Richard Seeger, 81, community minded
Richard "Dick" Seeger of Villa Hills was a retired meat cutter and father of seven with an impressive history of community service that included stints on the Bellevue City Council and the Villa Hills Board of Adjustment.
"He was very involved in the community, " said his wife, Evelyn Frost Seeger. "He liked people, and he liked to help them out."
Mr. Seeger died Monday at Carmel Manor in Fort Thomas. He was 81.
A decorated World War II veteran, Mr. Seeger participated in the D-Day invasion.
He was a meat cutter at Keller's IGA in Clifton for about 35 years, retiring in 1983.
Mr. Seeger was a Bellevue City Councilman from 1958 to 1972 -- and vice mayor two years during that stretch.
He was a board member of the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments in the 1960s and 1970s.
He also was a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Bellevue Vets, the Bishop Mulloy Council Knights of Columbus, the Villa Hills Civic Club and the Happy Timers at St. Joseph Church in Crescent Springs.
"He was a quiet, thoughtful man, but he had a funny sense of humor, " said Mrs. Seeger.
"Even up to the last, he was always making one-liners with the nurses."
In addition to his wife, Mr. Seeger is survived by daughters, Chris Haddad of Finneytown, Ohio, Judy Beenken of Cincinnati, Fran Mando of Villa Hills; sons, Ric Seeger of Newport, Tom Seeger of Alexandria, Dave Seeger of Union and Jeff Seeger of Villa Hills; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs.
Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.

Albert R. Bishop, 60, of Newport, died at 8:58 p.m. Sunday at his home. A son, Troy Bishop, died in 1999.
Survivors include his wife, Billy Rogg Bishop; brothers, Frank Bishop of Pendleton County and Jack Bishop of Florence; sisters, Nancy Vogel of Taylor Mill and Marion Bishop of Pendleton County; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Don Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
Florence E. Bruns, 83, of Batavia, Ohio, formerly of Villa Hills, died at 3:45 p.m. Friday at Batavia Nursing and Convalescent Care. She was a retired nurse, a member of Rosebud Chapter No. 39 Order of the Eastern Star and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include stepsons, George Bruns of Villa Hills and Greg Bruns of Erlanger; stepdaughters, Helen Hull of Dry Ridge, Dorothy Hummeldorf of Spain, Diane Campbell of Fort Thomas and Melissa Bruns of Villa Hills; sisters, Dolly Bosshammer of Louisiana and Rita Freiermuth of Erlanger; and grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Highland cemetery Chapel, Fort Mitchell. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Don Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Elsmere, is handling arrangements.
Zackary Edward Hayes, 7 months, the son of Amanda Gordy and Christopher Hayes of Dry Ridge, was found dead Saturday at his home.
Other survivors include a brother, Christopher Hayes of Dry Ridge, and grandfather, Edwin Clark of Sardinia, Ohio.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
John L. "Jack" Hub, 78, of Highland Heights, died Saturday at his home. He was a retired printer with The Cincinnati Post and a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ in Fort Thomas and Asbury Methodist Seniors. His wife, Edna Miller Hub, died in 1995.
Survivors include a daughter, Jessie Hub Riffe of Highland Heights; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ Church United Church of Christ, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Patricia Ann Stanley Hall, 54, of Covington, died at 11:50 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was an administrative assistant with Fresh-n-Ready Food Inc., Covington.
Survivors include her husband, James Daniel Hull; a stepdaughter, Carole Sandifeer of Longview, Texas; a stepson, James Daniel Hull II of Denver; her mother, Doris Doughtery Stanley of Dallas; sisters, Lynn Patton of Rochester, Ind., and Sherry Stanley of Dallas; and a grandson.
Memorial services will be at the convenience of the family. Cremation will be at Southwest Ohio Crematory, Milford, Ohio. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
Paul Dennis LaBare Sr., 70, of Erlanger, died Saturday at his home. He was a former employee of the Erlanger Police Department, and an Erlanger police court judge from 1970-77. He also was a retired engineer with CSX Railroad, a member of Erlanger United Methodist Church and a Korean War veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Robinson LaBare; sons, Paul Dennis LaBare Jr. of Union and Jack LaBare of Dry Ridge; a daughter, Tonia Rhodes of Walton; a brother, Robert E. LaBare of Dry Ridge; sisters, Norma Crosthwaite of Crescent Springs and Mary Egan of Crittenden; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Inez Christine Bierley Myers, 80, of Maysville, died Sunday at her home. She was a greeter with Wal-Mart, a former show factory worker and operated a fabric business from her home. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Maysville, and a volunteer with Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville. Daughters, Judith Myers and Joyce Brown, both preceded him in death.
Survivors include her husband, William Eugene Myers; daughters, Diana Graves of Maysville and Yvonne Cracraft of Mays Lick; a son, Bill Myers of Georgetown; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

Justin Allan Saccone, 15, of Cold Spring, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
He was a sophomore at Campbell County High School, and a member of Future Farmers of America and the Newport Elks baseball team in the Campbell County Knothole League.
Survivors include his parents, Rocke and Tammy Ingram Saccone; brothers, Jeremy Saccone and Anthony Saccone, both of Cold Spring; grandparents, Rocke and Ruth Saccone of Crestview, and Georgia Ingram of Alexandria; and great-grandmother, Bertha Braun of Fort Thomas.

James C. Storer, 62, of Round Lake Beach, Ill., formerly of Crestview, died at 1:40 p.m. Saturday at Condell Hospital in Round Lake Beach.
Survivors include his father, Edward Storer of Crestview, and a sister, Pamela Storer of Mason, Ohio.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.
Mary Lou Finn Stubbeman, 66, of Crescent Springs, died at 2 p.m. Monday at her home. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs, and a tutor with Literacy in Northern Kentucky. She was a retired secretary with Proctor & Gamble, Cincinnati, and the Kenton County commonwealth attorney's office. Her husband, Dennis Patrick Finn, died in 1994.
Survivors include a son, Dan Finn of Cincinnati; daughters, Shelly Voet of Crescent Springs and Amy Finn of Charlotte, N.C.; and five grandchildren.

Mildred Wall, 80, of Florence, died Saturday at Woodcrest Manor, Elsmere. She was a homemaker and a member of Florence Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Noel Wall; a daughter, Sharon Dameron of Burlington; a sister, Irene Herrin of Somerset; and two grandchildren.

Doris Hunt Wallace, 74, of Park Hills, died Saturday at O'Fallon Health Care Center, O'Fallon, Ill.

Emma H. Wilke Wingbermuhlen, 88, of Covington, died at 8:47 a.m. Sunday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. She was a customer service clerk with Pogues department stores.
Her husband, John Wingbermuhlen, died in 1989.
Survivors include nieces, Bev Peterson of Burlington and Pat Elster of Covington.
