'Bucky' Robinson, veteran, treasury agent
Robert C. "Bucky" Robinson's zest for life and good-natured mischief was on full display when he tried to become the first American to enter occupied Japan in World War II by leaving his battle station on a Navy destroyer and running to the bow of the ship.
Mr. Robinson was a sailor on the U.S.S. Taylor, the lead escort for Gen. Douglas MacArthur and the U.S.S. Missouri as they sailed into Tokyo Bay to negotiate terms of Japan's surrender.
He made it into the bay before his commanding officer ordered him back to his post. The Northern Kentucky native kept that spirit of adventure and fun throughout his life as an athlete, treasury agent and family man.

"My sisters and I can all confirm he was the greatest father anybody could ever ask for, " said son Rick Robinson, of Fort Mitchell. "And he loved his grandkids. He lived for celebrating everyone of their accomplishments."
Mr. Robinson gained local notoriety at Ludlow High School as a football player on champion teams in the Little Six league. He was recently inducted into the school's hall of fame in recognition of that accomplishment.
After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Mr. Robinson became an agent for the U.S. Treasury, running audits in criminal cases. He ended his career working as an expert witness for the U.S. Attorney's office.
Mr. Robinson enjoyed interacting with colleagues and friends. He was a member of Disabled Vets of America, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and past president of World War II Veterans of Ludlow.
