Linda Fey, family service worker for Head Start
Linda S. Fey liked few things more than helping people.
"She was bubbly, friendly, easy to get along with -- really an outgoing person. She loved being around people, " said Ms. Fey's sister-in-law, Connie Fey of Hebron.
Ms. Fey, 49, of Newport, a family service worker for the Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission's Head Start program, died Sunday of liver disease at the Northern Kentucky Rehabilitation Center in Highland Heights.
Ms. Fey began work at Head Start in 1986 and held a variety of positions with the organization, including driving a bus and doing administrative work.
"She enjoyed helping people, and she liked everything about Head Start, " said Connie Fey. "Everybody there loved her.
"She was a very good person who died way too young. It is a tragedy."
Other survivors include Ms. Fey's mother, Lauretta Fey of Newport; a brother, Ken Fey of Hebron; two nephews, Todd and Tony Fey of Hebron, and a great nephew, Logan Fey of Hebron.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lenoxburg cemetery in Lenoxburg.
Hazel M. Ball, 75, of Carrollton, died Sunday at King's Daughters Hospital in Madison, Ind. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Sheila Lilly of Carrollton; a son, Gary Mikel of Carrollton; a brother, Stanley Jones of Phoenix; three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Carrollton.
Bert Andrew Baughan, 54, of Newport, died Thursday at his home. He was a supervisor and school bus driver with the Newport Board of Education.
Survivors include a brother, George Baughan of Newport; and sisters, Ollie Cole of Cincinnati, Kate Senters of Barberville, and Jane Crail and Bertha Taylor, both of Covington.
Graveside services will be at noon Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Radel Funeral Home, Newport, is handling arrangements.
Mary E. Schulten Caddell, 80, of Taylor Mill, died at 12:57 a.m. Sunday at Deaconess Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a retired clerk with the Lazarus department store in downtown Cincinnati and a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Fort Wright. Her husband, Willard A. Caddell, died July 4.
Survivors include daughters, Dr. Carol Roark of Erlanger and Susan Roeder of West Point, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Billie Jean Combs Carmack, 54, of Newport, died Friday at Jewish Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a homemaker and a former binder with World Wide Co. A son, Jackie Lee Riley, preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Stanley Riley of Dayton, Richard Riley of Covington, Bobby Riley of Latonia and Dwight Carmack of Lancaster; a brother, Paul Combs of Booneville; and sisters, Diane Rose of Irvine, Pam Hurdle and Lisa Abner, both of Booneville.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Booneville Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hensley Cemetery, Sextons Creek.
John C. Curtis, 55, of Owenton, died Sunday at his home. He was an employee of the state of Kentucky.
Survivors include sisters, Susan Curtis and Anne Cammack.

Anna Mae Setter Feldhaus, 90, of Newport, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a cook with Skyline Drive-In in Florence and a cook with the Press Club in Covington, and a member of Holy Cross Church in Latonia, Daughters of Isabella and Senior Citizens of Northern Kentucky.
Survivors include daughters, Patricia Feldhaus of Huttig, Ark., Jeannette Krantz of Campbellsville, Violet Rice of Newport or Barbara Winscher of Latonia; a son, Paul Feldhaus of Tacoma, Wash.; and 32 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Church, Latonia. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
Paul Hensley, 70, of Covington, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. He was a painter with Consolidated Metal Co., Cincinnati, and a member of Mountain Assembly Church of God, Newport.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Hensley; daughters, Vickie Wilson of Latonia, Jan Hensley of California, Pam Short and Darlene Shay, both of Newport, and Sandy Hensley of Independence; a son, Doug Hensley of Covington; brothers, James Hensley and Oliver Hensley, both of Clay County, Elzie Hensley Jr. of Kenton County and Gordon Hensley of Cincinnati; 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Mountain Assembly Church of God, Newport. Visitation will begin there at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, is handling arrangements.
Carl Hollen, 63, of Highland Heights, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at his home. He was a retired welder with Wirthland Welding Co., Cincinnati.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Hollen; sons, Carl Hollen Jr. and William Hollen, both of Covington; a daughter, Tammy Hollen of Covington; his father, General Stewart of Alexandria; sisters, Betty Ellis, Anna Turner and Olly Dean Wortelberger, all of Alexandria, and Odie Hall of California; and a brother, Bobby Ray Hollen of Cold Spring.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
Thelma Milner Hopper, 97, of Portage, Mich., died Sunday in Portage. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Pleasant Church of Christ, Williamstown. Her husband, Estill Hopper, died in 1985.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara Hopper of Williamstown and Freda Steinagel of Portage; a son, John Hopper of Williamstown; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Pleasant Church of Christ, Williamstown. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Williamstown Cemetery. Edna Mae Huesman, 95, of Lawrenceburg, Ind., formerly of Covington, died at 2:54 a.m. Sunday at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg.
She was a homemaker. Her husband, Frank J. Huesman, died in 1969.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.
Ethel M. Kerr, 83, of West Covington, died Sunday at her home.
She was a retired billing clerk with Gibson Greeting Card Co., Cincinnati.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Rita Ann Wordeman Steidle, 79, of Edgewood, died Monday at her home.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Pius X Church, Edgewood. A son, Dale Steidle, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph W. Steidle; sons, John Steidle of Xenia, Ohio, Kenneth Steidle of Union and Norbert Steidle of Edgewood; daughters, Alvera Hassebrock of Cincinnati, and Laura Blair and Grace Csinsi, both of Edgewood; a brother, Vincent Wordeman of Covington; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Pius X Church. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.

Dorothy Trapp, 84, of Alexandria, died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday at Baptist Village Care Center, Erlanger.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Alexandria. Her husband, Walter Trapp, died in 1983.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Leslie of Edgewood; and a grandson.
