JOHN SIGSBY MAYNARD, 84, of Huntington, W.Va. death, along with one sister, Vada Fay Flowers of Huntington, W.Va., and one brother Theeautry Maynard of Apple Grove, W.Va.
John graduated from Wayne High School, and served in the US Army during World War II. He retired from Schindler Elevator in Toledo, Ohio.He is survived by two sisters, Myrtle Dick of Gainesville, Fla., and Judy Beckett of Huntington; and three brothers, Walter Maynard of Perry Hall, Md., Eugene Maynard of Huntington, and Gary L. Maynard of Huntington.
Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Community Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ray Vance officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Huntington City Mission. Johnson Tiller Funeral Home is honored to serve the Maynard Family.
MRS. MARIE ADKINS, 69, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with her Lord Saturday, January 10, 2009. She was death. Marie was a devoted wife, loving mother and talented artist.
She leaves behind her husband, James Adkins; three daughters, Lynn Mogle and her husband Clayton of Des Moines, IO, Karen Adkins of Wayne, W.Va., Leslie Rodes and her husband Jim of Huntington, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Dustin Mogle and Joshua Mogle, both of Des Moines, David Rodes and Christina Rodes, both of Huntington; and three great grandchildren, Payton Mogle, Connor Mogle, and Abbie Mogle, all of Des Moines. Also surviving are two brothers, Lewis Miller and Arthur Miller, both of N.J.; sister-in-law, Pearl Colegreco of Cliffside Park, N.J.; and lifelong friend and sister in spirit, Marie Dingess and her husband Sid of Toms River, N. J.
Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, at the Spurlock death were two sisters, Vada Wallace and Ethel Marcum, and two brothers, Carlos Porter and Virgil Workman.
Billy served in the US Army, 1st Calavary during the Vietnam War, and previously worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad.He is survived by his wife, Linda Conley Porter; one son, Michael Porter and his wife Debbie of Hilliard, Oh; one daughter, Melinda Lucas and her husband Ronnie of Salt Rock, W.Va.; and three grandchildren, Michael H. Porter, Tyler W. Porter, and Jacob A. Lucas.
Also surviving are four brothers, Willis Porter of Pomeroy, Oh., Gus Porter of Dunlow, W.Va., Clifford Porter of Ft. Gay, W.Va., and Orville Porter of Columbus, Oh.; two sisters, Geneva Porter of Oh., and Dorothy Porter of N.C.; and many loving nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Brother Ronnie Marcum officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 7, 2009. She was death was her husband, George Jackson Price; seven brothers, Everett Wiley Ramey, Christian Ramey, Pete Ramey, Chester Ramey, James Ramey, Thomas Ramey, and Robert Ramey; and four sisters, Mary Ramey, Elsie Wagner, Esta Adkins, and Florida McCoy.
Thelma was a hard worker as a young lady doing such things as making parachutes for the US Military Services. She was also a factory worker, nurses aid, and caregiver for her family.Survivors include one sister, Alma Clark of Huntington four daughters, Helen Steele of Ft. Gay, W.Va. Judy Brown and her husband John of Dansville, Mich., Wanda Dennis and her husband Jim of Niceville, Fla., and Carolyn Root of Ashland, Ky.; four sons, Roy Price and his wife Cinda of Huntington, Sherman Price and his wife Gladys of Genoa, W.Va., Daniel Lee Price of Mich., and George Price Jr. of East Lynn, W.Va.; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Pamela Price of East Lynn; special friend Gayle Skeens; and a host of friends and family too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Rev. E.S. Harper officiating. Burial will follow in the Lucian Miller death were seven sisters: Lena Hall, Mable White, Rhoda Hamrich, Molly Jeffrey, Betty Adams, Atheline White, and Phyllis White; and two brothers, Orville White and Edgar White.
Survivors include her husband, Luther Finley of Waverly; one sister, Ernestine Akers of Lake, W.Va.; one daughter, Judy Manuse and husband John of Brunswick, Oh; two step-grandsons, several nieces and nephews, and friends and neighbors too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Rocky Chafin officiating. Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
