" Ramey, Jr., Donna Pritchard, all of Branchland, W.Va., and Donnie Pritchard and his wife Carol of Wayne, W.Va.; eight great grandchildren: Darrell "Scooter" Adkins of West Hamlin, W.Va., Jonathon Hager and his wife Dora of Midkiff, W.Va., Emma Pritchard of Wayne, W.Va., Sarah Bryant and her husband Jerry of Harts, W.Va., Brandy Donahue and her husband Jeremy, Millie, Martha, and Clyde Eastham, all of Branchland, W.Va.; nine great-great grandchildren: Carson Hager of Midkiff, W.Va., Cody, Josie, Cassie, Benjamin and Zachary Donahue of Branchland, W.Va., Destiny, Landon and Trudie Bryant of Harts, W.Va.; nephews, Tim Ramey, Michael Ramey, Woody Ramey and his wife Sue, all of Salt Rock, W.Va., and Terry Ramey of Branchland, W.Va.; nieces, Nancy Napier of Wayne, W.Va., and Karen Volanski and her husband Tim of Ohio; special friends Louise Ramey, Dale Parsons, Glenna McClellan, Joshua Donahue, Robbie & Aubrey Watts, Travis & Jessica Watts, Brady and Keaton Icenhower, and especially, Jennifer McComas and her husband Junebug, - we don’t know what we’d do without. Emma was a loving mother, grandmother and friend, who will be sadly missed by all. The family will receive visitors after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
DONALD EDWARD ADKINS, 77, of Huntington, W.Va., Burial will follow in the Bowen death along with four brothers, Carl Adkins, Charlie Adkins, Gene Adkins, and Ray Adkins. Donald served in the US Army during the Korean War, and was a member of the VFW Post 1064 and Bricklayers Union Local #5. He loved hunting and attended Mt. Union Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Delores (Black) Adkins, of Huntington, W.Va.; one sister, Faye Ross of Columbus, Oh.; one brother, John Adkins and his wife Audrey of Huntington, W.Va.; one daughter, Connie Sue Venoy and her companion Phillip McCormick of Milton, W.Va.; one son, Michael E. Adkins and his wife Pamela of Proctorville, Oh.; four step-children, Glenn Watts of Groveport, Oh., Earnest Watts and his wife Christine of Baltimore, Oh., Karen Novatney and her husband Andrew of Newark, Oh., and Brenda Watts and her companion Tom of Columbus, Oh.; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a host of friends and family. PAUL KENNETH "Chipper" RICE, 59, preceded in death. Johnson Tiller Funeral Home, Wayne is in charge of arrangements along with Chapman’s Mortuary. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington. Visiting hours will follow from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Huntington or to the J. Robert Pritchard Dialysis Center.
MR. KAY MARSHALL, 94, of Wayne, W.Va., Burial will follow in Elmwood death along with one beloved daughter, Carol Hall. He was a member of the Wayne Church of Christ.
Kay was a devoted father and grandfather who enjoyed gardening, joking, and laughing. He loved his family very much and extremely adored his wife, Inez Dean Marshall, of Wayne, who he called "Maw." Inez survives him along with four daughters: Kay Francis Pinkerman and her husband Keith of Huntington, W.Va., Wanda Booth and her husband Randy, Patty Stiltner, and Cathy Dillon and her husband Mitchell, all of Wayne, W.Va.; one son Marion Marshall and his wife Barbara of Wayne, W.Va.; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and a host of friends and family. The visitation will be held Monday, February 18, 2008, which is Kay and Inez’s 69th wedding anniversary. Friends may call after 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
BERTHA LENA FRY ROSS BROWN, 77, of Wayne, W.Va., Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens. Bertha was death, along with one son, Roger Ross, daughter Pam Adkins, and three grandchildren, Meagan Merritt, Morgan Merritt, and Alex Blankenship. Survivors include four sisters, Vicie Merritt, Sarah Hale, Orvella Adkins, all of Wayne, W.Va., and Fannie Roach of Litchfield, Ohio; two sons, David Ross and Walter Ross both of Wayne, W.Va.; five daughters, Virginia Johnson of Huntington, W.Va., Elizabeth Adkins, Iris Mullin, Irene Blankenship, and Edna Merritt, with whom she made her home, all of Wayne, W.Va.; 30 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive visitors after 6 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the funeral home.
RITA JOYCE THOMPSON FRALEY, 49, of Genoa, W.Va., Burial will follow in the Sanders death. She worked as a CNA and was a member of the Twelve Pole Valley Baptist Church.
She leaves behind two beloved sons, Dana D. Sanders of Hurricane, W.Va., and Lucian Fraley III of Genoa, W.Va.; and one grandchild on the way. Also surviving is five sisters: Cindy Sanders and her husband Darrell of East Lynn, W.Va., Connie Scott and her husband William Lee of Wayne, W.Va., Janice Thompson, also of Wayne, W.Va., Patricia Barton of Genoa, W.Va., and Linda Starkey and her husband John of Genoa, W.Va.; two brothers: Steven Foley Thompson and Douglas Ruben Thompson and his wife Amanda, all of Genoa, W.Va.; and a host of friends and family. Rita was a devoted babysitter to her nieces and nephews and a loving friend to all who knew her. The family will receive visitors after 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
MR. HOMER BRADSHAW, 82, of Spurlocksville, W.Va., death along with four brothers, Okey Bradshaw, Paul Gilkerson, Jonny Bradshaw, Charlie Golden Bradshaw; and one son-in-law, Alan Certo. Homer proudly served our country in the United States Army.
Survivors include five sisters, Louise McCallister, Juanita Bradshaw, Ruby Nicely, all of Wayne, W.Va., Erma Adkins, of Indiana and Armilda Adkins, of Lavalette, W.Va.; four daughters: Wanda Certo and her husband Paul of Cleveland, Ohio, Janice Norene Hager and her husband Kelly Jr. of Alkol, W.Va., Emma Certo of Cleveland, Ohio, and Joyce Bradshaw; three grandchildren, Bobby Hager, Karen Certo of Akron, Ohio, and Marianne Certo of Cleveland, Ohio.; and a host of friends and family.
The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home. At 11 a.m. Paul Certo, son-in-law, will deliver a memorial tribute. Immediately following, the procession will depart to the Adkins Family death along with one daughter, Erma Chatterton; and one son, Larry Morrison.
Survivors include three daughters, Juanita Mays of Huntington, W.Va., Betty Gilkerson and husband Ira of Wayne, W.Va., and Arlene Jackson and husband Ray of Huntington, W.Va.; six sons, James Morrison of Wayne, W.Va., Lonnie Morrison and wife Audrey of Lavalette, W.Va., Jack Morrison and wife Jackie, David Morrison, all of Wayne, W.Va., Truman Dale Morrison and his wife Arlene of Hurricane, W.Va., and William Gale Morrison, of Dunlow, W.Va.; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; and a host of friends and family.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the Booten Burial will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens.
Jason was born November 4, 1978 in Gainesville, Fla., a beloved son of Autho and Hazel Blankenship of Huntington, W.Va. Additional survivors include two brothers, Hamilton Blankenship of Melrose, Fla., and A. J. Blankenship and his wife Annie, of Whitney, Tex.; one sister, Edna Trosper and her husband Glen of Ft. Gay, W.Va.; half-sister, Teresa Blankenship of Huntington, W.Va.; and five nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind one son, Eric Maynard Ferguson of Echo, W.Va.; his fiancé, Elizabeth Bellomy of Ranger, W.Va.; and friends and neighbors too numerous to mention. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to help with final expenses.
