Jarette McLemore, 81, teacher, church organist

Jarette B. Downey McLemore, 81, of Fort Mitchell, who spent more than 40 years teaching school and playing the organ at church, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.

She taught school 41 years, including 38 at the Opportunity School for handicapped children on the Holmes High School campus in Covington.

Mrs. McLemore also taught at John G. Carlisle School in Covington and at Cincinnati Public Schools.

She was the organist at several Northern Kentucky churches, including Trinity United Methodist Church in Latonia and Lakeside Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. McLemore was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and Latonia Homemakers. Her husband, Julius J. McLemore, died in 2002.
