Richard Wheeler, 24, had his life mapped out
The late Richard "Rich" V. Wheeler had his life all planned out -- until a brain aneurysm cut it short.
A senior at Northern Kentucky University, the 24-year-old Erlanger resident was majoring in radio and broadcast, and planned to write scripts for motion pictures.
A full-time student, he also worked for Microtel Inc. in Florence.
He planned to marry his fiancee, Terrie Taylor of Erlanger, when he graduated.
They wanted to have three children, said his mother, Kathleen M. Vickers of Alexandria.
The youngest of three children himself, Mr. Wheeler loved children. He coached his nephew's hockey team in the Northern Kentucky Youth Hockey League, and often watched his nieces and nephews play their soccer games.
He had complained of a headache for a week before his death. Late Saturday night, he said he was feeling sick and very hot.
He had a seizure, fell into a coma and died Sunday evening at University Hospital in Cincinnati.
He left behind a devastated fiancee and family.
"He was a very kind, gentle, loving kid, " his mother said.
The 1996 graduate of Highlands High School played the guitar and wrote lyrics for songs.
