Iola Ridimann, loved fishing and bowling
When Iola Allen lived on York Street in Newport, one Sunday afternoon a young man who lived across the street knocked on her door.
It was Joseph Ridimann, asking her if she wanted to go with him to the opening of the airport in Boone County.
That was the first of many dates the two would have in a marriage that lasted more than 50 years.
Iola Allen Ridimann, 81, of Newport, died at 3:42 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
Mrs. Ridimann lived an active life, her husband said. She liked to fish, bowl and even target shoot, he said.
She also played the piano, and especially liked to play love songs. When they were courting, she would play, and they would sing together, he said.
"She was a good cook, and I was, too, " Mr. Ridimann said.
Mrs. Ridimann was a homemaker and a member of St. Ann's Auxiliary Knights of St. John, Newport.
Other survivors include a daughter, Beverlee Cunningham of Pleasant Plain, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Spirit Church, Newport. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport. Prayers will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.
John A. Clemons, 61, of Covington, died Thursday at Northern Kentucky Care and Rehabilitation Center, Highland Heights. He was a retired dishwasher with the Quality Inn, Covington.
Survivors include brothers, David Clemons of Latonia, James Clemons of Germantown, Robert Clemons of Dry Ridge and Jerry Clemons of Cincinnati; and sisters, Gloria Clemons of Georgetown, Doris Kerns of Latonia, Ellen Clemons of Dry Ridge and Barbara Campbell of Erlanger.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Campbell County Cemetery, Highland Heights. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport, is handling arrangements.
David Earl Hogle Jr., 33, of Alexandria, was found dead Friday at the Drawbridge Inn, Fort Mitchell. He was a steelworker with A.K. Steel Co.
Survivors include sons, Trevin Hogle of Alexandria, Hunter Hogle and Hayden Hogle, both of Elsmere; his mother and stepfather, Judy and Robert Yeager of Bellevue; brothers, Darin Hogle and Derek Hogle, both of Alexandria; and grandparents, Betty and Don Overman of Fort Thomas, Joseph and Norma Grimes of Bull Head City, Ariz., and Jeanette Hogle of Highland Heights.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Fort Thomas. Visitation will begin there at 5 p.m. Thursday. Memorials are suggested to Dave Hogle Memorial Fund, in care of any Fifth Third Bank branch. Cremation Society of Greater Cincinnati is handling arrangements.
Nathan D. Mann, 17, of Crittenden, died Monday in an auto accident on U.S. 25 south of Crittenden. He was a retail clerk with Blue Pantry in Richwood.
Survivors include his parents, Kevin Mann of Crittenden and Cheryll Cash of Florence; brothers, Noah A. Mann and Nicholas K. Mann, both of Crittenden; sisters, Pamela Pinkston of Macon, Ga., and Shadonna M. Mann of Crittenden; and grandparents, Hazel Mann of Crittenden and Charles and Dorothy Roberts of Florence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery, Verona.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Willard Gayle Noel, 81, of Owenton, died Monday at Thomson Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.
He owned the Owenton Gulf Station, Noel Sporting Goods, Noel's Pool Room and Restaurant, and Owenton Auto Sales. He was a member of Owenton First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a nephew, Billy Noel of Frankfort; and nieces, Rose Marie Rogers of Frankfort, Jerri Smith of Monterey and Carla Sue Oaks of Owenton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McDonald Funeral Home, Main Street location, Owenton. Visitation will begin there at noon Saturday. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Owenton.

James H. "Pete" Orr, 74, of Alexandria, died Saturday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a retired employee of Bordens Inc. and a member of Summit Church of Christ, Alexandria.
Survivors include his wife, June Musgrave Orr; daughters, Candace Bliss of Williamsport, Pa., Cassy White of New London, Wis., and Peetra Johnson of Alexandria; a son, James H. Orr III of Wellsboro, Pa.; sisters, Martha Short and Anna Clark, both of Lewisburg, Tenn.; brothers, Robert Orr and Paul Orr, both of Lewisburg, and Charlie Orr of Starksville, Miss.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were Tuesday at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home, Lewisburg. Burial was in Temple Cemetery, Lewisburg.
Christopher O. Pabst, 36, of Dayton, died Monday at his home. He was a salesman with Overhead Door Co.
Survivors include his wife, Serene Pabst; a daughter, Christina Pabst of Fort Thomas; sisters, Lisa Duff of Dayton, Karen Heringer of Bromley, Linda Mann of Burlington, Deborah Pabst of Newport, Cindy Sherlock of Erlanger and Penny Sergeant of Lebanon, Ohio; and brothers, Bill Pabst of Atlanta, Allen Pabst of Fort Thomas, Ken Pabst of Independence, Michael Pabst of Florence and Steve Pabst of San Diego.

Billy D. Sydnor Sr., 73, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Tuesday at his home.
He was a retired employee of Ford Motor Co., Cincinnati, and a Navy veteran. A daughter, Sharon Rae Sydnor, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Gallagher Sydnor; sons, Billy Sydnor Jr. and Ricky W. Sydnor, both of Orlando; daughters, Rejeanna Fischer and Deborah Imhoff, both of Orlando; brothers, Donald Sydnor of Mount Auburn, Elwood Sydnor of Falmouth and Shelby Sydnor of Tampa, Fla.; sisters, Kathryn Spare and Mattie Foster, both of Newport, and Betty Phillips of Tampa; three grandchildren and two great-grand-children.

Billy Gayle Tomlin, 69, of Williamstown, died Sunday at his home. He was a retired machinist with American Tool Works, Cincinnati, a member of Unity Baptist Church in Demossville and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include a brother, Hubert Tomlin of Fort Mitchell; a niece and nephews.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
