Albert William Rider, dedicated to family
Albert William Rider is gone, but the memories his wife has of him will remain with her for a long time.
"I can see him walking up on the hill, going to the farm. I can see him on those John Deere tractors, " said his wife, Martha Rider. "It's not the same around here."
Mr. Rider, 56, who died at his home in Walton on Sunday, was a farmer who worked very hard, his wife said.
He didn't belong to any church. He didn't belong to any organizations.
When he wasn't working, he liked to fish with his wife in ponds around Boone County. He also enjoyed playing video games.
He always tried to keep his wife and their daughter, Marty Rider, happy, she said. "Whenever anything would break down, he'd be right there to try and fix it, " she said.
"We just tried to have a home, and be happy, and take care of Marty, " she said.
Other survivors include another daughters, Rachel Rider of Independence; a sister, Connie George of Gallatin County; and brothers, Boots Rider of St. Louis, Gary Rider of Florence and Jimmy Dimser of Union.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Burlington Cemetery. Stith Funeral Home, Florence, is handling arrangements.
Martin Bray III, 48, of Belleview, died at 8:40 p.m. Monday at his home. He was a maintenance man with Hampton Co., Florence.
Survivors include his wife, Lana M. Bray of Ludlow; a stepson, Charles Cooper of Ludlow; a stepdaughter, Tonya Noel of Ludlow; his mother, Betty Hollandsworth of Campton; a stepsister, Tori Lozier of Campton; and five step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be at noon Saturday at Clemons Family Cemetery, Campton.
Augusta Ruth Menefee Caldwell, 90, of Demossville, died Wednesday St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
She was a homemaker and a member of Wilmington Baptist Church. A daughter, Rose Mason, and a grandson, Eric Imhoff, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Gaynor Caldwell, a daughter, Marlene Downs of Independence; sons, Dennis Caldwell of Las Vegas, Nev., and Dean Caldwell Demossville; a sister, Naomi Phillips of Latonia; brothers, Tilford Menefee of Demossville, Lloyd Menefee of Louisville and Marvin Menefee of Covintgon; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gardnersville Cemetery.
James A. Gallenstein, 62, of Erlanger, died Tuesday at Woodcrest Manor, Elsmere. He was owner of 3G's Inc., a member of Mary Queen of Heaven Church in Erlanger and an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Gallenstein; sons, B.J. Gallenstein of Burlington and Doug Gallenstein of Walton; a daughter, Tracy Gallenstein of Walton; sisters, Jeannine Gallenstein of Walton, Gayle Ramler of Florence and Judy Terlau of Union; and five grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mary Queen of Heaven Church. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Friday. Ruth Evelyn Gray, 92, of Butler, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
She was a homemaker and a member of Plum Creek Christian Church, serving in the past as a Sunday school teacher and pianist. She was a piano teacher and was a member of the Ladies Council of Southern States in Alexandria. Her husband, Roy Gray, died in 1987.
Survivors include daughters, Sharon Souders of Alexandria and Marlene Gosney of Butler; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Plum Creek Christian Church, Butler. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Flour Creek Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to This Land His Grace, in care of Plum Creek Christian Church, U.S. 27, Butler, Ky. 41006.
Howard Benjamin Hale, 78, of Florence, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. He was a self-employed accountant and owner of Howard Hale Accounting, a former employee of the Internal Revenue Service and a member of First Baptist Church, Walton. He was a former deacon and trustee of the church and an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Amy Bowling Hale; a daughter, Frances Harris of Burlington; a son, Rick Hale of Covington; a brother, Herman Edward Hale of Independence; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Friday at First Baptist Church, Walton. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, 47 S. Main St., Walton, Ky. 41094.
Ernest Herman Mosier, 73, of Latonia, died at 6:35 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. He was a retired employee of BASF Chemical Co. in Cincinnati, a member of St. Augustine Church in Covington and American Legion Post No. 203 in Latonia, and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Berberich Mosier; a son, Greg Mosier of Latonia; and a granddaughter.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine Church. Entombment will be in Mother of God Mausoleum, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested in the form of Masses. Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia, is handling arrangements.
Billie Burgess Sawyer, 70, of Carrollton, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
She was a nurse.
Survivors include sons, Carlton Wiggins "Buzz" Sawyer Jr. of Marlon, S.C., Mark Allen Sawyer of Mullins, S.C., and William Randall Sawyer of Fork, S.C.; brothers, Sam Burgess of Carrollton and Ronald Burgess of Frankfort; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Carrollton.
Marie Amelia Schoech Wagner, 83, of Gaithersburg, Md., formerly of Bellevue, died Friday at Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg. She was a homemaker, a member of Sacred Heart Church in Bellevue, and a former saleswoman with Shillito's department stores.
Her husband, Lloyd S. Wagner, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughter, Georgianne Schade of Shelbyville, Del., and Valerie Sutton of Gaithersburg; brothers, Rev. Ray Broering of Florida and Fritz Schoech of Phoenix; and five grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.
