Helen E. Kleier, 85, medical assistant
Helen E. Kleier, 85, of Fort Mitchell, a retired medical assistant who enjoyed doing volunteer work, died Wednesday at her home. She was a former medical assistant in the office of Dr. Karl Kumpe and volunteered at St. Elizabeth South Hospital.
Mrs. Kleier also was an ambassador at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. She was a member of St. Paul Christian Community Church and a member of the Senior Citizens of Northern Kentucky.
"She was extremely active and very hard to keep up with, " said her son, William H. Kleier of Carrollton.
Mrs. Kleier was married
49 years to William D. Kleier, who died in 1988. "They were closer in marriage than anyone I've ever known, " said her son. "I never once knew them to quarrel."
Mrs. Kleier enjoyed painting and traveling.
"She was crazy about her great-grandkids, " said her son. "She was such a caring person and could be trusted more than anyone I've ever known."
Other survivors include a daughter, Sharon Ann Socotch of Clackamas, Ore.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Covington. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Highland cemetery in Fort Mitchell.
Michele "Shellie" Anderson, 37, of Covington, died Feb. 20 at her home. She was a customer service representative with Staples, Florence.
Survivors include a son, Ian Brandon Anderson of Pikeville; her parents, Claire Newman of Highland Heights and Floyd Newman of Cincinnati; a brother, Dean Newman of Alexandria.
Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Corbett Theater, Northern Kentucky University, Highland Heights. Helen Ruth Hicks Armstrong, 74, of Cumberland, formerly of Covington, died Thursday at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Harlan. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Her husband, Woodrow Armstrong, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Connie Partin of Cumberland and Carol Klette of Florence; sons, Frank, Edward and Allen Armstrong all of Bromley; brothers, Evelyn Buckler of Erlanger and Charles Hicks of Independence; sister, Delores McCarthy of Hebron; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery.
Sarah Jean Barger, 64, of Wilder, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Don Barger; sons, Donald Barger of Erlanger, David Barger of Newport and Douglas Barger of Wilder; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Radel Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to Sarah Barger Memorial Fund, in care of any Fifth Third Bank.
Elsie Mae Biddle, 79, of California, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired employee of Heekin Can Co., Cincinnati.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Biddle Sr.; a son, Earl Biddle Jr. of California; a daughter, Betty Beamon of California; sisters, Pearl Schof and Rosella Schof, both of California; a brother, Carl Hogle Jr. of California; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Monday at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick.

Mary E. Howard Cook, 68, of Dry Ridge, died Wednesday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Dry Ridge. Her husband, Norman Cook, and a grandson, Jeremy Cook, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sons, Richard Cook Mount Zion and Kerry Cook of Williamstown; daughters, Barbara Kennedy of Florence, Brenda Rose of Dry Ridge, Mary Florence Dryer of Georgetown and Donna Glass of Mount Zion; brothers, James Howard of the state of California, Samuel Howard of Walton and Ross Howard of Benton; sisters, Virginia Kacaba of the state of California, Florence Ryan of Walton and Flora Ryan both of Walton, and June Acra of Edwardsville, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, two step grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
Viola Caroline Crawford, 96, of Latonia, died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Cross Church, Latonia.
Survivors include a son, Bart Crawford of Tucson, Ariz.; daughters, Charlene Baker of Erlanger, Judy Vittitoe of Florence and Sandra Meiman of Covington; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia, and from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.

Milton John Dotson, 74, of Zephyrhills, Fla., died Wednesday in Zephyrhills. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Dotson; a son, Johnny Lee Dotson of Covington; daughters, Jewell Bennett of Newport, Debbie Nagel of Cincinnati, Karne Molique of Imperial, Mo. And Tracey Flynn of Fort Wright; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ann Lucile Durcan, 84, of Fort Wright, died Wednesday at Village Care Center, Erlanger. She was a homemaker, and a member of St. Agnes Church in Fort Wright and the church Altar Society. Her husband, Philip Durcan, died in 1999.
Survivors include daughters, Debbie Highhouse of Villa Hills, Phyllis Dietz of Fort Mitchell and Donna Crowley of Decatur, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

George Douglas Moore, of Westcliff, Colo., formerly of Fort Thomas, died Feb. 14 in Westcliff. He was a retired lineman with Cincinnati Bell Telephone and a member of First Baptist Church of Westcliff.
Survivors include his wife, Valerie Welch Moore; a son, Michael Moore of Fort Thomas; a daughter, Jennifer Jones of Covington; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Faith Christian Center, Park Hills.

William Webb, 65, of Walton, died Wednesday at Deaconess Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a maintenance worker with Lasco Industries in Florence.
Survivors include his wife, Ima Jean Webb; daughters, Laura Reid of Walton, Marsha Arrowood of Middleton, Tenn., and Melani Arrasmith of Dry Ridge; sisters, Genevive Claxton of Dover, Del., Joyce Colvin of Durham, N.C., and Anna Ruth Kelton of Indianapolis; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hughes Chapel Cemetery, Walton. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
