Bleeker, William of Baldwin died March 1st.
William (Bill) Bleeker age 92 of Baldwin died Tuesday March 1st, 2005 at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Bill was born on September 6, 1912 in Castlewood, South Dakota; the son of Neil and Minnie (Meyers) Bleeker. He was raised in a large family on a farm near Castlewood. On September 14, 1936, he was united in marriage to Hazel Rindels in Castlewood, S. D. They were married
for 68 years. They were blessed with five children. Bill was a dairy farmer for most of his life. He appreciated the beauty of outdoors and liked to hunt and fish. In later years he loved to watch and feed the birds. He enjoyed making macrame’ projects, reading and listening to music. Bill is survived by his wife Hazel, children Audrey Kanis and husband Wayne of Woodbury, MN., Verl Bleeker and wife Vicky of West Olive, MI., Char Vier and husband Bob of Hastings, MN., Carol Warren and husband Scott of Stillwater MN., Donald Bleeker of St. Paul MN., thirteen grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren; sister Eleanor Tekrony and husband Albert of Long Beach, CA., brothers Ralph Bleeker and wife Jackie of Lake Elsinor, CA., Edward Bleeker and wife Audrey of Shellsburg, IA., and Ray Bleeker and wife Berdene of Pipestone, MN. Bill joins his parents, Neil and Minnie Bleeker, sister Florence Kallemyn, brothers Bernard Bleeker, Vern Bleeker, Eldon (Bud) Bleeker and Richard Bleeker in God’s glorious heavenly home.
Funeral service for William Bleeker was held at 1:30PM on Saturday March 5th, 2005 at the Christian Reformed Church in Baldwin, WI. with Pastor Bryce Mensink officiating. Organist Rachel VanSomeran, special music by Kara Vier and Scott Warren. Burial was held at the Baldwin cemetery with casketbearers being Lynn Kanis, Chase Bleeker, Jay Vier, Stephen Hop, Chad Bleeker and David NyKamp. O’Connell Funeral Home made the arrangements.
Janice Lindholm, age 77, of Hammond died Thursday morning September 16, 2004
Janice L. Lindholm, age 77 of Hammond died Thursday September 16, 2004 at the American Heritage Care Center. Janice was born on April 15, 1927 in Bruce, Wisconsin; the daughter of Elmer and Alma (Eveland) Hamilton. Janice grew up in a family of six children. She attended school in the Bruce school system. In high school she met the man who would later become her husband, Robert Lindholm. Janice attended two years of college in Superior, WI; she was studying to be a math teacher. When it became financially difficult for Janice to continue her college education she worked for a short time as a telephone operator in Lady Smith, WI. On August 22, 1948, Janice was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Robert Lindholm. The young couple moved to Madison and later Eau Claire as Robert continued his college education. Soon, Janice became a mother of three children; Bruce, Randall, and Pamela. When the children were old enough to attend school, Janice went back to school herself. She attended the University Of Wisconsin River Falls for several years and later earned a masters degree in Speech and Language Therapy. She was able to share her education for 19 years at the Greenfield Elementary School in Baldwin. Janice and her family spent many memorable summers at their camper trailer in the Cumberland area. They also traveled throughout much of the United States. Janice loved to read and also was very talented at painting wood crafts. She and Robert created many wood crafts together that have become cherished gifts for friends and relatives. Janice is lovingly remembered by her husband Robert; their children Bruce (Patricia) Lindholm of East Lyme, Connecticut, Randall Lindholm of Seattle, WA, and Pamela Zeman of Green Bay, WI; her grandchildren Heath (Cheryl) Lindholm of Connecticut, Heather Lindholm of Connecticut, and Gregory Kamm serving in the Marines; her great granddaughter Nicole Lindholm; her brother Gordon (Florence) Hamilton of New Ulm, MN; and several nieces and nephews. Janice is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Alma, one brother, and three sisters.
A celebration of Janice’s life took place at 11 AM on Monday September 20, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hammond. Pastor Dennis Nelson officiated and organist Mary Cody provided music. Burial was in the Hammond cemetery with Otto Schoeneck, Jim Vought, Steve Peterson, Vince Tubman, Bill Bibeau, and Jerry Conley serving as casketbearers. A visitation was held from 5 until 8 PM on Sunday September 19, 2004 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin and one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin.
Seidling, Carol age 70 of Stillwater passed away peacefully September 23, 2004 at
Carol Elaine Seidling age 70 of Stillwater passed away peacefully on Thursday September 23rd at the Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, MN. Carol was born on November 11, 1933 in Stanley, Wisconsin; the daughter of Charles and Dorcas (McCafferty) Schuebel. She grew up in the Stanley area and graduated from the Stanley High School. Carol was the mother of 6 children. She worked for several years as a cook for the St. Peter's School in North St. Paul. She is survived by her children, Diane (Richard) Krueger, Lisa (Craig) Johnson, Janet Nelson, Gary (Audrey) Seidling, Allan (Sue) Seidling, and Pat (Deb) Seidling; 22 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; several brothers and sisters; many nieces and nephews; and her former spouse Clarence Seilding. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Marcus VanLoenen age 18 of Hudson died Wednesday, November 24, 2004.
Marcus Gustav Van Loenen age 18 of Hudson died Wednesday November 24, 2004 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Marcus was born on February 6th, 1986 in Shakopee, Minnesota; the son of Darrell and Barbara (Gleiter) Van Loenen. He attended E.P. Rock Elementary School and was a 2004 graduate of the Hudson High School. Marcus was currently a freshman at the University of Minnesota. He enjoyed watching sports, the visual and performing arts, and was an avid reader who loved any type of academic challenge. Marcus was a member of the high school quiz bowl team, played trumpet in the high school band and the Winds of Joy group at First Presbyterian Church in Hudson of which he was a member. Some of his greatest memories were his hiking and camping trips with his family and the times spent with the band he and his high school buddies put together. Marcus is lovingly remembered by his parents Darrell and Barbara, sister Sarah of Hudson, brother Christopher of Worcester, MA., maternal grandparents Gustav and Shirley Gleiter of Monticello, MN., many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents William and Margaret Van Loenen.
Funeral service for Marcus will be 2:00PM Monday November 29, 2004 at the First Presbyterian Church in Hudson with Pastor David Liddle officiating. Organist Jody Branson will accompany congregational singing. Burial will be in the Willow River cemetery with casketbearers being Jeff Neuman, Jade Wagman, Robert Wagman, Lane Gleiter, and Curtis Gleiter. Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 5 until 7Pm at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson and one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Memorials are preferred. Mabel Vichorek, age 92 of Lake St. Croix Beach died November 25, 2004 in her residence.
Mabel Loretta Vichorek age 92 of St. Mary's Point, Minnesota died early Thursday Thanksgiving November 25, 2004 at her residence. Mabel was born on June 6, 1912 in Mankato, Minnesota; the daughter of George W. and Marie (Mayer) Huntley. She was raised and attended school in Mankato. As a young lady, she was united in marriage to Lewis Patrick Bartels. Following a short time together, Lewis would precede her in death. She would later marry Isadore “Chic” Vichorek. They lived in Minneapolis for some time prior to moving to St. Mary’s Point in 1965. Isadore too, would precede her in death. Mabel was a dedicated homemaker who loved to tend to her family. She did however, work for a short time as a waitress in Kasota, Minnesota and Fanny Farmer Candy in the Twin Cities earlier in life. She relished all the tasks of being a mom. She sewed clothes, had a great garden in which she canned her goodies, and was even the family barber. She loved people. She cherished family and friends over a cup of coffee or passing her cooking and crocheting traditions down to her grandchildren. To her grandchildren she was a momma bear; tough when needed but was always there for a supportive hug! It gave her great pleasure in planning and coordinating her family get togethers. She also enjoyed the challenge of a good crossword puzzle or the chance of a close bingo game. She is Survived by Daughters, Kathy (David) Kittel, Bonnie (Bob) Richardson, son Don (Barb) Bartels, sister Marcella Hake, grandchildren: Wendy (Rich) Jenkins, Warren Eastwood, Donna (Jim) Puckett, Cheryl (Steve) Miller, Nancy (Bob) Harris, Diane (Eddie) Bottoms, Mary Jo (Ron) Doty, Patrick (Amy) Richardson, Kenneth Bartels, Luanne (Dave) Bock, Karla (Vernon) Kimball, Renee (Tom) Wheeler, Vicki (Jeff) Schweiberger, and many great, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her Husbands, Isadore (Chic) Vichorek & Lewis Patrick Bartels; son, Lewis George Bartels; two grandsons, Kevin Jon & Brian Kevin Bartels; two brothers, Gerald Huntley and George Huntley and sister, Eleanor Brooks.
Mass of Christian Burial will be/was 2PM Saturday November 27th at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Afton. Father Jerome Kaiser celebrating the mass. Louis Zezza, age 85 of Hudson, died November 21, 2004 at the Hudson Hospital.
Louis (Louie) Domonic Zezza, age 85 died Sunday November 21, 2004. Louis (Louie) Domonic Zezza was born May 22, 1919 to first generation Italian immigrants, Joseph Zezza and Antonia (Scuillo) Zezza, in North Hudson, Wisconsin. He was the eighth of eleven children. He attended North Hudson Elementary and St. Patrick’s Catholic Schools. He then joined the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) until 1939 when he enlisted in the National Guard in Hudson. The Hudson Guard was activated in 1940 and sent to Camp Beauregard and then to Camp Livingston, both in Louisiana. Following Pearl Harbor his company was sent to Australia, the jungles of New Guinea and the Philippines. His duty ended in July of 1945. While stationed at Fort Devons in 1942, he wed Elizabeth Marie Scuillo in Ayer, Massachusetts. He was part of the Company C, 107th Quartermaster Regiment, 32nd Infantry Division. Upon arriving back home, after the war, he took employment with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for the next 34 years. His career began as a locomotive fireman, ultimately advancing to locomotive engineer. Many times during his railroad career he was fortunate enough to operate the famous “400” passenger train that regularly exceeded 100 mph between the Twin Cities and Chicago. Those “400” runs were the most memorable of his railroad career. Louis and Elizabeth had two children; a son David (Lois) Zezza and a daughter LuAnne (Andrew) Mayer, both of Hudson; five grandchildren, step grandchild Kimberly (Frank) Gaglio, Anthony (Kristi) Mayer, Angela (Randy) Huppert, Eugenio Zezza, and Adam Mayer; great grandson Rocco Domonic Huppert and step great grandchildren, Michael Angelo, Mariah Nina, and Mateo Ross Gaglio. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, an officer and active member of the Company C, served as health officer of the Village of North Hudson and was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Louis was a passionate gardener. One of his gardening passions included growing, canning and eating hot peppers. He loved to share with family and friends the fruits and vegetables that he grew. His magnificent flower gardens were a treasure to the neighborhood and all who would visit him. His other interests included woodworking, the Packers and Twins, collecting stamps and bird watching (especially the big crow he named King Farouk!). Surviving are his wife, his two children, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, and his sisters Anna (Gordon) McCunn and Laura (Joseph) Lee. Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers Daniel (Margaret), Anthony (Marguerite), Joseph (Jeanette), Lawrence (Ellen), and Thomas (Eleanor) Zezza; his sisters Lucille (Charles) Bonnes, Mary (Leonard) Sorenson, and Madeline (Frank) Garavalia.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:00 AM, November 24 at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson, with Father Jim Dabruzzi officiating. Barbara Smrdel was the organist and accompanied vocalists Brian Smrdel and Debbie O’Keefe. Burial was in St. Patrick’s cemetery in Hudson where military honors were given by Hudson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2115. Pallbearers were Jack Zezza, Nevin Zezza, Joseph Lee, Patrick Zezza, Michael Zezza, and Bill Cunningham. Memorials are preferred to the Carmelite Monastery. Sylvia Harwell age 87 of Hudson died Wednesday November 24, 2004 at Christian Community Home.
Sylvia Harwell age 87 of Hudson died Wed. Nov. 24, 2004 at the Christian Community Home surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 4, 1917 in Trimbelle Township, the daughter of Godfrey & Helena (Denzer) Kullmann. She was raised in rural Prescott & attended school at St. Joseph Catholic School. On Sept. 27, 1939 she was married
to Joseph Harwell. The couple lived and raised their children in Hudson. She worked at the Hudson Convalescent Home for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, fishing, trips to their cabin, spending time with her family, & wintering in the southern states. Surviving are her husband, Joseph, 3 sons, Henry (Barbara) of Hastings, MN, Richard of Maplewood, MN, Fredrick (Deborah) of Hudson, 7 grandchildren, & 6 great-grandchildren. Also brothers, Oliver of St. Paul, MN, John (Liz) of Prescott, Anthony of Danbury, Rufus (Delores) of Cottage Grove, MN, & Duane (Margaret) of Prescott. Preceding her in death were her parents, sister & brother-in-law, Mildred (Clarence) Diess, daughter-in-law, Eloise Harwell, & grandson Brad.

Affolter, Tanya age 29 of Woodville died November 24.
Tanya Lynn Affolter age 29 of Woodville and formerly of Hudson died Wednesday November 24, 2004 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Rochester following an extended illness. Tanya was born on July 6, 1975 at St. John’s Hospital in St. Paul; the daughter of Daniel Glen Sr. and Cindy Lynn (Boogren) Affolter. She was raised in Hudson attending E.P. Rock Elementary School. She and her family moved to Baldwin where she graduated from Baldwin High School in the class of 1993. During this time, he worked for such companies as Freedom, Hardees, and McMillan’s. Following this, she attended WITC in New Richmond for legal secretary. On November 24, 1994 (ten years to the date before Tanya’s passing), the Affolter family suffered the loss of their husband and Dad; Daniel Sr. to cancer. Tanya’s focus on life changed to one of care giver. Helping her family through their loss, she decided she wanted to become a nurse. She received her Certified Nurse’s Assistant and Technician Medical Assistant degrees from Minnesota Technical College in Red Wing. She truly loved her job over the past several years at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond. She loved helping the residents who become part of her family and cherished the friendships of coworkers she formed. Her greatest joy in life came seven years ago when she became a mom with the birth of her son Brandon and three years later McKenzie. She treasured time spent with her children; whether playing or cooking with them, showing them how to garden, attending their schooling programs, or 4-H events. Tanya will always remain in the hearts of her children Brandon and McKenzie, mother Cindy and her husband Roger Frye of Baldwin, brothers Daniel Affolter of Colfax, Joseph Affolter of Baldwin, nephew and niece Daniel III and Elizabeth Affolter, Grandmother Lorraine Affolter of Baldwin, aunts and uncles Dale and Deb Affolter of Baldwin, Jeannie and Dan VanBeek of Baldwin, Judy and Jerry Carr of Baldwin, Gary and Sonja Affolter of Hudson, Marlys Stribling of River Falls, Jim Boogren of St. Paul, Bev Boogren of St. Paul, step brother Doug Frye of Spring Valley, step sister Vonda Frye of California, as well as many cousins. She joins her Dad, maternal grandparents Harold and Fern Boogren and paternal grandfather Emil Affolter in the company of God.
A Celebration of Tanya’s life will be 1PM Tuesday November 30th at Peace Lutheran Church in Baldwin with Pastor John Hanson officiating. Burial will be in the Germantown Settlement cemetery in Troy Township; rural Hudson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Peace Lutheran on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred and will be designated for the care and schooling of her children. The family is with great gratitude for all the support and prayers of the community over the past several months as she battled her cancer. Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Homes.
