William Stineman, skilled tennis player
William F. Stineman, 53, of Dayton, a free-lance writer, teacher and tennis player, died Tuesday at his home.
Mr. Stineman was valedictorian of his St. Xavier High School class in Cincinnati and was an Eagle Scout.
He received a bachelor's degree at Princeton University, a master's at the University of Chicago and a law degree at the University of Cincinnati.
He wrote on various topics and also worked as a substitute teacher in the Cincinnati Public Schools.
Mr. Stineman was a skilled tennis player. He played tennis at Princeton and later competed in Cincinnati-area tournaments.
"He was a pretty vivacious person with lots of interests, " said a brother, John Stineman of Anderson Township, Ohio. "He was extremely intelligent and involved in education all his life.
"He was quite an accomplished tennis player. He also was a tennis instructor and worked summers at tennis clubs."
Other survivors include a daughter, Galadriel Stineman of Bellevue; sisters, Cathy Dittrich of Fairfield, Conn., and Ann Nick of Evanston, Ill., and brothers, James Stineman of Chicago, Jerry Stineman of Cincinnati, Joe Stineman of the Bronx, N.Y., Paul Stineman of Cincinnati and Thom Stineman of Gaithersburg, Md.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church in Bellevue. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
A.C. Dobbling & Son Funeral Home of Fort Thomas is handling arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the World Wildlife Fund, the Animal Shelter of Campbell County or to the donor's charity of choice.
George Wilford Beighle, 87, of Kenton County, died Wednesday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport.
Arrangements are pending at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence.
Lucille F. Blakley, 94, of Villa Hills, died Tuesday at Madonna Manor, Villa Hills. She was a homemaker and a member of Ross Senior Citizens, Ross, Ohio, Walton Senior Citizens, Walton, and Queen of Peace Altar Rosary Society. Her husband, Earl J. Blakley, and a daughter, Laurine Buell, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Earl T. Blakley of Kannapolis, N.C.; a daughter, Patricia Wessel of Lebanon, Ohio; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday Madonna Manor Chapel, Villa Hills. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday in the manor chapel. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hamilton, Ohio. Memorials are suggested to Madonna Manor, 2500 Amsterdam Road, Villa Hills, Ky. 41017.

John William "Bill" Childers, 66, of Falmouth, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Butler.
Survivors include daughters, Brigitte Hart of Falmouth and Christina Oaks of Demossville; sons, Kelly Childers, Aaron Childers and Shawn Childers, all of Falmouth; sisters, Barbara Hogle, Dorothy Robinson, Betty Mariannes, Phyllis Harvey, and Bonnie Childers, all of Indianapolis; brothers, Donald Childers of Rising Sun, Ind., and Milburn Childers of Indianapolis; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
William Robert Knock, 67, of Cold Spring, died Sunday at Northern Kentucky Care and Rehabilitation, Highland Heights. He was an employee of the C&O; Railroad.
Survivors include a son, Louis Knock of Dayton, Ohio; a daughter, Lee Ann Elam of Bellbrook, Ohio; a brother, Richard Knock of Union; sisters, Patricia Bianco of Villa Hills and Bonnie Gray of Alexandria; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
Virginia Hutchinson Perkins, 80, of Covington, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice Unit, Covington.
She was a retired seamstress. A son, James Perkins, died in 1997.
Survivors include her husband, James Andrew Perkins; a son, Rick L. Perkins of Independence; a brother, Stanley Hutchinson of Walton; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A gathering of friends will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at 5565 Cody Road, Independence. Cremation will be in Hillide Chapel, Cincinnati. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 6612 Dixie Highway, Suite 2a, Florence, Ky. 41042.

Virginia Breeze Poetter, 88, of Walton, died March 9 at Villa Springs Care Center, Erlanger.
Her husband, John Poetter, died in 1974, and a son, Robert Poetter, died in 1956.
Survivors include a daughter, Joan Conner of Walton.

Darlene Pressley, 41, of Butler, died at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker and a member of Keturah Street Church of God, Newport.
Survivors include her husband, J.T. Pressley; sons, Josh McCullah of Florence and Jeremy McCullah of Hebron; daughters, Amy McCullah and Emily Pressley, both of Butler; mother, Pauline Shaw of Falmouth; brothers, Bill Shaw of Cincinnati, David Shaw of Falmouth and Keith Shaw of Ludlow; a sister, Sue Bays of Falmouth; and five grandchildren.

Addie Mae Daugherty Tipton, 95, of Florence, formerly of Fort Wright, died at 10:17 a.m. Saturday at Colonial Gardens, Florence.
She was a member of Madison Avenue Christian Church, Covington, and Bradford Star DES, Independence. Her husband, Rev. Dr. Arthur T. Tipton, died in 1992.
Survivors include a son, Paul E. Tipton of Florence; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
