Howard T. Turm, 83, worked 44 years at 3M
When Howard Thomas Sturm found things he enjoyed, he stuck with them.
So, he spent 44 years at 3M in Cincinnati, the only job he had as an adult. He started as a warehouse supervisor and then moved to the office, retiring as an assistant manager.
So, he served some 25 years as a member of the vestry at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Newport.
So, he and his wife, Jean Morris Sturm, took nine trips to Disneyworld, several of them without children.
"The first trip was a band trip when our son was at Highlands (High School), " said Mrs. Sturm. "We liked it so much we just kept going back. One year our sons each gave us a trip to Disneyworld."
Mr. Sturm, of Fort Thomas, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was 83.
He was a past president of the Highlands High School Band Association and a member of the Fort Thomas Retired Men's Club and the 3M Club.
When he and his wife weren't traveling -- they also went to England, Paris and Bermuda, among other destinations -- he enjoyed gardening and working on his yard.
"He was a very nice person, likable, a good man, " Mrs. Sturm said. "We'll miss him."
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Bradley Sturm of Columbus, Ohio, and Dr. Randall Sturm of Flint, Mich.; a sister, Vera Ferring of Bellevue; a brother, Orville Sturm of Newport; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Christ Church Cathedral, Cincinnati. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to Christ Church Cathedral, 318 E. Fourth St., Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, is handling arrangements.
Mary E. Cassidy Arnold, 94, of Cynthiana, died Sunday at her home. She was a homemaker, a farmer and businesswoman, and a member of Cynthiana Christian Church. She taught a women's Bible class at the church, and established the A.T. Arnold Scholarship Fund. Her husband, A.T. Arnold, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a brother, Jonathan Cassidy of Oceanside, Calif., nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana. Arthur McKeel Bagwell Jr., 87, of Florence, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a purchasing agent with local hospitals, including Booth Hospital in Florence, and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Attala Bagwell; sons, Arthur M. Bagwell II of Williamstown and E. Stewart Bagwell of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Anne Courtney of Union; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Visitation will begin there at noon Thursday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.
Lois C. Boehm, 87, of Union, died Tuesday at her home. She was a records clerk with Cincinnati Bell Telephone and a member of Telephone Pioneers and St. Barbara Church, Erlanger. She was a member of the St. Barbara Caring and Sharing Seniors.
Survivors include a son, Robert Boehm of Union; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Ollie Mae Bowling, 77, of Butler, died Monday at her home. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Jepp Bowling; daughters, Donna Hounshell, Linda Anderson and Phyllis Nieman, all of Alexandria, and Judy Baker of Butler; sons, Donald Ray Bowling, Paul Bowling and Bobby Bowling, all of Butler; sisters, Deltha Turner of Butler, Nancy Combs of Newport, Georgia Deaton of Franklin, Ohio, and Martha Herald of Wilder; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Ronnie Cobb, 41, of Alexandria, died Monday at University Hospital, Cincinnati, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

He was a truck driver with Butternut Bakery, a member of the Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of Grants Lick Baptist Church, the Kentucky Bikers Association, Country Cruisers Car Club, Creekside Social Riders Club of California.
Survivors include his wife, Shelly Cobb; his parents, Roger and Mary Lou Cobb of Alexandria; brothers, Randy Cobb and Rodney Cobb, both of Alexandria; and a sister, Rhonda Wright of Grants Lick.

Patricia Ann Garrison, 56, of Butler, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a retired employee of Butler Restaurant and a member of Grants Lick Baptist Church. Her husband, Steve Garrison, died in 1998.
Survivors include a daughter, Leslie Garrison of Butler; sons, David Garrison of Independence, Mark Garrison of Erlanger James Garrison and Todd Garrison, both of Butler; and a sister, Linda Martinelli of Edgewood.

Ira G. Neal, 70, of Dry Ridge, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was an employee of General Motors, a Navy veteran and a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Neal; sons, Gary Neal of Union and Matt Neal of Walton; daughters, Brenda Neal of Newport, Tracey Burns of Hebron and Michelle Neal of Dry Ridge; and four grandchildren.

Joseph Donald Tilley, 70, of Carrollton, died Monday at Baptist Hospital Northeast, LaGrange. He was a retired electrical construction worker with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local No. 369, Louisville, and a member of First Christian Church, Pompano Beach, Fla. He was a member of Carroll County Ambulance Service, a scoutmaster with Cub Scout Pack No. 418 and Boy Scout Troop No. 466, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Popp Tilley; a son, Joseph Douglas Tilley of Laurens, S.C.; his mother, Pauline Kopp Tilley Blankenship of LaGrange; sisters, Doris Fox and Ruthaleen Suter, both of Pompano Beach, Fla., Mary Frances Mefford of Carrollton, Phyllis Perry of Hendersonville, N.C., and Carolyn Welch of Lighthouse Point, Fla.; and a brother, Frank Tilley of Carrollton.

Clarence Washington, 83, of Covington, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. He was an engineer with the City of Covington.

Emma Mason Williams, 84, of Cynthiana, died Monday at her home. She was a retired employee of 3M Co., and a member of Leesburg Methodist Church, Cynthiana. Her husband, George H. Williams, preceded her in death.
