Klett, Heather age 33, of White Bear Lake & formerly of Hudson died May 22.

Heather Lynn Klett, age 33 of White Bear Lake and formerly of Hudson died suddenly while helping with a garage sale in Lake St.Croix Beach, MN. Heather was born on April 26, l971 in St. Paul the daughter of Stephen and Karen (Schulz) Klett of Hudson. She attended grade school and High School in Hudson. She went on to College at St. Cloud and to Stout studying Interior Design and Psychology. She has been working as a law office assistant for the law firm of David R. Ludwigson Law Firm in White Bear Lake at the time of her death. Heather got a lot of friendship and value from her work. She was an unbelievable friend to both loved ones and strangers. Heather was most blessed and grateful to be given the honor to be a mother, a responsibility she took very seriously. She had a solid faith that she shared with many. She was a member of Woodland Hills Church in Maplewood where she did volunteering. Heather is survived by her parents Stephen Klett of Hudson mother Karen Klett of White Bear Lake, her daughter Kelsi of AZ, sister Stephanie (Phil) Mendel, brother Nathan Klett all of Madison, WI, and grandparents Lois & Fred Schulz of St.Paul and many aunts & uncles. Memorials preferred to the family which will later be dedicated to Kelsi’s Education Fund. An amazing spirit…one that is greatly loved and forever will be missed.

Funeral services for Heather Klett will be 11AM Friday May 28, 2004 at The Woodland Hills Church in Maplewood, MN (www.whchurch.org) Visitation will be from 5-8PM on Thursday May 27 at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI. and also one hour prior to the service at the church.

Thomas Becker age 61 of Roberts died Monday May 24, 2004 at his home.

Thomas Becker, age 61, of Roberts died Monday May 24, 2004 at his home. Thomas was born on June 11, 1942 in Hudson, Wisconsin; the son of Virgil and Florence (Williamson) Becker. He attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Grade school and Graduated from Hudson High School in the class of 1960. On September 26, 1964 Thomas was united in marriage to Carol Benedict at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in River Falls, WI. Their union was blessed with three sons, Dennis, David and Daniel. Thomas was employed with Nor-Lake as a Refrigeration Technician Supervisor and had also worked for 3M during his career. He was an active member of the Roberts Lion’s Club and had been a Volunteer Fireman for the Roberts-Warren Fire Department. Thomas remains in the heart of his wife Carol, his sons Dennis of Minneapolis, MN, David (Janie) of Roberts, and Daniel (Jodi) of Minneapolis, his grandchildren Zachary, Bryce and Nathan, his sister Nancy (Bill) Foley of Fulton, IL, and many relatives and friends. His was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Florence.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 AM on Thursday May 27, 2004 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Hammond, WI; Father Gerald Harris officiating. Burial will be in the Warren cemetery with casketbearers Tim Franklin, Harry Franklin, Fred Jourdeans, Bill Foster, Dan Helmueller, and Rust Cox. Honorary casketbearers: Leroy Dull, Jim Larson, Gary Croes, Bill Foley, and Dan Schwan. Visitation will be from 4:30 until 7:30 on Wednesday May 26, 2004 at the O’Connell Family Funeral of Hudson.

Bates, Linda age 78 of Hudson died June 8, 2004 in her residence.

Linda Lou Bates, age 78, of Hudson formerly of Baldwin, died June 8, 2004 in her residence. Linda was born May 25, 1926 the daughter of Ted and Rose Moline in Baldwin. She attended school in Baldwin and graduated from Baldwin-Woodville High School. Linda married Earl Bates on October 28, 1945 in Baldwin She had worked for 3M in the receiving department. She loved traveling and doing daycare. She was a member of United Methodist Church. Linda is lovingly survived by her husband, Earl; son, Earl G. “Pete” Bates of Hudson, daughters, Theodora (James) Stone of Hudson, Penelope (Bruce) Siegersma of Baldwin. Her grandchildren, William “BJ” (Shelby) Denzer, Nicholas Siegersma and Janna Stone. Also by her brother, Theodore G. (Violet) Moline of St. Peter, MN. Memorial service was held on Friday June 11 in the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, Hudson with the Rev. Dr. Laurence Goebel of United Methodist Church officiating. Services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, Hudson.

Richard "Dick" Haller age 60 of North Hudson died June 12, 2004 at Veterans Hospital.

Richard "Dick" Haller age 60 of North Hudson died June 12, 2004 at Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis.

Funeral Mass for Richard Haller will be 10AM Thursday June 17 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hudson. Burial will be Friday at Fort Snelling National cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Wednesday June 16 from 5-8PM at The O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. The O'Connell Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. 715-386-3725

Bertelsen, Jacob age 92 of Hammond died July 14.

Jacob ‘Jake’ Bertelsen age 92 of Hammond and formerly of North Hudson died Wednesday evening July 14, 2004 at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond. Jake was born on October 28, 1911 in the Country of Denmark. At the age of six, he and his family made the United States their home. He was raised attending school in St. Paul. Jake worked many years for the City of Hudson Water Department. He also owned the Overshoe Bar in Hudson for several years. On October 21, 1939, he was united in marriage to Hazel Hansen at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Paul. Jake enjoyed golfing, bowling, and fishing. Jacob is survived by his sister Betty of St. Paul and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Hazel.

Funeral service for Jake will be 11:00AM Saturday July 17, 2004 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Dennis Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Willow River cemetery in Hudson. Jake’s family will serve as casketbearers. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at O’Connell’s on Saturday.

Hirte, Bernard A. age 81 of Hudson, formerly of Lakeland.

Bernard “Bernie” Hirte age 81 of Hudson and formerly of Lakeland died Saturday morning July 17, 2004 at the Hudson Hospital emergency room. Bernie was born on March 26, 1923 in Lake City, MN; the son of Max and Anna (Vonderborne) Hirte. He grew up in Lake City and attended the local elementary school and graduated from Lake City High School. As a young man Bernie enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served in World War II. He was a decorated survivor of the Battle of the Bulge. He has since been a lifetime member of the Stillwater V.F.W. Post 323. Bernie was a proud employee for over 37 years at Andersen Window Corp, he was also a member of their Quarter Century Club. He was an avid hunter and a regular at the Hudson Golf Club. He is survived by Katherine Frattalone Hirte, daughters Becky (Patrick) Lott of Detroit, MI, Debbie (Dan) Asmus of Bayport; sons Terry (Ann) Hirte of Lakeland, Steve (Laurie) Hirte of Lakeland; grandchildren, Heather Betz, Nathan & Shelly Asmus, Brian Delisle; great grandchildren, Alex, Cameron, Jaeden, Joseph; sisters Marcella Sloper of East Bethel, MN, Delores Wilkinson of Wyoming, MN; brother Delbert (Pat) Hirte of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mae, and his son Jeffery.

Memorial service was Monday July 19, 2004 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson; Pastor Michael Briggs officiated and organist Mary Post provided music. Burial was in Lakeview cemetery in Lakeland, MN with full military honors provided by the Stillwater VFW. Visitation was from 10AM until the 12PM service at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, Hudson.

Ruth Solsvig, age 92, of Hudson died May 24, 2004 at Christian Community Home

Ruth Rebecca Guiswite Solsvig, age 92 of Hudson, formerly New Richmond passed away peacefully May 24, 2004 in Christian Community Home, Hudson. Ruth was born May 29, 1911 the daughter of Frank and Susie (Fisher) Guiswite in Bainville, MT. She was a 1929 graduate of Hudson High School. Ruth married Eldon F. Sosvig on September 3, 1932 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hudson. This marriage was blessed with 3 children, Janet Laatch Solsvig, George Eldon Solsvig and Valerie Solsvig who died at birth. Ruth was a hard worker and she an Eldon owned Solsvig Food Market in North Hudson for many years. She enjoyed reading romance novels, dogs and kittens, vacations, her grandchildren, horses and fishing with Eldon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eldon and her baby Valerie. Ruth is lovingly survived by her children, Janet(Roy) Laatsch Solsvig of Clearwater, FL., George (Patricia) Solsvig of New Richmond; her grandchildren, Marilyn (Chris) Laatch-Markham, Mark(Lisa) Laatch, Nancy (Jay) Laatch-Vandersam, David(Eileen) Laatch, Steve(Janet) Foster, Cindy Foster, Mick(Betsy) Foster, Tim Foster, Christine Solsvig, Susan Solsvig-Germain, Jenni(Luke) Solsvig-Seiler; her great grandchildren, Laura Markham, Mathew and Daniel Laatch, Christy Vandersam, Jacob laatch, Steve and Mandy Foster, Angel Maack, Archie Montpetit, Emmitt and Mitchell Foster, Marshall and Brenna Foster, Sharisse, Billie Jo and Heidi Germain, Logan and Lilly Seiler; great great grandchildren, Carter and Gabbey Maack. Sister, Merese(Robert) Millard of Sun City, FL.

Funeral Service will be 2 PM Sunday June 6 in the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, Hudson with the Pastor Tim Booth officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the 2 PM service. Burial was in the Willow River Cemetery. Services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, Hudson.
