Tami Lynn Gamble, 'excellent' mom
Gregory Allen Gamble said he will do his best to raise his school-age children but knows they will suffer from the loss of their mother.
"It's going to be tough, " said Gamble, of Taylor Mill. "We've got a pretty good house and pretty good things.
"But she was an excellent mother. She did homework with them every night. She did everything with them.
"They really loved their mom."
Gamble's wife, Tami Lynn Gamble, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. She was 39.
Mrs. Gamble was a native of Covington and attended Holmes High School in the mid-1980s. She later earned her high-school equivalency certificate.
When the couple married
17 years ago, Mrs. Gamble worked at the Internal Revenue Service.
But she became a homemaker with the birth of her daughter Christie Lynn, now 11, and son Greg, now 8.
Mrs. Gamble liked to relax by shooting pool, swimming and, most recently, riding motorcycles. The family owned a Harley-Davidson.
"She just liked going and riding with all her friends, " her husband said. "She just had a good time, stopping at a lot of places and restaurants. We were just getting into doing that -- riding down by the river and having a good time."
Gregory Gamble said his wife's death took the family by surprise.
"The coroner told us she died of advanced heart disease, " he said. "We didn't even know she had it."
In addition to her immediate family, Mrs. Gamble is survived by her mother, Barbara Gilbert of Florence; brothers, Rick Gilbert of Independence and Jim Gilbert of Ludlow; and sisters, Debbie Redman of Hopkinsville and Robin Gilbert of Florence.
