Loreda Estenfelder, active in her community
Loreda "Chip" Estenfelder lived a long life and made the most of her time here on earth.
Ms. Estenfelder, a realtor who lived in Covington, left a remarkable legacy in local business, politics and community service when she died at the age of 94 Tuesday morning in the Hospice Unit at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington.
"She was a very involved person. She wanted to be active, " said niece Patsy Williamson of Burkesville, who temporarily lived in Covington to care for her aunt.
"She was busy in her church, she was busy in the Democratic Club, and she was busy in the Board of Realtors. She loved every day of that."
Ms. Estenfelder owned the Estenfelder Realty Company in Latonia and Florence from 1958 to 1977.
She held leadership positions with the National Association of Realtors and the Kentucky Association of Realtors.
She also was president of the Kentucky Women's Council of Realtors in 1966 and a charter member of the group's Campbell-Kenton-Boone chapter, of which she was president in 1968.
Ms. Estenfelder operated the Madison Avenue Beauty Shop in Covington in the early 1950s.
She also served on the city of Covington's board of adjustments, its tax evaluation and equalization board and its citizens advisory committee.
She was a member of the Democratic Women's Club in Kenton County and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Covington, where she was on the board of managers of the kindergarten and day-care center at the church.
Ms. Estenfelder was preceded in death by a son, Harold Moody Chipley.
Survivors include sisters, Kathryn Slade Fightmaster of Latonia, Elizabeth Slade Iorfida of Cincinnati and Wilma Nicholas of Bradenton, Fla.; and 14 nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Friday.
Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Larry B. Boggs Sr., 51, of Covington, died Saturday. He was a construction worker for B.J. Novelty Company.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Marcum Boggs of Covington; his mother, Mary Lee Eads Boggs of Covington; sons, Larry Boggs, Jr., of Waddy; Waldo Boggs of Dry Ridge; and Michael M. Boggs of Covington; a brother, Ronald Boggs of Covington; a sister, Cynthia Francis of Corinth; and six grandchildren.

Ulysses G. Browning, 81, of Ryland Heights, formerly of Letcher County, died Monday at Mountain Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Cincinnati.
He was a carpenter for more than 50 years in Carpenters Union Local 697, a former teacher in a one-room school in Letcher County and a founding member of Community Pentecostal Church.
He was a former Boy Scout leader and a member of Masonic Bradford Lodge No. 123.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Eureka Colwell Browning; daughters, Maxie Jane Wolfinbarger of Independence and Tammy Gwendolyn Gulley, of Florence, Ala.; sons, Joseph Douglas Browning, Grant Rubin Browning and Daniel Winfield Browning, all of Covington, Jack Randal Browning of Western Hills, Cincinnati, Cletis Gale Browning of Orlando, Fla., and Ricky Glenn Browning, of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Joyce Ann Hogg, of Letcher County; brothers, Joseph Thomas Browning of Letcher County and Albert Browning of Vicco; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. at Community Pentecostal Church of God, Taylor Mill Road, Independence. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Helen June Creamer, 66, of Cynthiana, died Sunday at her residence.
She was a homemaker.
Surviving are daughters, Brenda Tesch, of Portland, Ore., and Angie Rehmet, of Cynthiana; sons Vince Creamer and Daryl Creamer, both of Cynthiana; a brother, Charles Fitchpatrick Creamer of Cynthiana; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 5 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Dorothy "Dottie" J. Losey, 66, of Fort Thomas, died Friday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. She was an accountant with Northern Kentucky Vocational and Technical School.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Losey of Fort Thomas; sons, Butch Losey of Cincinnati, Dan Losey of Fort Thomas and Greg Losey of Alexandria; sisters, Hilda Dege of Peebles, Ohio, Lynn Fessler of Erlanger; and Nancy Litch of Cincinnati; brothers, Jerry Hopper of Falmouth, Monty Hopper of Dayton, Ronnie Hopper of Edgewood and Shelby Hopper of Newport; and nine grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Fort Thomas.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.
