Vincent Pelstring, owned paint store
Vincent E. Pelstring was a downtown Covington retailer for about 40 years.
Mr. Pelstring, 83, of Covington, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday at St. Charles Care Center in Covington. He was a retired owner of Pelstring Paints and a past president of the Covington Optimist Club and Covington Chamber of Commerce.
He was one of the original investors in the Northern Kentucky Industrial Park in Florence, said his wife, Cleon Hiltz Pelstring.
Mrs. Pelstring described her husband as one of the most honest and ethical men she knew.
"He enjoyed helping people. And he always gave his customers a good deal."
Mr. Pelstring was a member of Pike Street Merchants Association and a past president of Blessed Sacrament Church Holy Name Society. He also was a former member of Summit Hills Country Club.
Other survivors include a son, Dr. Mark Pelstring of Ft. Wright; daughters, Carolyn Gastright of Covington, Linda McDermott of New Orleans and Nancy Connelly of Cookeville, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Care Center Chapel. Visitation will begin there at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.
Memorials are suggested to the nursing home, 500 Farrell Drive, Covington 41011, or to charity. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

Marguerite Leonard Cline, 77, of Crescent Park, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
Arrangements are pending at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill.
Leila Durham, 89, of Dayton, died at 9:29 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. She was a retired sales clerk with Lazarus Department Stores. Her husband, Earl Durham, died in 1973.
Survivors include sons, Arlo Durham of Delmar, Del., and Lowell Durham of Highland Heights; daughters, Uarda Russell of Cincinnati and Sharron Blackburn of Demossville; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati. Memorials are suggested to American Lung Association, 11113 Kenwood Road, Cincinnati 45242.
Bobby Eades, 50, of Erlanger, died Monday at his home after a long illness. He was a regional sales manager with Safety-Kleen Co. in Elgin, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Eades; a daughter, Elizabeth Eades at home; his parents, Guy Eades of Wilmore and Alma Eades of Frankfort; sisters, Bonnie Maddox of Hustonville, Ruth Cochran of Stanford, Kathy
LaVey of Lexington and Nellene New of Frankfort; brothers, Kenneth Eades of Stanford, Con Eades and Manuel Eades, both of Georgetown, Keith Eades of Elizabethtown and Randell Eades of Danville.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home, Danville. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. tonight at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger, and 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery. Ray Egan Jr., 54, of Covington, died Tuesday at his home. He was a retired employee of Kroger Co. and a youth softball and baseball coach. He was a District No. 28 Knothole Baseball supervisor and athletic director at St. Benedict Church, Covington. He was a member of the church's Holy Name Society and coach of Cottage A.C. Little Boys team in Covington.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Farmer Egan; sons, Ray Egan III and Chris Egan, both of Covington; a daughter, Mindy Ballinger of Covington; brothers, Thomas Egan of Falmouth and Richard Egan of Independence; a sister, Anne Wilson of Ft. Wright; and two grandchildren.

Leyla Engle, 83, of Bullittsville, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a homemaker and a former clerk with Whitakers Grocery in Bullittsville. She was a member of Bullittsville Christian Church and Bullittsville Homemakers. Her husband, Delbert Engle, died in 1990.
Survivors include daughters, Doris Newland of Hebron and Wilma Engle of Covington; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Belleview Cemetery. Lawrence Eversole, 73, of Cincinnati, formerly of Newport, died Monday at Blue Ash Nurs ing Home in Cincinnati. He was a jockey, horse trainer and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, Lawrence G. Eversole of Newport; daughters, Linda Santini of Newport and Catherine Parrota of Cleveland; a brother, J. Eversole; and eight grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Radel Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
Rose Mary Fredrick, 85, of Ft. Thomas, died at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday at Highlands of Ft. Thomas Nursing Home.

Esther Gilbert, 91, of Highland Heights, died at 10:47 a.m. Sunday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home in Highland Heights. She was a homemaker.

Fred M. Habermehl Jr., 80, of Augusta, died Monday at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a retired mechanical engineer with Clopay Corp., Augusta, and a member of St. Augustine Church, Augusta. He was a member of St. Augustine-St. James Knights of Columbus Council; a former member of Augusta Volunteer Fire Department; a member of Pioneer Club of Clopay Corp. and AA Cruisers Car Club, Bracken County.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Cracraft Habermehl; a daughter, Anna "Corky" Mains of Augusta; a son, Fred "Buddy" Habermehl III of Ross, Ohio; sisters, Ethel Henize Doddridge of Lynchburg, Ohio, Betty Apple man and Ruth Laycock, both of Augusta; brothers, Stanley Habermehl of Augusta and Dick Habermehl of Wilmington, Ohio; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Joyce Nolder, 67, of Maysville, died Monday at her home. She was a retired dispatcher with Maysville Police Department. Her husband, William G. Nolder, died in 1992.
Survivors include sons, Brent Nolder of Trinity, and Jay and Tim Nolder of Maysville; four grandchildren, one step-grand child and three great-grandchild ren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Brell and Son Funeral Home, Maysville. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sandy Springs cemetery in Sandy Springs, Ohio.
Madeline Norris, 54, of Newport, died at 3:30 a.m. today at her home. Arrangements are pending with Jones & Simpson Funeral Home, Covington.
Marie A. Riedel, 96, of Erlanger, died Saturday at her home. She was a homemaker. A daughter, Lieselotte Rauh, died in 1932. A son, Karl Rauh, died in 1944.
Survivors include daughters, Lydia E. Dovenbarger of Erlanger, Marieanne Hechtfisher and Anni Starke, both of Germany; sons, Walter Riedel and Joachim Riedel, both of Germany; and three grandchildren.

Arthur J. Spicer, 90, of Ft. Thomas, died Monday at Highlands of Ft. Thomas Nursing Home. He was a self-employed advertising agent and a marketing instructor at Chase College of Law.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Spicer; daughters, Jean Carroll of Liberal, Kan., and Joy Erpenbeck of Ft. Thomas; sons, Robert A. Spicer of Clyde, Ohio, Arthur J. Spicer Jr. of Los Gatos, Calif., and James Spicer of Aptos, Calif.; a brother, Richard W. Spicer of Atlanta; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sandra Sue Turner, 43, of Glencoe, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Grant County, in Williamstown. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Ellen Turner of Glencoe; brothers, Jimmy Turner, Rodney Turner, Roger Turner, Samuel Turner and Daniel Turner, all of Covington; and sisters, Debbie Turner of Erlanger, Charlotte McNees of Florence and Charlene DeWit of Dayton, Ohio.

Cornelius Woeste, 91, of Ft. Thomas, died Monday at Highlands of Ft. Thomas Nursing Home. He was a retired gardener and a drill press operator with Wadsworth Watch Case Co., Dayton. He was a member of St. Joseph Court 1725 Catholic Order of Foresters. His wife, Mary Anna Woeste, died in 1992.
Survivors include daughters, Janet Schmitz of Cincinnati, Regina Daesch of Coconut Creek, Fla., and Claire Merman of Newport; a son, Charles Woeste of Villa Hills; a brother, Theodore Woeste of Alexandria; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
