Floyd H. Plummer, Falmouth farmer
Floyd H. Plummer of Falmouth was in a nursing home when the Flood of 1997 ravaged his property.
Mr. Plummer, 84, a retired farmer, died Wednesday at Highlands of Ft. Thomas Nursing Home.
He and his wife, Mabel Plummer, both suffered heart attacks before the flood, said a brother, Hubert Plummer of Foster. Mrs. Plummer is residing at Highlands.
The Plummers owned two trailer homes in Falmouth, both of which were destroyed by the flood in early March. Their homes have since been cleared away.
"They accepted it, " Hubert Plummer said. "These things happen to you in life."
Floyd Plummer, a friendly sort, grew tobacco and raised dairy cows in Pendleton County until he retired at age 65, his brother said.
His favorite pastime was trading cattle and horses.
Other survivors include sons, Terry Plummer of Butler and Robert Plummer of Florence; a daughter, Dorothy Cox of Ft. Thomas; a brother, Theodore Plummer of Falmouth; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 5 p.m. today at Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth. Memorials are suggested to Red Cross. Peoples Funeral Home, Butler, is handling arrangements.

Turney Burns, 24, of Melbourne, was found dead Tuesday in Claryville. He was a landscaper with Nelson Landscaping, Alexandria, and a member of Silver Grove Christian Church.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Clarence T. and Diane Burns of Melbourne; a sister, Angela Lou Pelle of Cold Spring; stepsisters, Sonia DeMoss of Park Hills and Denise Maines of Melbourne; and a stepbrother, Terry Leap of Melbourne.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to the church, 122 Second St., Silver Grove 41085.
Virginia Eades Chapman, 82, of Florence, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker and a member of Jones Memorial Methodist Church in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Survivors include her husband, Francis D. Chapman; a daughter, Sally Jo Hendricks of Chattanooga; a brother, G. Blayne Miller of Ft. Wright; a sister, Helen Dolwick of Okeechobee, Fla.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.
William Crowe, 68, of Latonia, died this morning at Rosedale Manor Nursing Home, Latonia. Arrangements are pending at Allison & Rose Funeral Home, Covington.
Norma Jean Cottrell Eversole, 65, of Carrollton, died Wednesday at her daughter's home in Louisville. She was a tavern owner.
Survivors include sons, Gary Stephen Raisor of Louisville and Randy Eversole of Lockport; daughters, Vicki R. Raisor of Louisville and Christie Eversole Ogburn of Carrollton; a brother, Ronald Cottrell of Carrollton; a sister, Marie Reed of Carrollton; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, in Carrollton. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Carrollton.
Josephine Mussman Forsee, 96, of Newport, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. Arrangements are pending at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport.
Cora Ney Hardy Jones, 81, of Florence, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. She was a foreign missionary with the Southern Baptist Convention, a member of Erlanger Baptist Church and of Bullitt County Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Jones; a daughter, Cora Bosworth of Ingleside, Ill.; sons, Buck Jones of Plano, Texas, Dennis Jones of Elgin, Ill., Guy Jones of Plymouth, Minn., Van Jones of Lebanon, Ohio, and Tony Jones of Independence; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 7:30 p.m. today at the church. Visitation will begin there at 6:30 p.m. today. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery, Bullitt County.
Clara B. Kennedy, 94, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday at Wesley Hall in Cincinnati. Arrangements are pending at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington.
Charles William Reis, 33, of Las Vegas, formerly of Erlanger, died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was a chef.
Survivors include his parents, John and Joyce Reis of Evansville, Tenn.; a daughter, Deborah Miller of Evansville; and a brother, Jack Reis of Erlanger.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice. Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger, is handling arrangements.
Kirtley Smith, 82, of Owenton, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a farmer and a member of Lancaster Baptist Church in Madison, Ind.
Survivors include his wife, Harriett Sharon Smith; sons, Carl Smith of Madison, Ind., and Lane Smith of Prestonburg; a brother, Acie Smith Jr. of Madison, Ind.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home, Seminary Street, Owenton. Burial will be in Dupont cemetery in Madison, Ind. Memorials are suggested to the church.
