Lester Glenn Workman of Independence, Ky., was a hard worker who always took time to be with his family and friends and to volunteer at schools and his church.
"He was outgoing and very friendly, " said his wife of 50 years, Marisue McCarthy Workman.
Mr. Workman, 69, died Saturday at his home.
He was a dock manager with Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati for 31 years. Before he retired in 1989, he also worked about 20 years as a Kenton County school bus driver.
Mr. Workman was active with Simon Kenton High School's boosters club and was a timekeeper at high school basketball games, including district and regional tournaments.
Mr. Workman worked with junior and senior high students at churches he attended.
At the time of his death, he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Latonia.
There, Mr. Workman also sang in the choir, performed maintenance work, and participated in devotional and social activities with the church's Young at Heart Club.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Workman is survived by sons, Glenn Workman of Somerset, Ky., and Dale Workman of Covington; daughters, Debbie Schadler of Walton, Ky., Kimber Muse of Ferguson, Ky., Cathi Faulkner and Yvonne Workman, both of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Harold Workman of Florence; a sister, Nelda Webster of Williamstown, Ky.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Latonia.
Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Burial will be in Independence Cemetery.

Michael S. Argo, 29, of Covington, died Saturday at his home.
Arrangements are pending at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill.
William Dawson Bailey, 77, of Lawrenceburg, Ky., formerly of Falmouth, Ky., died Thursday at his home.
He was a retired truck driver with Roadway Express and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Tingle Bailey; daughters, Sheila Johnson and Bethany Helton, both of Lawrenceburg, Ky., Bonnie Boggs of Covington, Elaine Settle of Tampa, Fla., and Cheryl Miller of Commerce City, Colo.; a son, David Bailey of Erlanger, Ky.; a sister, Norma Bernitt of Williamstown, Ky.; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Gash Memorial Chapel, Lawrenceburg, Ky.
Ann M. Collett, 88, of Florence, died Saturday at her home.
She was a billing adjustment worker with Lazarus Department Stores and a member of First Church of Christ, Burlington. Her husband, James L. Collett, died in 1977.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Krohman of Florence; a son, Charlie Collett of Fort Wright, Ky.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge, Ky.

Dorothy French, 65, of Cold Spring, died Friday at Carmel Manor Nursing Home, Fort Thomas, Ky.
She was a retired factory worker with American Standard Co., a past matron of Dora Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, and a past worthy high priest of the Covington White Shrine.
Survivors include her husband, Seth French; daughters, Pat Brickler of Bellevue, Ky., and Pam Stewart of Cincinnati; sisters, Jerline Ogle of Marysville, Tenn., Juanita Stewart of Martinsville, Tenn., and Trillamee Wilburn of Dover, Md.; brothers, Harrison Sands of Friendsville, Tenn., James Sands of Greenback, Tenn., Leo Sands and Roy Sands, both of Marysville, Ky., and William Sands of California, Ky.; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill, Ky.

Mabel Hillman Lamb, 97, of Milan, Ind., died Saturday at Ripley Crossing Care Center in Milan.
She was a retired music, history and physical education teacher, and a choir director with Walnut Hills-Avondale (Ohio) United Methodist Church. She was a member of Milan United Methodist Church, Western Hills Garden Club, and the Hamilton County League of Women Voters and Rebeccah Lodge. She also sang at the Cincinnati May Festival for more than 20 years. Her husband, Everett J. Lamb, died in 1999.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Eloise Lucas of Cincinnati; a step-granddaughter and three step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. EST Wednesday at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan, Ind. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. EST Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Moores Hill, Ind.

Rose Martin, 90, of Alexandria, Ky., died Saturday at her home.
She was a farmer.
Survivors include a son, Donald Martin of Lexington, Mass.; sisters, Etta Hooker of Louisville, Elsie Longworth of Tyner, Ky., and Mabel Longworth of McKee, Ky.; three granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.

Nina Yvonne Wilson Orme, 78, of Piner, Ky., died Friday at her home.
She was a registered nurse with St. Elizabeth Medical Centers and a member of Piner Baptist Church. A daughter, Carrie Lynn Orme, died in 1960.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Orme; sons, Howard Dale Peebles of Sherman, Ky., and Larry Raymond Orme of Piner; daughters, Joan Peebles Brown of Piner, Cherry Hope Peebles Smith of Gulf Shores, Ala., and Janice Peebles of Demossville, Ky.; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Emma M. Perkins, 82, of Lawrenceburg, Ind., formerly of Kenton County, Ky., died Saturday at Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg.
She was a homemaker and a former employee of Coney Island amusement park in Cincinnati.
Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Ford of Burlington, Ky., and Bobby Perkins of Brooksville, Ky.; a sister, Hattie Smith of Florence and Fred Moore of Winter Haven, Fla.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington, Ky. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill, Ky.
Judith L. Pultz, 62, of Highland Heights, Ky., died at 3:40 p.m. Friday at her home.
She was a retired saleswoman with Drees Co.
Survivors include a brother, Tom Duffey of Cold Spring, Ky., and a sister, Sister Mary Elizabeth, C.P., of Erlanger, Ky.

Dorothy Ware Purdy, 82, of Florence, died Saturday at St Luke Hospital West, Florence.
She was a homemaker and a member of St John United Church of Christ, Newport. Her husband, Clyde Purdy, died in 1982.
Survivors include sons, Dan Purdy of Cold Spring, Ky., William L. Purdy of Columbus, Ohio, and Charles Edward Purdy of Alexandria, Ky.; daughters, Nancy Lee O'Hara of Frankfort and Sandra Kay Biery of Erlanger, Ky.; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Robert Todd, 79, of Lincoln Heights, Ohio, died Wednesday at Bethesda North Hospital, Cincinnati.
He was an administrator with General Electric.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Woodlawn, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati.
