'Steve' Snodgrass, dedicated to church
Ervin "Steve" Snodgrass Jr. was dedicated to his church.
He was a deacon and Sunday School director of Kento-Boo Baptist Church in Florence and volunteered to visit church members who were hospitalized.
"His desire was to serve the Lord to the best of his ability and to use the talents the Lord had given him to help others, " said his wife, Rose Lunsford Snodgrass.
"He was thoroughly involved in church activities. He was a member of the building committee and did all he could to help the church grow. He also used his artistic talents to decorate the church for each holiday."
Mr. Snodgrass, 56, of Elsmere, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence of complications from diabetes.
He was diagnosed with diabetes when he was in his early 30s and battled severe complications of diabetes over the past 10 years.
"He never lost his faith and was always in good spirits, " said Mrs. Snodgrass.
Mr. Snodgrass was a driver for Roadway Express for 25 years and was a member of Teamsters Union Local No. 100 of Cincinnati.
He was an Air Force veteran and was stationed in England two years.
Mr. Snodgrass enjoyed playing sports and was an ardent sports fan, especially interested in baseball and football.
Other survivors include a son, Jeff Snodgrass of Cumberland, Md.; a daughter, Peggy Straley of Erlanger; a sister, Sharon Milner of Dry Ridge; brothers, Wayne Snodgrass of Taylor Mill and Ronnie Snodgrass of Dry Ridge; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Kento-Boo Baptist Church in Florence.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Burial will be in Highland cemetery in Fort Mitchell.

Richard C. Alley, 80, of Dayton, died Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was a security guard with Children's Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary V. Alley; daughters, Cheryl Alley of Bellevue, Michelle Dziech of Florence, Debra Lussi of Verona, Pat Sellers of Sarasota, Fla., Carol Shields of Dayton and Judy Vollner of Cincinnati; sons, Jerry Alley of Highland Heights, Kenneth Alley of Dayton, Michael Alley of Silver Grove, Richard Alley of Ludlow and Michael Daughetee of Cincinnati; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Evergreen cemetery Chapel, Southgate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue. Maxim Thomas Crawford, 60, of Cynthiana, died Wednesday at University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center, Lexington. He was a part sales manager with Auto Zone and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include a daughter, Tania Crawford of Lexington; his mother, Anna Mae McGee of Cynthiana; his stepmother, Thelma Crawford of Cynthiana; and sisters, Peggy Crawford of Cynthiana and Candace Williams and Connie Withers, both of Lexington.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Cynthiana. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana. Della Thomas Eten, 82, of Grants Lick, died Monday at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary Church, Alexandria. Her husband, George Eten, died in 1994.
Survivors include sons, George "Bud" Eten III of Crestview Hills, Richard Eten of Lake Wales, Fla., Chester Eten of Hamilton, Ohio, Tom Eten and Larry Eten, both of Grants Lick, Gregory Eten of Dayton, and Paul Eten and John Eten, both of Alexandria; daughters, Georgeanne Nagel of Melbourne and Frances Marie Wilson of Cincinnati; a sister, Sister Virginia Marie Thomas of Versailles; 45 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial was this morning at St. Mary Church, Alexandria. Entombment will be in St. Stephen Mausoleum, Fort Thomas. Marie Free, 82, of Hebron, died at 7:56 p.m. Tuesday at Florence Park Care Center, Florence. She was a retired office manager with Dr. Howard Ravenscraft. Her husband, Richard James Free, died in 1988.
Survivors include sons, Alan J. Free of Cincinnati, Glen R. Free of Grapevine, Texas, and Mark R. Free of Erlanger; sisters, Laura Lamb of Latonia and Betty Roberts of Erlanger; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Helen G. Gunning, 91, of Latonia, died at 12:10 a.m. Thursday at Carmel Manor, Fort Thomas. She was a retired secretary of the Rosedale Federal Savings and Loan, a past president of the Boone-Kenton AARP chapter, and a member of St. Helen's Society of Holy Cross Church, Latonia. She was a former member of the Legion of Mary. Her husband, Robert Gunning, died in 1955.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Jeannine Nichols; a brother, Thomas J. Graham of Cincinnati; and a sister, E. Ruth Altenau of Cincinnati.

Verna Frances Jones, 89, of Berry, died Thursday at Harrison Memorial Hospital, Cynthiana. She was a retired cafeteria manager with Northside Elementary School, Cynthiana. Her husband, William A. Jones, died in 1977. A son, George A. Jones, died in 1986.
Survivors include two granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.

Albert Bernard Kremer, 85, of Newport, died Thursday at Northern Kentucky Care and Rehabilitation Center, Highland Heights. He was a machine repair leader with Ford Motor Co., Cincinnati, and a member of St. Therese Church, Southgate, Southgate Senior Citizens and Bell Acres Social Club, Newport. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Marcella Kremer, died in 1993.
Survivors include daughters, Diane Jackson of Newport and Sharon Testerman of Florence; a brother, William Kremer II of Highland heights; a sister, Matilda Staubach of Newport; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Therese Church, Southgate. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue. Lee Ann Lamb, 55, of Alexandria, died Thursday at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a retired school counselor with Campbell County Schools.
Survivors include her husband, William Lamb; sons, Jeff Lamb and Matt Lamb, both of Alexandria; her mother, Marilyn Harrington of Melbourne; and brothers, Mike Harrington of Fairfield, Ohio, and Pat Harrington of Melbourne.

Overton Charles Moloney, 84, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Bellevue, died Tuesday at his home. He was a pharmacist with the Kroger Co., Cincinnati, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, Tom Moloney of Huber Heights, Ohio; a daughter, Tammy Munson of Sarasota; stepdaughters, Kim Knanel and Cindy Sobojinski, both of Nicholasville; sisters, Barbara Aylor of Villa Hills and Sylvia Drew of Cape Coral, Fla.; three grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.

Sherry Ann Garrison Randall, 57, of Fort Mitchell, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a disabled nurse with Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Randall, and brothers and sisters.
Services will beat 2 p.m. today at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will begin there at noon. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.
Alberta Clark Smith, 98, of West Union, Ohio, formerly of Independence, died Wednesday at Adams County Hospital, West Union. She was a retired teacher and a member of Sunny Acres United Methodist Church, Taylor Mill. Her husband, Rudolph L. Smith, preceded her in death. Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence, is handling arrangements.
Ruth Smith, 75, of Ozark, Miss., formerly of Cynthiana, died Wednesday at her home. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Albert Smith; a daughter, Karen Baker of Springfield, Mo.; a brother, Fred Hornsby of Cynthiana; and a granddaughter.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana.
