John A. Geiman, volunteer
John A. Geiman found joy in his children and any other child lucky enough to cross paths with the lifelong Cold Spring resident.
"He loved kids: not only his own, all kids, " said his wife, Betty Lemker Geiman. "He was always there when you needed him."
Mr. Geiman, a World War II veteran, never stopped volunteering his time and energy to family, neighbors and the community at large. He was a member of Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph Court No. 2094 Catholic Order of Foresters.
He helped raise money for scholarships to Catholic high schools and participated in Tootsie Roll fund-raisers in the Knights of Columbus.
"He always was busy. He just kept himself involved, " Mrs. Geiman said.
Mr. Geiman, 75, of Cold Spring, died Wednesday at his home. He was a retired records clerk with Veterans Administration Hospital, Cincinnati, and a member of Father DeJaco Council.
His generosity was evident in his own back yard, where he raised flowers and too many vegetables.
"He would give half of them away because we couldn't possibly eat them all, " Mrs. Geiman said.
Mr. Geiman had a passion for University of Kentucky basketball and the Cincinnati Reds, watching a baseball game the evening before he passed away.
"We did things as a family. He was a good husband."
Survivors also include his sons, Doug Geiman of Alexandria and Daryll Geiman of Cold Spring; sisters, Joanna Secrist of Ft. Wright and Frances Kappas of Highland Heights; brothers, Joseph Geiman, Bill Geiman and Aloysius Geiman, all of Cold Spring, and Lionel Geiman of Highland Heights; and three grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Cold Spring.
Willie R. Coyle, 74, of Morning View, died Wednesday at Florence Park Care Center in Florence.
Arrangements are pending at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence.
Gene T. Curtis, 69, of Augusta, died at 3:23 p.m. Monday at Columbia Hospital, Maysville. He was a retired maintenance man with Clopay Corp., Augusta.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth "Pat" Bogue Curtis; daughters, Rebecca Lee Edie of Augusta, Julia Kay Blevins of Falmouth and Penny Jane Ruf of Foster; brothers, Robert Curtis and Adrian Curtis, both of Augusta; and five grandchildren.
Services were this morning at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Augusta. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Association, 745 W. Lottie Mae Hale, 95, of Covington, died at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home, Highland Heights. She was a homemaker and a member of Garrard Street Church of Christ, Covington. Her husband, William Henry Hale, died in 1970. Sons Roy Hale and Morris Hale, died in 1939 and 1969, respectively.
Survivors include daughters, Regina Myers and Janet Hunzicker, both of Covington; a sister, Laura Ross of Indiana; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great- grandchildren.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Connley Bros. Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.
Charlotte Smith Lamere, 66, of Vicksburg, Miss., formerly of Cynthiana, died Tuesday at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Mississippi. She was a member of the American Kennel Club, Vicksburg Little Theater and Rug Hooker Association. She also was a Communicant of the Church of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Vicksburg, where she was active in the church ministries.
Survivors include a son, Charles Y. Lamere of Charlotte, N.C.; stepsons, Robert J. Lamere of Vicksburg, Miss., Mark Allen Lamere of Kenner, La., Phillip Todd Lamere of Metaire, La.; a brother, E. J. Smith of Cynthiana; a sister, Anna Lee Smith of Cynthiana; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home in Vicksburg. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana.

William A. Lonnemann, 91, of Florence, died Wednesday at Florence Park Care Center in Florence.

Mario B. Pinto, 19, of Burlington, died Monday at University Hospital, Cincinnati, of injuries suffered in a fall. He was a luggage carrier with ServiceMaster, Cincinnati.
Survivors include his parents, Leandro and Eva Pinto of Burlington; and sisters, Juana Pinto and Maribel Pinto, both of Burlington.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Burlington. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery.
Barbara C. Bungenstock Rouse, 52, of Erlanger, died Monday at her home. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Angie Rouse of Florence; sons, Ricky Rouse of Florence and Victor Rouse of Crittenden; her father, Harold Bungenstock of Florence; sisters, Bonnie Smith of Perry, Sue Dunwoody of Hebron and Beverly Dickerson of Louisville; brothers, Bernie Bungenstock of Florence, Barry Bungenstock of Hebron and Brad Bungenstock of Burlington; and three grandchildren.

Albert Lee Slayback, 56, of Boone County, died Monday at Henry County of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Kenneth Charles Walker, 69, of Ft. Thomas, died at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday at his home. He was a retired controller and financial analyst for Ohio River Co., Cincinnati.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Gunkel Walker; daughters, Vicki Sinclair of Crestview Hills and Cindy Mills of Covington; sons, Kenneth Walker and Michael Walker, both of Alexandria; a sister, Athalie McGee of Ft. Thomas; and eight grandchildren.
