K. Klaene, businessman, Thomas More booster
Kenneth C. Klaene attracted friends with his easygoing personality, whether he was working at Thomas More College's bingo games or at his job at Clopay Building Products, Cincinnati.
Mr. Klaene, 55, of Lakeside Park, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Hospice, Covington.
"He was very friendly and laid-back, " said his wife, Marcia A. Klaene. "He was quick to help anyone who needed help."
He expected a lot of the people who worked with him, but he was thought of highly."
Mr. Klaene was director of business analysis for Clopay Building Products and previously had worked 27 years at Drackett Co., Cincinnati, where he was a director of operations.
He served as a eucharistic minister with Blessed Sacrament Church, Ft. Mitchell. He was a member of the Thomas More College boosters; a former coach for knothole baseball, soccer and softball; and a member of the National Association of Accountants.
"He was a good father and was there to help his children, whether it was a sporting skill, a resume or advice on purchasing something, " his wife said.
In his spare time, he enjoyed golf and bowling.
Other survivors include daughters, Laura Trimpe of Erlanger and Karen Klaene of Lakeside Park; sons, Brian K. Klaene, Kevin D. Klaene, and Matthew A. Klaene, all of Lakeside Park; brothers, Mark Klaene and Nicholas Klaene, both of Cincinnati, Michael Klaene of Downington, Pa., and Paul Klaene of Statesville, N.C.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger.
Entombment will be in Mother of God cemetery Mausoleum, Ft. Wright.

Minnie Asher, 86, of Independence, died at 7:20 p.m. Friday at Rosedale Manor nursing home, Covington. Arrangements are pending at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence.
Irene Carrigan Bowles, 80, of Maysville, died at 4:20 p.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice, Covington. She was a former owner/operator of Ryan's Drugstore, Maysville. Her husband, Gerald Bowles, died in 1969.
Survivors include sons, Jerry F. Bowles of Mt. Healthy, Ohio, and Jon Bowles of Covington; daughters, Linda Sulcer Woodmansee of Memphis, Tenn., and Karla Richards of Paris, Ky.; a brother, Frank L. Carrigan Jr. of Aberdeen, Ohio; nine grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Maysville, witth visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Maysville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, 1 W. McDonald Parkway, Maysville 41056 or St. Elizabeth Hospice, 401 E. 20th St., Covington 41014.

John Kaiser Jr., 41, of Crittenden, died at 10:58 a.m. Friday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a construction supervisor with Lowe-Mar Manufacturing in Boone County.
Survivors include parents, John Kaiser Sr. and Rose Baker Kaiser of Hebron; sons, John Kaiser III, Erick Kaiser and Philip Kaiser of Texas; sisters, Bonnie Kaiser of Covington, Jill Kilby of Florence and Stacey Scott of Elsmere; brothers, Ricky Kaiser of Cincinnati, Jeffery Kaiser of Warsaw, Ronald Kaiser and Dwayne Kaiser of Covington and James Kaiser of Burgin. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence, with visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.
Gertrude M. Sobecki Rafalske, 82, of Ft. Wright, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was an office manager for 40 years with Rafalske & Lane, CPA, Cincinnati. She was a member of St. Agnes Church, Ft. Wright. Her husband, Medard "Bud" F. Rafalske, died in 1992.
Survivors include a sister, Helen Bodemski of South Bend, Ind., and two grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.

Jean Reppetto, 75, of Alexandria, died Thursday at the Highlands of Ft. Thomas nursing home. She was a retired saleswoman with McAlpin's, Cincinnati. Her husband, Earl C. Reppetto, died in 1995.
Survivors include daughters, Joni Rowland of Alexandria and Janet Moore of Pittsburgh; sisters, Betty Hess of Bellevue and Joyce Driehaus of Ft. Thomas; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at A.C. Dobbling & Son Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas, with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to Northern Kentucky Emergency Medical Services.
William S. Robertson, 66, of Hebron, died Friday at his home. Arrangements are pending at Stith Funeral Home, Florence.
Herman B. Steenken, 84, of Ft. Mitchell, died Thursday at his home. He was a retired co-owner of Ft. Mitchell Dairy.
He was a member of Catholic Order of Foresters and Blessed Sacrament Church, Ft. Mitchell, and an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Viola A. Steenken; a daughter, LaVerne A. Schmidt of Villa Hills; a brother, Clarence Steenken of Burlington; and three grandchildren.
