Wayne L. Hundemer, loved his family
Wayne L. Hundemer knew many people in Bellevue.
For one thing, he was the youngest brother of the late Wil Hundemer, who governed the city as its mayor in the early 1980s. For another, he just was a friendly person.
"He liked everybody and knew everybody here in Bellevue. I loved him, " said his wife of 20 years, Sandy Wiethorn Hundemer.
"He was a wonderful husband."
Mr. Hundemer, 49, of Bellevue, died Monday at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, apparently from a problem with his heart. He'd become ill while driving recently and didn't recover.
Mr. Hundemer enjoyed basketball and football and collecting signs and pictures for his home bar, his wife said.
Her husband was a hard worker, Mrs. Hundemer said. He also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Other survivors include his nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas.

Wayne T. Campbell, 52, of Cincinnati, formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Monday at his home. He was a retired postal worker with the U.S. Postal Service, and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include a daughter, Natasha Whallen of Erlanger; a sister, Nancy Daniel of Ludlow; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Radel Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
John Eilers, 88, of Covington, died at 6:15 a.m. Monday at his home.
Survivors include a sister, Catherine Eilers of Covington.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Augustine Church, Covington. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to charity.
Francis J. Groeber, 84, of Alexandria, died at 10:10 a.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. He was a retired machinist with Northrup and Grumman Corp. in Bethpage, N.Y., and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. His wife, Florence Budd Groeber, died in 1992.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara Kohls of Alexandria and Patricia Groeber of Bethpage, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Bishop Brossart High School, Grove and Jefferson streets, Alexandria 41001.
Sterling "Keg" Henry, 89, of Pike County, formerly of Harrison County, died Saturday at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Pike County. He was a retired farmer and an Army veteran of World War II. Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Sadieville. Visitation will begin there at 5 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Sadieville Cemetery. Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana, is handling arrangements.
Loretta Ossenbeck Kreidel Herbol, 84, of Covington, died at 1:07 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired medical records librarian with St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington, and a former member of Corpus Christi Church, Newport.
Survivors include her husband, Edward H. Herbol; a son, Ralph Kreidel of Toledo, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Joyce Rhoads of Cincinnati; a sister, Gertrude Schunder of Detroit; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Agnes Church, Ft. Wright. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright. Memorials are suggested in the form of Masses, or to the church, 840 Isabella St., Newport 41071.
Helen Ruth Martin Jordan, 69, of Newport, died Tuesday at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Full Gospel Assembly Church, Newport.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Richard D. Martin of Ft. Thomas; daughters, Glenda Gray and Nancy Jordan, both of Newport; brothers, Raymond Martin of Bellevue and Jimmy Martin of Newport; a sister, Virginia Schmidt of Newport; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church. Entombment will be in Evergreen Mausoleum, Southgate. Radel Funeral Home, Newport, is handling arrangements.
Wendell E. Kaufmann, 72, of Edgewood, died Sunday at his home. He was a retired terminal operator with Ashland Oil Co. and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Latonia. He was a member of Masonic Lodge in Cheviot, Ohio, and a member of Low 12 Club in Cheviot. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Kupper Kaufmann; a son, Robert William Kaufmann of Hartwell, Ohio; a daughter, Sharon Gail Evans of Salem, Va.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Connley Bros. Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright. Memorials are suggested to charity.
Terry Keiser, 38, of Taylor Mill, died Monday in New Orleans of a gunshot wound. He was a data processing manager with National Underwriters, Cincinnati, and a member of Latonia Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Roland Keiser; a stepson, Chris Lenhoff of Taylor Mill; a daughter, Courtney Keiser of Taylor Mill; a stepdaughter, Casey Lenhoff of Taylor Mill; brothers, John Keiser and Dan Keiser, both of Cincinnati; his mother, Dorothy Keiser of Cincinnati.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be 4 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.

Hattie Doane Martin, 94, of Florence, died at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. She was a homemaker and a member of Marcus Crooked Creek Baptist Church, Pendleton County, where she had taught Sunday school. Her husband, Chester Martin, died in 1990.
Survivors include a son, Leroy Martin of Dayton, Ohio; daughters, Eloise Link and Evelyn Munson, both of Florence; brothers, Chester Doane of Florence and Audrey Doane of Covington; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Memorials are suggested to the church or to charity.
Linda Rich Penick, 48, of Piner, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. Arrangements are pending at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence.
Elmo Pribble, 80, of Butler, died Monday at River Valley Nursing Home in Butler. He was a farmer and a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church, Pendleton County. He was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Pribble of Butler; sons, Mike Pribble and Tony Pribble, both of Butler; daughters, Karen Annunziata of Longwood, Fla., Sylvia McClanahan of Falmouth, Gladys Smith and Judy Pribble, both of Butler; brothers, Tom Pribble of Butler, Lyle Pribble of Demossville and David Pribble of Falmouth; a sister, Ruby Owen of Butler; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Loretta Renfro, 73, of Covington, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. She was a retired employee of Booth Hospitals, Covington and Florence, and a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church in Covington.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Stillwell of Cincinnati; a son, Larry Henderson of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, Wallace Oden of Covington; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Visitation will begin there at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Walnut Hills Cemetery, Cincinnati. Jones and Simpson Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
Dorothy Sebastian, 58, of Burlington, died at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a homemaker and a member of Beech Grove Holiness Church, Burlington.
Survivors include her husband, Granville Sebastian; daughters, Susan Fugate of Union, Robin Abner of Elsmere, Kim Young of Jacksonville, Fla., and Della Kemper of Dry Ridge; sons, Larry Sebastian of Crittenden, Jeff Sebastian and Gary Sebastian, both of Burlington, Ken Sebastian of Crescent Springs, Don Sebastian of Sparta and Brian Sebastian of Cincinnati; sisters, Nina Mae Graziani of Eufaula, Okla., Geneva Mains of Covington, Mildred Elliott of Dry Ridge, Lillian Sebastian of Florence, Sherry Freeman of Erlanger and Della Isbel of Paducah; brothers, Sam Johnson and Eddie Johnson, both of Dry Ridge, Noah Johnson of Visalia, Jim Johnson of Union, Richard Johnson of Williamstown and George Johnson of Burlington; and 20 grandchildren.

Edgar L. Shaffer, 88, of Southgate, died at 5:15 p.m. Monday at St. Charles Care Center in Ft. Wright. He was a retired truck driver with Model Laundry, Cincinnati, and a member of Teamsters Local No. 185, Cincinnati. His wife, Helen C. Shaffer, and daughter, Carol L. Hedger, both died in 1994.
Survivors include sons, Paul Shaffer of Lexington and Richard Shaffer of Alexandria; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Therese Church, Southgate. Visitation will be 8:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas.
