Joe D. Gurley
Joe Darrell Gurley, 57-year-old Gordonville resident, born June 29, 1951, in Sherman, to Joe Wesley and Katherine Bernard Gurley. He was educated in the public schools and graduated from Sherman High School. He served in the US Navy from 1969-71. On January 16, 1979 he death by his parents and a sister, Kathy Milligan. He is survived by his wife Betty; four sons: Scott Ryan Gurley of Plano, Christopher Michael Gurley and wife Valerie of Frisco, Joe Darrell Gurley II and wife Susan of Denison, Weldon Eugene Gurley and wife Becky of Sherman and James Richard Voorhies of Denison; three daughters: Megan Marie Gurley of Denison, Nikki Sue Voorhies of Gordonville, Mary Katherine Voorhies of Allen; a brother, Billy Jack Gurley and wife Natalie of Arkansas; and one sister, Joelle Fralloni of France; 10 grandchildren: Dustin Dowdle, Caitlin Elizabeth Sidebottom, Hunter Wade Dowdle, Richard Anthony Sapp, Ethan Rowland Gurley, Oliver John Paul Gurley, Emily Marie Brewster, Ashton Joseph Gurley, Kasi Nicole Gurley, and Savannah Leigh Ann Gurley.
Noe Almazan
Noe Almazan, 36, of Sherman, Texas passed into eternal sleep Monday, April 13, 2009 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center. A mass of Christian burial will be Satruday, April 18, 2009 at 10 a.m., St. Mary's Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2009 in the Dannel Funeral Home Chapel, family visitation will follow.
Reverend Antonio Aureus and Deacon Tomas Avila will officiate.
Noe was married the love of his life Linicia Womack on September 13, 1997 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sherman. On January 7, 2003, Jolie Destiny, Noe's only child was death by his parents, special aunt and uncle, Isidoro and Flora Almazan.
Pallbearers will be Jesus Gonzalez, Jr., Ruben Ramirez, Jonathan Ramirez, Julian Gonzales, Chris Briscoe, Matthew Tucker, and Todd Creekmore. Honorary pallbearers are John Troxel and Freedom Demoure.
Noe is survived by his wife of 12 years, one daughter, father and mother-in-law, Ray and Patricia Womack; step-mother Maria Elena Almazan, brothers, John Troxel and wife Debbie, Jody Troxel, and Fransisco Lopez, all of Sherman; sisters, Michelle Hernandez of Toledo, OH, Blanca Johnson and husband Harold of Sherman, Jessica Walters and husband Thad of Denison. Nieces, Erica Marquez and husband Jose of Sherman, Kenlee, Kaylee, and Kyelee Walters of Denison; nephews, Julian Gonzales, and Freedom Demoure of Sherman, and Jude Walters of Denison and one great-nephew, Leonardo Marquez, they affectionately call him "No-No". Also surviving numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Mildred Arrington Cox
Services for Mildred “Mickey” Arrington Cox will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 12:30PM at Chapel on the Hill in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Kenneth Dacus of Victory Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home.
Mickey born on August 24, 1921 the daughter of Robert Lee McGill and Alice Ella Kennedy McGill in Wetumka, Oklahoma.
Mickey was employed at Pools manufacturing, Gladiola and Red River Home Health.
She death on August 22, 1956.
On December 5, 1969 she death on October 17, 1998. On May 8, 2004 she death on December 6, 2005.
She was a charter and faithful member of the Victory Missionary Baptist Church; she served in many areas of the church until her health would not allow her to do so.
She is survived by her numerous nephews and nieces. Her principal family care giver was Donald G. Thomas of Denison with the sometimes assistance of Kenneth E. Kinnamon of Rockville, Maryland.
Mary Hilda Cavazos
In loving memory of wife, mother, friend, and spiritual mentor, Mary Hilda Cavazos of Sherman Texas married for 44 years and have 5 Children, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; Gracie and Leon Solano of Sherman, Joe and Glenda Cavazos of Wichita Falls, Frankie and Becky Cavazos of Wichita Falls, Sara and Noe Castillo of Sherman and Rebecca and Julian Garza of Irvin. Grandchildren include; Josh, Johnathan and Alexis; Joe William; Jacob, Angelica and Alicia; Caleb and Marissa; Julian (JJ) and great-grandchildren Izaah and Marissa Melanie Gonzales.
She is survived by sisters Martha January and Cecelia A. Ortiz, brothers Rudy and Lorenzo Arredondo all of Wichita Falls, Albert and Alfred Arredondo from Salem Indiana. She is preceded in Cemetery, Wichita Falls Texas on Monday 9 Feb at 10:30 am.
Martha Jane Clayton
Martha Jane Clayton, died on January 12, 2009 in Sherman, Texas. Her parents were W. H. (Bill) and Elizabeth McLeroy Clayton.
Jane graduated in 1931 from the old Denison High School where she received several awards for her achievements in debate and public speaking.
Jane attended Austin College during the height of the Great Depression and graduated in three years, earning a bachelor’s degree in 1934. After graduation Jane taught school for a period of time.
Toward the end of World War II, Jane earned a degree in Library Science from North Texas State University. Her first job was with the U. S. Army Library Services in occupied Japan. She later worked at Libraries at Fort Sill and Cameron College in Lawton, OK.
Jane was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Clayton Fulton and Virginia Clayton Douglas. She is survived by her nephew Clayton Fulton, several great nieces and nephews and her favorite double cousin, Otto McLeroy of Frisco, Texas.
No formal services are planned. Growing up Jane was a member of Waples Methodist Church in Denison. A special thank you goes to the caretakers on C Hall at Texoma Healthcare in Sherman.
Donna Graves
Donna Faye O’Neal Graves, 66-year-old resident of Southmayd, Interment will follow at Tioga born November 10, 1942, in Denison, TX the daughter of Billy and Alta Carter O’Neal. She grew up in Sherman and graduated from Sherman High School. She death by her parents and one son, Jimmy Harold Graves, Donna is survived by her husband Jim; two sons: Tim Graves and wife Stacia of Gunter and Billy Don Graves of Sanger; two grandchildren: Peyton Graves and Kerby Graves; and two great-grandchildren: Miguel Vega and Jayden Vega; as well as a sister, Barbara Elmore and husband John of Sherman.
Pallbearers will be John Patrick Elmore, Kevin Gressett, Larry Gressett, Bobby Platt, Randy Simpson, and James Rigdon; with Dave Gressett and John Douglas Elmore as honorary pallbearers.
William F. Schuster
William Fredrick Schuster, Jr., 83-year-old Sherman resident, Interment will follow at Hawkins born June 6, 1925, in Garland, TX, to William F. Schuster, Sr., and Ollie Jarnigan Schuster. He was educated in the public schools. He death by his parents and two sisters, William is survived by his wife Celia; two sons: Jason Schuster and wife Kandas of Anna, and Keith Schuster and wife Tiffany of Anna; three daughters: Delores Marsh and husband Eddie of Quinlan, Charlotte Wilson and husband David of Mesquite, and Marsha Nelson and Larry Wilson of Fate; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, niece Carolyn Jean Lowrey of Lancaster and several cousins.
