William Stidham, had private detective firm
William Riley Stidham was a devoted family man and private detective who reveled in reuniting adopted children with their biological parents.
"Finding people's parents, that was his favorite, " said Mr. Stidham's wife, Linda Stidham.
"He loved 'biologicals.' He found probably close to 50 people."
Mr. Stidham, of Parkview Heights, Ohio, formerly of Covington, died Tuesday afternoon at his home. He was 66.
Mr. Stidham, born in Corbin and reared in Cincinnati, was a private detective for 40 years. For about 25 of those years, he had his own business, Tri-State Detective Agency in Dayton.
Mr. Stidham worked as a detective in Las Vegas for about three years and off and on during the course of his career working on computers for Shamus Detective Agency of Cincinnati.
The Stidhams married
in 1992 after being introduced to each other four months earlier by one of her daughters and one of his sons.
At the time, both were divorced. Their blended family boasted eight children and 21 grandchildren.
Mrs. Stidham said she was blessed to find her husband, who was 15 years her senior.
"He was a gentleman's gentleman, " she said. "He would cup my face in his hands and ask to kiss me.
"He believed in carrying two linen handkerchiefs -- one for himself and one for his date.
"He was just so polite and regal."
Mr. Stidham was an Army veteran.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Robert King of Akin, S.C., Stacey Stidham of Anchorage, Alaska, James Allphin of Columbia, S.C., Samuel Setters of Graniteville, S.C., and William Stidham-Garner of Cincinnati; daughters, Christina Setters of Akin, Phyllis Setters of Covington and Katherine Kappes of Batesville, Ind.; sisters, Beatrice Powell of Independence, Bonnie Jakama of Norwalk, Conn., and Gayle Carter of Vero Beach, Fla.
Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Friday at the Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Covington. Cremation will be at Hillside Chapel in Cincinnati. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 6612 Dixie Highway, Suite 2A, Florence, Ky. 41042.
Marietta Louise Coursey Brown, 80, of Covington, died at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday at Tri County Extended Care Center, Fairfield, Ohio. She was a homemaker and a member of American Association of Retired Persons.
Survivors include her husband, George W. Brown; sons, Frederick Warren Brown of Harrison, Ohio, and Rodney Pierce Brown of West Chester, Ohio; a daughter, Janet E. Roy of Florence; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Charles L. Bruin, 71, of Brooksville, died Tuesday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville. He was a retired dock worker with Duff Truck Line, Cincinnati, and a member of Neave United Methodist Church. His wife, Mary Meyer Bruin, died in 1980.
Survivors include a son, Keith L. Bruin of Brooksville; daughters, Karen Gordley of Brooksville and Sherry Sticklen of Cheapeake, Va.; a sister, Betty Pugh of Falmouth; brothers, Larry Bruin of Covington, Jerry Bruin of Florida, and Jimmy Bruin, Gary Bruin and Mike Bruin, all of Falmouth; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Brooksville. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Neave Cemetery.
Mary E. Howard Cook, 68, of Dry Ridge, died Wednesday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Dry Ridge. Her husband, Norman Cook, and a grandson, Jeremy Cook, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sons, Richard Cook Mount Zion and Kerry Cook of Williamstown; daughters, Barbara Kennedy of Florence, Brenda Rose of Dry Ridge, Mary Florence Dryer of Georgetown and Donna Glass of Mount Zion; brothers, James Howard of the state of California and Ross Howard of Benton; sisters, Virginia Kacaba of the state of California, Florence Ryan of Walton and Flora Ryan both of Walton, and June Acra of Edwardsville, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
Ann Lucile Durcan, 84, of Fort Wright, died Wednesday at Villaspring Care Center, Erlanger.

Anna Lucille Littrell, 79, of Williamstown, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired employee of Equitable Bag Co., Florence.
Survivors include sons, Lonnie Littrell of Elsmere, Marvin Littrell of Crittenden and Daryl Littrell of Bromley; a daughter, Mary Vest of Taylor Mill; sisters, Mildred Shafer of Corbin and Opal Owens of Erlanger; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home, Main Street location, Owenton. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Owenton. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Anna Mae McFarland, 89, of Latonia, died at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington.
She was a homemaker, member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church and a foster mother to 126 children. Her husband, Lewis McFarland, died in 1966.
Survivors include her daughter, Anna L. Price of Oakland, Calif.; sons, Robert L. McFarland and Donald M. McFarland, both of Clarksville, Tenn.; a sister, Maggie Sutton of London; and three grandchildren.

Ellen K. Kennedy Meihaus, 88, of Fort Mitchell, died at 9:14 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Stanley A. Meihaus, died in 2002.
Survivors include daughters, Peggy M. Haskell of Edgewood, M. Jeane Nagle of Villa Hills and Carol M. Rasp of Fort Mitchell; sons, Stanley A. Meihaus Jr. of Coldwater, Ohio, James D. Meihaus of Union, Robert J. Meihaus of Fort Mitchell and Donald E. Alice Lee Milius, 84, of Kent, N.Y., formerly of Newport, died Monday at Putnam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kent. She was a retired cashier with Grasslands Hospital in Valhalla, N.Y. and a member of First Baptist Church of Bellevue. Her husband, Marvin Milius, died in 1964.
Survivors include a son, Mike Milius of Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter, Jeri Zekus of Poughquag, N.Y.; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Radel Funeral Home, Highland Heights. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

George Douglas Moore, 59, of Westcliff, Colo., formerly of Fort Thomas, died Feb. 14 in Westcliff. He was a retired lineman with Cincinnati Bell Telephone and a member of First Church Church of Westcliff.
Survivors include his wife, Valerie Welch Moore; a son, Michael Moore of Fort Thomas; a daughter, Jennifer Moore of Covington; and two grandchildren.

Vincentia Ruprecht Voskuhl, 89, of Covington, died Tuesday at St. Charles Care Center in Covington. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence B. Voskuhl of Crescent Springs; a daughter, Louise Siegrist of Villa Hills; a brother, Edward Ruprecht of Fort Thomas; and three grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Friday at St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs.

William Webb, 67, of Walton, died at 6:10 a.m. Wednesday at Deaconness Hospital, Cincinnati.
