Carol Henley
Carol D. Henley, 64, interment following at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Lubbock. Pastor Duane Peters of Inspiration Point Cowboy Church of Tom Bean will officiate.
Family visitation will be held in two locations: Saturday evening from 6-7 p.m. at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman and Monday evening from 6-7 p.m. at George Price’s Chapel in Levelland.
Carol was death by her parents and brother Gerald Lee Davis Carol is survived by a son, Larry Davis and wife Traci of Lubbock; sister, Martha Martin and husband Billy of Howe; brothers Jim Davis and wife Ramona of Levelland and Charles Davis of Midland; and granddaughter Emma Jean Davis of Lubbock and loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Lee Martin, Jeff Martin, Boyd Martin, Matt Davis, Ron Alexander, Chad Alexander, Chase Alexander and Michael Avery.

Almer Ridley
Almer Ridley, 77-year-old Whitesboro resident, Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Family visitation will be held Wed. evening from 6-8 p.m.
Almer was Interment will follow at Macomb born on December 6, 1925 the son of Loy and Faye Sloan Garland in Whitewright, Texas. He received his education in the Sadler school district.
On October 7, 1944 he death by his wife, Ona Mae Garland on April 20, 2007, parents, Loy and Faye Garland sister, Ina Lois Hilton and his grandson Trent Garland.
Surviving are his sons Dennis A Garland and wife Teresa of Sherman, Donald R. Garland and wife Cyndi of Argyle, grandchildren Tiffany Williams and husband Tim of Sherman, Taylor Garland of Sherman, Jamie Tomlinson and husband Bret of Argyle, Paula Garland of Denton; great-grandchildren Haley Tomlinson of Argyle and Reid Tomlinson of Argyle, and brother D.W. Garland of Sherman. Also surviving is his aunt Frances Bush of Whitewright, uncles Dwight Garland of Irving and Doug Garland of Sherman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Robert Gomel
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, March 04, 2009 at Friendship passed away on Monday, March 2, 2009 at Hilltop Haven Nursing Center. Pastor Leland Samuelson of Sherman House of Praise officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home.
He is survived by his daughter Sheron Wasilenko, 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Anthony Alvarez
Dr. Anthony Alvarez, Jr., 79, of Sherman, Texas formerly of El Paso, born April 24, 1929 in El Paso, TX to Anthony Alvarez, Sr. and Carolina Irigoyen de Alvarez. Anthony grew up in El Paso and attended El Paso High School graduating in 1947.
He earned a Bachelor's Degree from Texas Western College (now University of Texas at El Paso) in 1951. He then attended Southern College of Optometry from which he graduated in June of 1954.
He serviced his country from 1954 to 1964 in the U.S. Army, Medical Branch in Europe. After completing his duty his went into the practice of Optometry and was active in his chosen career until February of 2008.
He spoke four languages English, Spanish, French and a little Portuguese. He was always cheerful and optimistic, and enjoyed his life to the fullest and loved traveling to different parts of the world and exploring different cultures and enhancing his knowledge about eye care. He greatly enjoyed eating food from different parts of the world and sharing those experiences with family and friends.
He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Anthony was preceded in cemetery in Sherman. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Anthony to the St. Anne's building fund. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman.
Wanda Catalan
Wanda Catalan, 60-year-old Sherman resident, stepped into Eternity on Thursday, April 2, at WNJ Medical Center. Services in celebration of her courageous life will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 6, at Dannel Funeral Home, with born on November 21, 1948, in Sherman to Jodie E. and Cordie Wheeler Stanley. She was educated in Sherman Public Schools. On September 20, 1986 she death by her parents, two sisters: Lois Rohaley and Everma Jo Andrews, two brothers Ernest “Boots” Stanley, Alvin Stanley and a son-in-law, Glenn Shires. She is survived by her husband Gerardo and two children: Joey Vawter of Sherman and Becky Shires of Calera, OK; three grandchildren: Chance Shires and wife Cassey, Amanda Vawter, and Garrett Vawter; two great-grandchildren: Kinlee Shires and Kreed Shires; as well as numerous other family and a host of friends. Once visitors found her home, they always returned, because she made them feel better about themselves.
Pallbearers will be Chance Shires, Steve Kimbrell, Jerry Skaggs, Gary West, Joey Garland, and Glenn Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Garrett Vawter and Kimmy Barnard.
Jeannie Whitaker
Jeannie Marie Whitaker, 50, of Sherman born on Dec. 9, 1926 in Cannon, Texas in Grayson County, to the daughter of Henry Andrew and Ruby Inez (Ingram) Ooten. Billie grew up in Savoy, TX and she attended Savoy School.
Billie death in 1948. She later married 57 years until he preceded her in death by her parents; two husbands; two brothers: Edwin Ooten and Neil Ooten and wife Mildred; three sisters: Bennie Hall, Mary Ooten, and Nelda Conger and husband R.C.; sister-in-law Jean Hignight; brothers-in-law Arles Jones, Roy Jones, and Grady Jones; nephews Steve Hignight and Thomas Ayres and niece Coreen McFadden. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cemetery in Savoy with Kenny Shepard, Donnie Oaten, Gerald Ooten, Ray Dagenais, John Sutherland, Steve Baula, Jr., serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wed., Jan. 7 at Dannel Funeral Home, other times at 221 W. Wilson, Sherman, TX
