Ivan L. Wolfe, deacon, enjoyed helping people
Ivan L. Wolfe, 70, a long-time church deacon and farmer, tried to set an example through the life he led.
"He tried to raise our son in the Christian way, " said his wife, Alma Moore Wolfe.
Mr. Wolfe, of Falmouth, was a deacon and served 25 years as treasurer at Short Creek Baptist Church in Pendleton County.
A Pendleton County native, he died Thursday at his home.
The couple raised tobacco and cattle.
"He was kind to people, " his wife said.
"He liked to be around people and help them out. If he could help, he would do it."
Other survivors include a son, Greg Wolfe of Falmouth; his mother, Florence Klaber Wolfe of Falmouth; sisters, Geneva Sorrell of Falmouth, Juanita Wyatt of Richmond and Marilyn Petry of Conover, Ohio; and one granddaughter.
A daughter, Melody Lane Wolfe, died in 1957.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth. Visitation will be there from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.
Memorials are suggested to Parkinson's disease research.

Eddie Andrews, 72, of Covington, died Thursday at Alaska Acres Care Center, Cincinnati.
Arrangements are pending at Jones and Simpson Funeral Home, Covington.
Almeda Arnim, 95, of Newport, died at 8 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Washington Care Center, Cincinnati.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Newport.
Her husband, William Arnim, died in 1967. A son, Donald Arrington, died in 1972. Survivors include three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Baptist Church. Visitation will be there from 10 a.m. to time of services. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to the church, Fifth and Park Avenue, Newport 41071. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport, is handling arrangements.
Thurman J. Hutton, 76, of Florence, died at 3:50 a.m. Sunday at his home.
He was a retired farmer and a former welder for Cincinnati Ventilating Co., Florence. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Latonia.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Collins Hutton.
Services were Tuesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Burial was in New Vine Run Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
George P. Kennedy, 80, of Brooksville, died Wednesday at his home.
He was a machinist with I.T. Verdin Co., Cincinnati, and an Army veteran of World War II.
His son, Jeff Kennedy, died in 1988. Survivors include his wife, Beulah Kennedy; daughters, Linda Borchers of Marion, Ind., and Caulette Talbert of Boone County; sisters, Doris Ernst and Louise Vanlandingham, both of Falmouth; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Augusta. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. today at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Brooksville. Burial will be in Johnsville Cemetery, Foster. Me morials: Hospice of Hope, 1 West McDonald Parkway, Maysville 41056.
Reva Lemming, 67, of Highland Heights, died at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. She was an employee of Atlas Greeting Cards.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara Cain of Newport and Marian Metzner of Cincinnati; sisters, Emma Cole of Newport and Judy Rummage of Indiana; a brother, James Lewallen of Southgate; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will be there from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
Elizabeth W. McNally, 89, of Necedah, Wis., formerly of Covington, died Aug. 6 at her home.
Memorial services will be at 8 a.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Covington. Necedah Family Funeral Home in Lancaster, Wis., is handling arrangements.
Robert F. Patterson, 40, of Newport, was found dead Thursday in the Ohio River. He was a self-employed laborer.
Survivors include his mother, Agnes Patterson of Newport; brothers, John Patterson of Newport and Larry Patterson of Florence; sisters, Frances Patterson of the state of California, Rose Akers and Gladys Patterson, both of Newport, and Lana Patterson of Grant County.
Services will be at noon Monday at the Church of God, Newport. Visitation will be there from 10 a.m. to time of services. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, is in charge of arrangements.
Mary E. Steuart, 90, of Frankfort, formerly of Erlanger, died Friday at her home.
She was a retired telephone operator and supervisor for AT&T;, Cincinnati. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday school class, Frankfort.
Her other memberships included Kilgore Chapter No. 3; Telephone Pioneers of America; Bristow Chapter No. 31, Order of the Eastern Star in Erlanger; Covington Shrine No. 10, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem; Democratic Women's Club of Kentucky; South Shelby Homemaker's Club; and Franklin County Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a sister, Flora Long of Frankfort.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation will be there from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. Memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church, Frankfort.
Virginia Roberts Bethel Tharp, 86, of Warsaw, died Friday at Green Valley Health Care, Carrollton.
She was a retired employee with Carroll County Memorial Hospital and a member of War saw Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons, Robert T. Bethel of Warsaw and Charles Bethel of Louisville; sisters, Sabbath Ogburn of Carrollton, Paulina Furnish of Covington and Ruby Stewart of Jonesville; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will be there from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight and from 10 a.m. to time of services Sunday. Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery.
William E. Underwood, 71, of Williamstown, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Hospice, Covington. He was a retired machinist with Ford Motor Co., Fairfax, Ohio, and a member of First Baptist Church, Ludlow, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Rite.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Robinson Underwood; a son, William G. Underwood of Hebron; daughters, Mary M. Wenstrup of Seminole, Fla., Linda S. Bauer of Williamstown, Sylvia L. Goley of Verona, and Rebecca A. Diedrichs of Hebron; a sister, Myrtle Marcum of Frankfort; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
