Louie Fann was an outdoorsman who learned to hunt at an early age to help feed his family.
Mr. Fann, 93, of Ft. Thomas, used to live in a log cabin in southern Illinois.
He learned to hunt squirrels and rabbits as a youngster and remained an avid hunter, said a nephew, Noel Trout of Pendleton County.
"He was an ardent fisher and hunter.
He was quite good at it. He ate everything that he caught, " Mr. Trout said. "When I was a youngster, I used to go hunting with him."

His nephew said Mr. Fann had a pioneering spirit that allowed him to remain independent for most of his life.
