Victor W. Rosenhagen, 85, always 'on the go'
Friends and family say Victor W. Rosenhagen never seemed to stop moving.
For more than 30 years, Mr. Rosenhagen worked as a store manager for the Kroger Co., but after retiring in the 1970s he found himself restless.
He decided to take a job as an insurance agent with Life of Virginia and wound up working full-time for another 20 years. When he grew bored with retirement after that, he dabbled in real estate for several more years.
"He was an on-the-go type person, " said Vicki Knight, a daughter from Cincinnati. "He was just very outgoing, and he loved to be involved with all types of events."
Mr. Rosenhagen, 85, of Melbourne, died Monday at Carmel Manor Nursing Home in Fort Thomas.
Despite her father's dedication to work, Knight said her father was always supportive of his family.
"I guess the best way to put it is that he was quietly supportive, " she said. "If we ever needed anything, he would take care of it."
Mr. Rosenhagen was an ardent sports fan. He loved the Cincinnati Reds and tried to love the Bengals, but the team's lack of success made it difficult, Knight said.
She said her father watched the Super Bowl with her Sunday evening.
He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Newport, the Kiwanis Club and Fort Thomas Retired Men's Club, and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. His wife, Nola Rosenhagen, died in 1998
