Edith Malone, active in community groups

Edith Louise Ireland Malone was a joiner.

Mrs. Malone, who died Friday at Mount Washington Care Center in Cincinnati, was a member of the Martha Ross Chapter Daughters of America, the Young Grandmothers Club, the Forest Hill Homemakers and the Sunday Morning Club. She organized the first Kentucky Colonel's Club in 1962.

She was the oldest living member of First Christian Church in Covington, having joined March 21, 1921, when she was a teen-ager. She was a former deaconess and Sunday school teacher there.

She was a life member of the Kenton County Democratic Club, having served as its president for 12 years. She was voted the outstanding woman of Kenton County in 1980 by the Jaycees.

"Everybody said she was the life of the party, " said her son, George W. LaVerne Smith of Withamsville, Ohio. "She was always up doing silly things, organizing this and that, making decorations."

A retired seamstress with Schwartz Tailoring in Cincinnati, she was very talented with her hands. Even in the nursing home she would crochet shawls or blankets for the other residents, her son said.

Born in Cynthiana, she moved to Latonia and lived there most of her life. Her goal was to live to be 100 years old, but she fell short by two years.

Her husband, Joseph F. Malone, died in 1993. A son, Clifford Smith, died in 1982.

Other survivors include a daughter, Gretta Kincain of Florida; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Cincinnati, 4310 Cooper Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242; or the charity of the donor's choice.

Jennifer Goddard Beisker, 23, of Cynthiana, died Saturday at Harrison Memorial Hospital, Cynthiana.

She was a secretary with Farmers National Bank.

Survivors include her husband, Levi Michael Beisker; her father and stepmother, James H. and Geraldine S. Goddard of Charleston, S.C.; her mother and stepfather, Angela W. and Hughie Cole Jr. of Cynthiana; brothers, Joshua Goddard of Charleston; sisters, Tabitha Goddard Wolford of Delaware, Ohio, Felicia Bullard of Charleston and Anna Cole of Cynthiana; grandparents, Ruby Rush of Crawley, W.Va., and Todd and Lena Ward of Georgetown; step-grandparents, Dorothy and Everett Coen of Charleston and Judy and Wayne Horn of Cynthiana; and great-grandmother, Thelma Fox of Maplewood, W.Va.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana.

Elizabeth Haughey Roach Borland, 83, of Crescent Springs, died Friday at Villaspring Care Center, Erlanger.

She was a homemaker and a volunteer with St. Elizabeth Medical Centers and the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Survivors include a son, Steve Roach of Crescent Springs; sisters, Virginia Berry and Marge Burke, both of Marble Head, Mass.; and three grandchildren.

Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, Covington. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Cincinnati. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice. Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger, is handling arrangements.

Florence Brown, 85, of Cold Spring, died Friday at her home.

She was a retired cake decorator with Albers Bakery in Norwood, Ohio, and a member of Silver Grove Baptist Church.

Her husband, John Stanley Brown, died in 1957.

Survivors include a son, Dale Brown of California; daughters, Dorothy Brown and Karen DeMoss, both of Cold Spring, Linda Callen of Demosville, Faye Gann of Cincinnati and Francis Sharp of Loveland, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Northern Kentucky, 1403 Alexandria Pike, Fort Thomas, Ky. 41075.

Florence E. Bruns, 83, of Batavia, Ohio, formerly of Villa Hills, died at 3:45 p.m. Friday at Batavia Nursing and Convalescent Care.

She was a retired nurse, a member of Rosebud Chapter No. 39 Order of the Eastern Star and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include stepsons, George Bruns of Villa Hills and Greg Bruns of Erlanger; stepdaughters, Helen Hull of Dry Ridge, Dorothy Hummeldorf of Spain, Diane Campbell of Fort Thomas and Melissa Bruns of Villa Hills; a sister, Dolly Bosshammer of Louisiana; and grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Highland cemetery Chapel, Fort Mitchell. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Don Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Elsmere, is handling arrangements.

Andrew "Drew" Dahms, 35, of Villa Hills, died Saturday at his home.

He was a bartender with the Greyhound Grill, Fort Mitchell.

Survivors include his mother, Yvonne Dahms of Villa Hills; brothers, David Dahms of Morgantown, W.Va., Daniel Dahms and Michael Dahms, both of Florence, Gregory Dahms of Park Hills, Stephen Dahms of Independence, Nicholas Dahms of Crescent Springs and Kyle Dahms of Villa Hills; sisters, Lisa Hardtke of Edgewood and Elizabeth Dahms of Danville; and grandmother, Rita Bailey of Erlanger.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Diocesan Catholic Children's Home, P.O. Box 17007, Fort Mitchell, Ky. 41017.

Hettie Sears Gregory, 92, of Latonia, died at 2:42 p.m. Friday at Rosedale Manor, Latonia.

She was a retired teacher with Elsmere-Elsmere Elementary School and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Latonia, where she also taught Sunday school.

Her husband, Lloyd T. Gregory, died in 1987.

Survivors include a son, Lloyd Terrance Gregory of Hazard; a daughter, Ruth Elyse Gibson of Independence; a sister, Thelma Hamm of Somerset; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at noon Tuesday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Sylvia D. Hasank, 89, of Williamstown, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Grant County, Williamstown.

She was a retired employee of the Grant County IGA and McGregor Co., both of Williamstown, a homemaker and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church, also in Williamstown. She was a Sunday school and Bible school teacher with the church.

Her husband, Clyde Hasank, died in 1988.

Survivors include sons, Leon Hasank of Williamstown and William Hasank of Florence; a daughter, Nancy Hasank Wright of Florence; sisters, Lilly Wolfe of Villa Hills and Amanda "Peachy" Beagle of Cordova; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Patricia Hull, 54, of Covington, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington.

Arrangements are pending at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington.

Anna L. Kiskaden, 76, of Augusta, died Saturday at Augusta Health Care Center.

She was a retired nurses aide and a member of Mount Zion Methodist Church, Bracken County.

Survivors include sons, Gary Ashcraft and Mark Kiskaden, both of Augusta; daughters, Regina Perkins of Augusta and Elaine Combess of Brooksville; a brother, Earl Scott of Augusta; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Zion Cemetery, Bracken County. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, 1 W. McDonald Parkway, Maysville, Ky. 41056; or the charity of the donor's choice.

David Joseph Klare, 66, of Villa Hills, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

He was a retired bottler with Wiedemann Brewery, Newport.

Survivors include a brother, James Klare of Villa Hills, nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

James Little Jr., 66, of Latonia, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington.

He was a retired brakeman with C&O; Railroad.

Survivors include his wife, Julie Reynolds Little; sons, James Grant Little and Brian Kenzie Little, both of Covington; a daughter, Lorena Kirk of Cincinnati; a brother, John Little of Covington; sisters, Joyce Jones of Wilder and Mary Penick of Covington; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014.

Betty Jean Hewitt Renschler, 73, of Carrollton, died Saturday at Baptist Hospital East, Louisville.

She was a homemaker and storekeeper, and a member of St. John Church, Carrollton.

Survivors include her husband, Alfred William Renschler; sons, Dennis Eugene Renschler of Louisville, David Lee Renschler of Carrollton, Gary William Renschler of Vancouver, Wash., and John Kevin Renschler of Carrollton and Louisville; a brother, Chester Sievers Hewitt of Panama City, Fla.; a sister, Dorothy Lee Beckham of Hallandale Beach, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. John Church, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, Carrollton. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Carrollton. Memorials are suggested to International Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia Foundation, in care of Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, Ky. 41008.

Leah Gabrielle Roark, 8 months, the daughter of Anthony Allen and Mary Ann Funke Roark of Independence, died Thursday at an Independence residence.

Other survivors include a brother, Michael Anthony Roark of Independence; sisters, Courtney Ann Roark and Alexandra Michelle Roark, both of Independence; grandparents, Bill and Rita Funke of Demossville and Jetty and JaNeane Roark of Corbin; and great-grandparents, Artie Roark of Corbin, Dwayne and Barbara Prose of Oregon, and Dorothy Funke of Edgewood.

Services will be at 8:30 tonight at St. Cecilia Church, Independence. Visitation will begin there at 5 p.m., and will also be from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at O'Neil Funeral Home, Corbin. Burial will be in Roark Family Cemetery, Corbin. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of any Bank of Kentucky branch.

Margaret M. Harber Seiter, 69, of Highland Heights, died at 2:05 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

She was a receptionist with Hyde Park Clothes, Newport, and a member of First Christian Church of Fort Thomas.

Her husband, Eugene F. Seiter, died in 1985.

Survivors include sons, Tim Harber of Arlington, Texas, and Doug Harber of Highland Heights; sisters, France Dowell of Covington and Nancy Gemmer of Latonia; brothers, James Booth of Butler, Avery Morgan of Latonia, Elgen S. Morgan of Ludlow and Wilburn Morgan of Brownsville, Texas; and a grandson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church, 1031 Alexandria Pike, Fort Thomas, Ky. 41075.

Robert Seng, 82, of Crescent Springs, died Thursday at his home.

He was an electronic technician. Sons, William Kent, John Henry Seng, Ronald Seng, Danny Seng and Robert Seng, all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Seng; daughters, Joan Bloomfield of Orlando, Fla., Jeanette Eilers of Chicago, Bernetta Zimmerman of Burlington and Paula Seng of Crescent Springs; sons, Jimmy Kent of Denver and Gerald Seng of Florence; a sister, Alberta Vaught of Taylor Mill; and brothers, Elmer Seng of Walton and Roy Seng of Fort Mitchell.

Services will be at noon Wednesday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Donald F. Tangney, 68, of Erlanger, died Thursday at his home.

He was the greenskeeper with Kenton County Golf Course and a Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Rekers Tangney; daughters, Nancy Bahr of Independence, Denise Stemen of LaGrange and Cindy Shull of Cincinnati; a son, Duane Tangney of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will begin there at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Brenda Kay Vickers of Silver Grove died Friday at Drake Hospital, Cincinnati.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Danny Vickers; sons, Charley Carroll of London and Keith Vickers of Silver Grove; his father, James Carroll of Wolfe County; a sister, Rosemary Trent of Wolfe County; brothers, Bob Carroll of Ryland Heights, Billy Carroll of Taylor Mill, and Jim Trent, Albert Trent, Marty Trent, Dallas Trent, Danny Paul Trent and Scottie Trent, all of Wolfe County; and three grandchildren.

Services were this morning at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick. Burial was in Peach Grove Cemetery.

Emma Wingbermuhlen, 88, of Covington, died Sunday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport.

Arrangements are pending at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington.

John Yunker, 60, Walton, died Saturday in Destin, Fla.

Arrangements are pending at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger.
