CHARLES I. WARE
GLOUCESTER - Dr. Charles I. Ware, 69, formerly the city physician for the city of Newport News, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1993.
Dr. Ware retired in 1991, after serving for eight years in that position. After retirement, he was employed at Three Rivers Health District on the Middle Peninsula and the Northern Neck from 1992 to 1993. Dr. Ware was a graduate of Wake Forest College and the University of Maryland Medical School. He served with the Army Medical Corps and the Air Force Medical Corps.
A native of Pleasantville, N.J., he had been a Gloucester resident for eight years. Dr. Ware was a member of Bellamy United Methodist Church.
He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shrine Club, a member and past president of Gloucester Kiwanis Club, and a life member of the Navy League of the United States.
Survived by his wife, Elaine R. Ware; a son, Joe B. Ware of Greenville, Texas; and a grandchilld.
Memorial service at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bellamy United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ronald T. Davidson.
