Carol Druck, owned Latonia beauty salon
Thirty-two years ago, Carol Druck cut a friend's hair just in time for her wedding.
Two years ago, she cut the hair of her friend's daughter -- just in time for her wedding.
"She was one of those hairdressers you knew would be there no matter what, " said a friend, Larry Barr of Covington. "Everyone in the Covington area knew her."
Mrs. Druck, 56, of Latonia, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth North Medical Center in Covington.
She had been a hairdresser for 35 years and operated Carol's Family Hairstyling on Madison Avenue by herself.
She was also known for her generosity, said Margaret Lawhead of Covington, another of Mrs. Druck's friends. "If somebody needed a meal, she wouldn't give them the money, but she would send them over to (a restaurant) and pay for their meal, " Mrs. Lawhead said.
Another time, Mrs. Druck lent her money to make a move, Mrs. Lawhead said. "She was just so nice to me."
Mrs. Druck was also active in her church, Community Pentecostal of Independence, where she was an usher and bought toys for children at Christmas.
She is survived by her husband, Roger.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Community Pentecostal Church in Independence.
Donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Marvin Keith Bowman, 51, of Valdosta, Ga., formerly of Mount Olivet, died Saturday at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. He was a mechanic.
Survivors include sons, Marvin Bowman Jr. and Thomas Bowman, both of New Hampshire; daughters, Wendy Bowman, Ruby Lane and Kelly Wilson, all of New Hampshire; his parents, Betty Jean Perky and Robert C. Clements; brothers, Robert S. Clements of Edgewood, James C. Clements of Cincinnati, Walter E. Clements of Mount Olivet and Jeffrey A. Clements of Lexington; sisters, Linda Jones of Florida, Sandy Gillespie of Villa Hills, Janet LaCount of Phoenix and Sylvia Moore of Warner Robbins, Ga.; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Robertson County Funeral Home, Mount Olivet. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Mount Olivet Methodist Church, Main Street, Mount Olivet, Ky. 41064.
Eleanor Amy Case, 81, of Maysville, died at 2 a.m. Monday at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was a housekeeper. A son, Ronald N. Pratt, died May 7.
Survivors include sons, Robert R. Pratt of Oklahoma City, Gary K. Pratt of Cocoa, Fla., and Grover D. Pratt of Mount Olivet; daughters, Pamela L. Pratt of Maysville, Janet M. Fontenot of Richmond, Carolyn G. Pratt of Mount Olivet, Willa J. Pratt of Palm Bay, Fla., and Valetta K. Pratt of Mancos, Colo.; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mays Lick Lighthouse Church. Burial will be in Piqua Cemetery. Brell and Son Funeral Home, Maysville, is handling arrangements.
Mariam A. Dessauer, 62, of Florence, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a retired medical transcriptionist.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Dessauer of Florence; sons, John Wells of Delhi, Ohio, and Duncan McDanold of Florence; daughters, Cheri Roberts of Florence and Lisa Ross of Burlington; brothers, Duncan McDanold of Villa Hills, Bill McDanold of Erlanger, Mike McDanold of Vermont and Mark McDanold of Florence; a sister, Jane Thurman of Erlanger; and eight grandchildren.
No services are planned. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 6612 Dixie Highway, Suite 2A, Florence, Ky. 41042.
Joseph E. Ellig, 85, of Fort Wright, died at 10:03 p.m. Monday at St. Charles Care Center, Covington. He was a salesman and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Amelia Broghamer Ellig, nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Charles Care Center Chapel, Covington. Entombment will be in Mother of God Mausoleum, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
Rebecca I. Engelman, 79, of Covington, died Monday at her home.

Terry Alan Lanham, 52, of Kannapolis, N.C., formerly of Harrison County, died Monday at Northeast Medical Center, Concord, N.C.
He was a quality assurance manager with Carrabus Plastics Inc. and a member of Young Memorial Baptist Church in Concord.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalynn Platt Lanham; a son, Terry Alan Lanham II of Kannapolis; a daughter, Cara Beth Lanham of Concord, N.C.; a brother, Mark Wayne Lanham of Stevensville, Mont.; and two grandchildren.

Audrey A. Flynn Mullen, 72, of Highland Heights, died Monday at her home.
She was a retired filing supervisor with Great American Insurance Co., Cincinnati.
Her husband, Albert R. Mullen, died in 2001.
Survivors include daughters, Deborah Johnson of Newport, Mary Lynn Myers of Dayton, Karen Popp of Bellevue, Ruth Mullen of Cold Spring and Kimberly Hartig of Taylor Mill; sons, Michael Mullen of Cold Spring and James Mullen of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; sisters, Sister Ruth Flynn, C.D.P. of Zanesville, Ohio, Blanche Rawe of Fort Mitchell and Barb Cowie of Fort Thomas; a brother, William Flynn of Elsmere; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Sister Rose Teresa O'Brien, C.D.P., 90, of Melbourne, died at 9:30 p.m. May 13 at Holy Family Home, Melbourne.
She was a registered nurse.
There are no immediate survivors.

Frances Reed, 69, of Augusta, died at 7:10 p.m. Monday at Augusta Health Care Center. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include daughters, Vickie Cracraft of Winchester and Robin Nickoson of Augusta; a son, David Fields of Augusta; a brother, Carlos Field of Fayetteville, Ohio; sisters, Jewel Merill of Carlisle and Christine Fields of Ohio; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Kash Sebastian Jr., 58, of Newport, died Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati.
He was an employee of Reliable Castings Corp., Cincinnati.
Survivors include a son, Jeremy Kash Sebastian of Newport; a daughter, Geneva Aguilar of Newport; sisters, Thelma Moyer of Fort Thomas, Wilma Saylor of Cold Spring, Wanda Bowling of Southgate and Shirley Turner of Breathitt County; brothers, John W. Sebastian of Butler and Mike Sebastian of Breathitt County; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick. Visitation will be from 4 to 10 tonight at the funeral home.
Wilma D. Weissmann, 70, of Maysville, died at 11:10 a.m. Monday at Maysville Nursing Rehabilitation Center. She was a homemaker and a member of Augusta Trinity United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Freddie Weissmann, died in 1989.
Survivors include sons, David Weissmann and Kenneth Weissmann, both of Augusta; brothers, Don Dixion of Lexington, Allen Dixion of Winchester and Glenn Dixion of Windsorlock, Conn.; a grandson, two step-granddaughters and a step-great-grandson.
