Opal Huff, devoted to family
Interest in her family was paramount in the life of Opal F. Huff.
"She was always thinking of her children. We were her main concern, " said Mrs. Huff's son, Jim Huff of Ft. Mitchell.
Mrs. Huff, 83, of Ft. Mitchell, died Saturday morning in St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
"She was just a very concerned person, and she is going to be sorely missed by her family. I talked to her or stopped to see her every day, " said Huff, a Realtor.
Mrs. Huff retired a number of years ago as a receptionist with Western Southern Life Insurance Co., Cincinnati.
She had an opportunity to travel during her retirement years, her son said.
"I took her to Hawaii, to New York and Washington, D.C. I was able to show her some of the country. I'm really glad I got to spend that time with her, " said Huff.
Mrs. Huff was a member of Northern Kentucky Baptist Church, Lakeside Park. Her husband, Lemon I. Huff, died in 1981.
Other survivors include sons, Rev. Denzil Huff of Nashville, Tenn., and Clifford Huff of Villa Hills; a brother, Raymond Lovely of Mt. Sterling; a sister, Hazel Howard of Mt. Sterling; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to the church building fund, 2681 Turkeyfoot Road, Lakeside Park, Ky. 41017.
Vivian Acra, 86, of Cincinnati, died at 3:25 p.m. Saturday at Mercy Hospital-Fairfield in Cincinnati. She was a retired department store clerk. Her husband, Wilbur L. Acra, died in 1977.
Survivors include a sister, Jane Coates of Umatilla, Fla.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to St. Rita School for the Deaf, 1720 Glendale-Milford Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45215.
Virginia H. Anderson, 88, of Ft. Thomas, died at 12:43 p.m. Friday at Highlands of Ft. Thomas nursing home. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Agnes Church, Ft. Wright. Her husband, W. Ray Anderson, died in 1974.
Survivors include sons, Thomas J. Anderson of Ft. Wright, Edward W. Anderson of Covington and Robert J. Anderson of Cincinnati; a brother, Robert L. Bichlmeir of Ft. Thomas; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. The family will welcome friends in the church's Murphy Hall after the service. Burial will be St. Mary Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Redwood School and Rehabilitation Center, 71 Orphanage Road, Ft. Mitchell, Ky. 41017. Connley Bros. Funeral Home, Latonia, is handling arrangements.
Bryan M. Blair, 29, of Covington, died at 1:38 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a salesman with Brandy Meats, Cincinnati, and a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Cincinnati.
Survivors include his wife, Kim Blair of Park Hills; a daughter, Marisa Alyse Blair of Park Hills; a son, Tanner Blair of Park Hills; his parents, Ben and Delores Blair of Canyon Lake, Calif.; a brother, Scot Blair of Canyon Lake, Calif.; and two grandmothers .
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Connley Bros. Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Betty Ann Campbell, 63, of Southgate, died at 8:15 a.m. Saturday at Crestview Parke Care Center, Cincinnati. She was a homemaker and a retired bookkeeper.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Campbell; daughters, Dianne Spenlau and Denise Miller, both of Ft. Thomas; sons, Michael Campbell, Robert Campbell and Donald Campbell, all of Southgate; a sister, Shirley Murray of Ft. Thomas; a brother, John Groh of Cincinnati; and five grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Therese Church, Southgate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas. Jewell V. Ferrell, 82, of Foster, died Friday at her home. She was a retired employee of St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington, and a member of Fairview Methodist Church, Johnsville. Her husband, Emery Ferrell, died in March. A son, Don Ferrell, died in May.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Sharp of Foster; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were this morning at Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home, Augusta. Burial was in Johnsville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, 1 West McDonald Parkway, Maysville, Ky. 41056.
Joseph K. Figeley, 78, of Richmond, died Friday at Kentucky Veterans Rest Home, Wilmore. He was a salesman and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include sons, William Figeley of Saugatuck, Mich., Alan Figeley of Uvalde, Texas, and Thomas Figeley of Cincinnati; daughters, Evelyn Figeley of San Diego, Mary Figeley of Denver and Betty Figeley of Harlan; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Robert W. Fulweiler, 81, of Covington, died at 2:10 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit in Covington. He was a retired audit clerk with General Foods and a treasurer of Seventh Day Adventist Church, Taylor Mill. His wife, Catherine Fulweiler, died in 1974.
Survivors include sons, Robert Fulweiler Jr. of Erlanger and John Fulweiler of Covington; a daughter, Jane Poynter of Woodland, Calif.; a brother, Harry Fulweiler of Thomas; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
Louis L. Hulker, 71, of Florence, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington.

Rhoda Jenkins, of Ludlow, died at 10:55 a.m. Friday at Florence Park Care Center, Florence. She was a retired business office worker with Kline's Department Store, Cincinnati. Her husband, John R. Jenkins, died in 1988.
Survivors include daughters, Pat Seever and Sue Harney, both of Ludlow; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Ludlow. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.
Thelma Johnson, 96, of Owenton, formerly of Belleview, died at 3:55 a.m. Friday at her home. She was a retired social worker and a former elementary school teacher and principal. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Christian Neighbors and the Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Owenton, where she was a member of the J. O. Y. Philathea Sunday School Class and the Virginia Wango Missionary Group. She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Belleview and the Bluebird Sunday School Class.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane Roark Cosby of Frankfort; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Rogers Funeral Home, Owenton. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Greenville.
William McKinley King, 76, of Covington, died at 1 a.m. Friday at his home. He was a warehouse man for the Merchants Cold Storage Co., Cincinnati. He was a general board member and head usher at the Montana Avenue Church of the Nazarene, Cincinnati, and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie King; sons, Billy Joe King of Covington, Henry King of Taylor Mill and Mark King of Erlanger; daughters, Beverly Ball of Ryland Heights, Sheila Jones, Gloria Anderson, Elizabeth Hunter and Rhonda King, all of Covington, and Kristi Armstrong of Westwood, Ohio; a brother, Charles King of Grant County; sisters, Myrtle Williams and Rhoda Morillion, both of Lawrenceburg, Ind., and Jane Sandlin of Bethel, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the church. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Home-Health Hospice.
Anna Maude Atherton Lippert, 79, of Augusta, died Friday at Columbia Hospital, Maysville. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Oscar Henry Lippert, died in 1988.
Survivors include a son, Oscar "Buddy" Lippert Jr. of Maysville; daughters, Bertha Workman of Carlisle, Patty Norris of Mt. Olivet and Rosemary Lippert of Maysville; sisters, Edna Lippert, Betty Puccini, Catherine Adams and Mary Swanger, all of Augusta; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. to day at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Augusta. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Dover.
Sue Wilson Lawson, 49, of Verona, died at 4:21 p.m. Saturday at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. She worked for Thatcher Tubes Co., Florence.
Survivors include her husband, Walter B. Lawson of Verona; a son, Walter Jason Lawson of Verona; daughters, Kim Rose of Knoxville, Ky., and Kay Lawson of Verona; her mother, Geneva Wilson of Glencoe; a brother, Jimmy Wilson of Glencoe; a sister, Helen Hendren of Warsaw; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona. Visitation will be there from 5 to 9 tonight. Burial will be in the Napoleon cemetery in Gallatin County.
Elmer Lowe, 65, of Florence, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a retired employee of the hospital, and a Korean War veteran.
Survivors include sons, Denny Lowe of St. Bernard, Ohio, Rick Lowe of Phoenix, Timothy Lowe and Jason Lowe, both of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughters, Nancy Dean of Newport and Ginger Bowles of Florence; brothers, Joe Lowe of Newport and Carl Lowe of Taylor Mill; a sister, Wanda Garrison of Hillsboro, Ohio; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Dorothy A. Macht, 92, of Ft. Thomas, died at 11:05 p.m. Fri day at Highlands of Ft. Thomas nursing home in Ft. Thomas. She was a sales clerk with C&D; Record Shop, Newport, and a member of the Republican Club. She was a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ, Ft. Thomas.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne Hoffman of Ft. Thomas; sons, Raymond E. Macht Jr. of Cincinnati and Kenneth R. Macht of Vero Beach, Fla.; a brother, Edward Zander of Ionia, Mich.; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
